The container has a sealing member sealing a first end of the container, and a barrier sealing a chamber in fluid communication with the sealing member. The method includes providing a valve sleeve assembly that includes a flexible sleeve having a barrier portion at an end of the flexible sleeve, a hollow first penetrator disposed within the flexible sleeve, and a hollow second penetrator at least partially disposed within the first penetrator. An interior of the flexible sleeve is sterile. The method also includes piercing the barrier portion and the barrier with the first penetrator, and displacing the second penetrator relative to the first penetrator and the sealing member to pierce the sealing member and establish the sterile connection with an interior of the container.
Cartridge for Auto-Injector Apparatus
A cartridge assembly apparatus for an auto-injector includes a flexible container containing a liquid medicant. A needle hub is connected to the flexible container. A needle is attached to the needle hub and extends proximally from the needle hub. A frame is connected to the needle hub and includes a frame proximal end extending proximally beyond a proximal end of the needle. The needle hub and the needle are displaceable relative to the frame in a proximal direction to insert the needle into a patient.
Drug delivery device with a hydraulic trigger mechanism
A device for administering a fluid medicament by injection comprises a dosing portion (1) with a collapsible reservoir (10). The reservoir (10) has a maximum volume in an extended state and a minimum volume in a collapsed state. Prior to injection, the reservoir (10) is in the extended state and contains a liquid to be administered, and the reservoir (10) is biased towards the collapsed state. The device further comprises a needle (2), wherein a lumen (20) of the needle (2) is in fluid communication with the reservoir (10). The device further comprises a shield portion (3) with a plug (30). Prior to injection, the shield portion (3) is in a deployed position where the plug (30) blocks the lumen (20) of the needle (2). The shield portion (3) is adapted to move in response to an actuation force from the deployed position to a retracted position where the lumen (20) of the needle (2) is open, thereby causing the reservoir (10) to shift to the collapsed state to expel the liquid through the needle.
Devices, systems and methods for medicament delivery
A method includes moving an actuation lock of a medical injector from a first position to a second position. The actuation lock has an extended portion disposed between a shoulder of a housing and the base when the actuation lock is in the first position. The extended portion is spaced apart from the base when the actuation lock is in the second position. A distal end portion of a base, which is movably coupled to an end portion of the housing, is placed into contact with a body. The base is actuated after the placing to release an energy from an energy storage member within the housing to produce a force to move a needle from a first needle position to a second needle position. At least a portion of the needle extends through the base when the needle is in the second needle position.
Housing for an Injection Device
The present invention relates in one aspect to a housing for an injection device, comprising: a body (30) to accommodate a drive mechanism (5) to operably engage with a piston (52) of a cartridge (50) filled with a liquid injectable medicament (53), a cartridge holder (20) having a cartridge receiving space (25) to accommodate the cartridge (50), wherein the cartridge holder (20) and the body (30) comprise an elongated shape and extend along an axial longitudinal direction (1, 2), wherein the cartridge holder (20) has an insert section (21) at a proximal end (23), wherein the body (30) has a receptacle (31) at a distal end (33) to receive the insert section (21) of the cartridge holder (20), wherein the body (30) comprises a first latch element (34) on an inside (32) of a sidewall (32) of the receptacle (31), wherein the cartridge holder (20) comprises a first through recess (24) in a sidewall (22) of the insert section (21) which through recess (24) is configured to receive the first latch element (34), wherein the through recess (24) comprises a narrowed neck receiving portion (24a) extending axially into a widened latch receiving portion (24b), wherein a first lateral width (w1) of the neck receiving portion (24a) is smaller than a second lateral width (w2) of the latch receiving portion (24b).
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
The present disclosure relates to a medicament delivery device. The medicament delivery device includes a needle for delivering a medicament and an insertion mechanism configured to urge the needle in a first direction parallel to a longitudinal axis of the needle. The insertion mechanism includes a driving mechanism and a cam. The driving mechanism is configured to exert a force in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The cam is coupled to the needle and is configured to receive a force from the driving mechanism and move in the first direction in response to the received force.
Housing Components for an Injection Device
A drug delivery housing device includes a first housing component comprising a first connecting end, and a second housing component comprising a second connecting end. An insert is provided on the first or second connecting end, and a receptacle is provided on the other one of the first and second connecting ends. The insert is insertable into the receptacle for mutually fastening the first and second housing components. A threaded connection mutually connects the first and second connecting ends and includes a helical thread on the insert and a helical counter thread complementary shaped to the helical thread and provided in the receptacle. A rotation lock is configured to impede screwing and/or unscrewing of the first and second housing components. The rotation lock includes a locking structure on the first housing component and a counter locking structure complementary shaped to the locking structure and provided on the second housing component.
