DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR MEDICAMENT DELIVERY
A method includes moving an actuation lock of a medical injector from a first position to a second position. The actuation lock has an extended portion disposed between a shoulder of a housing and the base when the actuation lock is in the first position. The extended portion is spaced apart from the base when the actuation lock is in the second position. A distal end portion of a base, which is movably coupled to an end portion of the housing, is placed into contact with a body. The base is actuated after the placing to release an energy from an energy storage member within the housing to produce a force to move a needle from a first needle position to a second needle position. At least a portion of the needle extends through the base when the needle is in the second needle position.
Container for mixing and dispensing two components
A container and methods for storing and mixing a two-component composition is provided. The container includes a body, a first plug and a second plug. The body has a first end, a second end, and a bypass with a length L disposed between the first and second ends. The first and second plugs are slidably disposed in the body and define a first compartment. A second compartment is disposed in the body between the second plug and the second end. The second plug has a first edge, a second edge, and a plurality of spaced-apart primary conduits extending through the second plug. Each primary conduit has a separate first opening. A distance D extends longitudinally from the first edge to the second edge and a distance E extends longitudinally from the first edge to the first opening that is nearest the first edge. DL and E<L.
Medicament delivery device
A medicament delivery device is presented having a housing, a medicament container holder, arranged movable in relation to the housing and capable of accommodating a medicament container. An activator is arranged in the housing and capable of, upon activation, acting on a medicament container for expelling a dose of medicament, where the activator has a plunger rod, a manually operable dose setting nut rotatably connected to the housing and arranged with first threads. Second threads are arranged on the medicament container holder being arranged to cooperate with said dose setting nut, wherein operation of the dose setting nut will cause the medicament container holder with the medicament container to move towards the plunger rod for setting a dose of medicament to be delivered.
Multi-use drug delivery device for drugs with less preservatives
A multi-use drug delivery device for extended use, wherein the multi-use drug delivery device comprising a multi-use main portion (310) and a single-use flow conducting device (360) adapted for conducting drug to the subcutaneous tissue of a subject, wherein the change from a connected configuration to an unconnected configuration of the main portion and the flow conducting device is through the intermediate configuration. The intermediate configuration comprises an equalizing channel defining an equalizing flow path (304) different from an unintended flow path (303). The equalizing channel is adapted for equalizing the fluid pressure in a fluid communication volume (301) to the fluid pressure in the external environment, upon changing the configuration from the connected to the intermediate configuration and thereby expanding an internal volume, whereby an equalizing fluid flow along the equalizing flow path is larger than an unintended flow along the unintended flow path, whereby equalization of the fluid communication volume is provided with a reduced risk of introducing microorganisms from the flow channel (362) into the reservoir (311).
Processes for delivery of viscous drug therapies
Core annular flow is used to enable the subcutaneous delivery of a viscous fluid such as a protein therapeutic formulation. The high-viscosity fluid is surrounded by a low-viscosity fluid, and the low-viscosity fluid lubricates the passage of the high-viscosity fluid. This allows the use of protein formulations that have a higher concentration and a higher viscosity at comparatively reduced injection forces and reduced injection times. Several different embodiments of injection devices that provide core annular flow are described herein.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE FOR DELIVERING A PREDEFINED FIXED DOSE
A drug delivery device (100, 300), comprising a rotatable drum (210, 410) with a plurality of needle assemblies, a shield (110, 410) and a needle change mechanism (134, 233, 105.2, 231, 105.2, 214, 305.1, 317). The needle change mechanism is operationally coupled to the drum (210, 410) and the shield (110, 310). The needle change mechanism is having an active state adapted to induce rotation of the drum (210, 410), in response to a movement of the shield (110, 310), the needle change mechanism further comprises a passive state wherein no rotation is induced on the drum (210, 410). The needle change mechanism is, in response to the second movement of the shield (110, 310), adapted to change from the passive state to the active state after the hollow needle (224, 424) disconnects from the cartridge, whereby it is prevented that the drum (210, 410) rotates while the hollow needle (224, 424) is connected with the cartridge.
SYRINGE NEEDLE RETAINER AND CAP ASSEMBLY
A syringe cap and needle assembly includes a needle retainer, a needle member secured within the needle retainer, and a cap. The needle member further includes an exterior needle end that extends outside of a forward end of the needle retainer. The cap is configured to slideably move with respect to the needle retainer between at least a first position and a second position. in the first position, the cap substantially surrounds the exterior needle end. In the first position and the second position, the cap substantially surrounds at least a portion of the needle retainer. in the second position, at least a portion of the exterior needle end is not surrounded by the cap.
A NEEDLE CANNULA, AN INJECTION NEEDLE ASSEMBLY FOR AN INJECTION DEVICE AND AN INJECTION DEVICE COMPRISING SUCH ASSEMBLY
A needle cannula for an injection device, extends along a central axis and comprises: a) a skin piercing distal end (133b), b) a proximal end (133a) configured for penetrating a seal structure (102b) of a medicament container (102), and c) a sidewall extending between the skin piercing distal end (133b) and the proximal end (133a), wherein the proximal end (133a) is defined by an angled surface (134) pointing proximally, the angled surface (134) defining a leading portion (134.1) and a heel portion (134.2), and wherein the angled surface (134) comprises a surface portion (134a, 134b) at the heel portion (134.2) forming an angle (.sub.1) between 50 to 75 degrees with respect to the central axis, and further comprises a surface portion (134c) at the leading portion (134.1) forming an angle (.sub.2) between 60 to 85 degrees with respect to the central axis. An injection needle assembly for an injection device and an injection device comprising such assembly are further described.
PRE-FILLED INJECTION DEVICE WITH CARTRIDGE, HAVING MULTIPLE CHAMBERS
An injection device (100) including a tubular body (3) within which a cartridge is inserted (10) equipped with a bottom (14) and a back chamber (8) containing one first substance (SI). The device (100) also has a front chamber (9) containing one second substance (S2) intended to be mixed inside the tubular body (3) with the first substance (SI) to reconstitute the injectable substance (S). The device (100) is characterized in that the cartridge (10) has a flexible body (13) suitable for tearing as a result of the increase of pressure inside the cartridge (10) in order to put in communication the back chamber (8) with the front chamber (9) and to allow the reconstitution of the injectable solution (S).
