PARTITIONED CARPULE, SYRINGE, AND SYSTEM THEREFOR, AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
Described is a mixing syringe for receiving a removable carpule partitioned to form two reservoirs independently containing anesthetic solution and buffering solution and having a mixing chamber for mixing the solutions during administration, and methods of using the mixing syringe.
AUTO-INJECTOR
Aspects of the present invention relate to an injection device comprising a housing configured to house a syringe, an activation member, a drive mechanism configured to, upon activation by the activation member, drive the plunger driver between a first, initial, position and a second, final, position thereby to operate the syringe within the housing and a damping mechanism configured to damp movement of the plunger driver in either a forward or rearward motion. In this way, tolerances in plunger position may be accounted for. Plunger position may affect the amount of travel of the plunger driver before the plunger driver is in contact with the plunger and the plunger is in contact with the drug within the barrel. During this travel, the drive force may cause rapid acceleration of the plunger driver, which may then cause damage to the syringe or discomfort to the recipient of the injection when contact between the three elements is made. Damping of the forward motion of the plunger driver reduces or overcomes the risk of this.
Syringe Carrier
Described is a syringe carrier comprising a body adapted to receive a barrel of a syringe. The body includes two sections having distal ends with shoulder sections. The shoulder sections are adapted to engage a circumferential gap between the barrel of the syringe and a needle shield covering a needle of the syringe.
INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device (10) comprising a housing (12), a needle hub (38) slidable within the housing (12), a needle (40) having a distal end piercing tip (42) and a proximal end piercing tip (44), the needle hub being moveable from a first position wherein the distal end piercing tip (42) is within the housing to a second position wherein the distal end piercing tip (42) extends outwardly of the housing (12), a spring (23) biassing the needle hub (38) towards the first position, and a cartridge receiving member (48) mounted within the housing (12), and a plunger rod assembly (66) for exerting pressure on the cartridge receiving member (48) to move the cartridge (26) and the needle hub (38) from the first position to the second position, the plunger rod assembly (66) and the cartridge receiving member (48) being arranged such that when the cartridge rod assembly is pushed, a rotational movement is imparted to the cartridge receiving member (48) to thereby prevent access to the cartridge after injection.
MEDICATION DELIVERY DEVICE INCLUDING DISPOSABLE AND REUSABLE PORTIONS
A medication delivery device including a disposable portion and a reusable portion. The disposable portion can include a carrier and a syringe coupled with the carrier. The reusable portion can include a housing which includes radial opening that can receive the disposable portion in a radial direction. The reusable portion also includes a shuttle that includes a guide that can receive the carrier of the disposable portion through the radial opening. The reusable portion also includes an actuator assembly coupled with the shuttle that can move the disposable portion through the passageway of the housing between a stowed state in which the needle is concealed within the housing, a deployed state in which the needle extends from the housing to deliver the medication to a patient, and a retracted state in which the needle is retracted into the housing.
Syringe with injection dose adjustment function
A syringe with an injection dose adjustment function, the syringe comprising a medicine vial connecting apparatus and an adjustable propulsion apparatus; by means of assembling the medicine vial connecting apparatus and a medicine vial, and then installing the adjustable propulsion apparatus in the medicine vial connecting apparatus and extending the adjustable propulsion apparatus into the medicine vial, a rotating knob of the medicine vial connecting apparatus can drive a push rod of the adjustable propulsion apparatus to move backward to a predetermined scale; at a time of injection, pressing the push rod enables the medicine vial to output a predetermined dosage of medicinal liquid, such that the syringe can adjust the dosage of the injection according to requirements of different injection subjects.
Method and apparatus for applying an anesthetic and bactericide
A method and an apparatus for applying an anesthetic that includes a receptacle having an upper end, a substantially hollow interior, a lower end having a tube or nozzle extending therefrom, and an attachment for attaching to the barrel of a syringe or vice versa. The receptacle receives a container or canister containing an endothermic gas or vapor (propellant) that rapidly absorbs heat when released to the atmosphere. A depressible actuating member or trigger propels the gas or vapor through an outlet nozzle that is oriented to project a stream of gas or vapor along a delivery axis that intersects a delivery axis of the needle, therefore, the gas or vapor can be successively delivered to an injection site with minimal repositioning of the housing.
