End-of-Dose Detection for Drug Delivery System
A drug delivery system having an end-of-dose detection arrangement for injecting a medicament. The system including a container configured to receive a medicament, a drive assembly which, upon actuation, is configured to expel the medicament from the container, a needle for injecting the medicament to a patient, a needle actuator assembly comprising a movable portion biased by a biasing member and configured to move the needle between a pre-use position, a use positon for delivery of the medicament to the patient, and a post-use position after delivery of the medicament is completed, and a tube in fluid communication with the container and the needle, the tube comprising an expandable portion having an expanded state and a non-expanded state, wherein the expandable portion is configured to be in the expanded state upon actuation of the drive assembly and a non-expanded state when the needle is in the post-use positon.
Spacer Assembly for Drug Delivery Device
A drive assembly for a drug delivery system including a plunger member configured to engage and move a stopper within a container, a biasing member configured to move the plunger member, and an adjustable spacer assembly positioned between the plunger member and the stopper. The spacer assembly includes a spacer element attached to the stopper and at least one shim or includes a spacer element and a holder to which the spacer element is attached. The holder may be attached to the stopper and the spacer element may be attached to the holder by a threaded engagement. Also, a drug delivery system for injecting a medicament, the system including a container configured to receive a medicament, the container comprising a stopper configured to move within the container and a closure, a drive assembly as described above, and a needle actuator assembly.
Housing of a drug delivery device
The present invention relates to a housing of a drug delivery device comprising a cylindrically shaped body (12) to accommodate a drive mechanism (13) and comprising a cartridge holder (14) to accommodate a cartridge (16) containing a dispensable medicament, the housing further comprising a connector assembly (20) to releasably interconnect body (12) and cartridge holder (14), the connector assembly (20) comprising: a tangentially extending recessed structure (30) with a tangential opening (31) to receive a radially extending pin (26), wherein the recessed structure (30) is fastened to one of body (12) and cartridge holder (14) and wherein the pin (26) is fastened to the other one of body (12) and cartridge holder (14), a release member (40) having a retaining portion (42) to cover the opening (31) in a locking configuration (60), wherein the release member (40) is displaceable in tangential direction (3) against a restoring force away from the recessed structure (30) into a release configuration (62), in which the opening (31) is uncovered to tangentially remove the pin (26) therefrom.
ASEPTIC PIERCING SYSTEM AND METHOD
The present disclosure provides aseptic vial piercing and sterilization systems, and methods of assembling, using and sterilizing same. The systems and methods utilize a pre-sterilized primary container including a first end, a first cavity, a second end with an opening in communication with the first cavity, a septum at least partially sealing the opening, and a product within the first cavity. The systems and methods include an injection assembly including a first end portion of a hollow flowpath forming member. The injection assembly and the primary container may be assembled in a non-sterile environment to form a second cavity extending about the first end portion of the flowpath forming member and to the primary container. The second cavity may then be selectively sterilized in a non-deleterious manner to the product to allow the first end portion to aseptically pierce the septum to extend into the first cavity.
Marker capsule for drug delivery dart
A marker capsule for a drug delivery dart that marks a animal upon impact to indicate it has had a drug injection. The marker capsule is formed of a rupturable material, and has a central aperture formed therethrough for disposition about a cannula extending from the drug delivery dart. A marking substance is contained within the capsule. The capsule ruptures between the dart body and the animal upon impact to thereby disperse said marking substance upon the animal about the area of the impact.
Drug delivery device for pharmaceutical compositions
The present invention relates to a dual-chamber pack with a first chamber comprising a container; and a second chamber comprising a reservoir, a biphasic connector, a plunger, and a plug with a breakable polymeric membrane. The container of the first chamber is prefilled with a pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle and the reservoir of the second chamber is prefilled with a solid composition of an active ingredient, wherein the solid composition of the active ingredient is mixed with the pharmaceutically acceptable vehicle to form a liquid pharmaceutical composition upon activation of the dual-chamber pack.
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE FOR ADMINISTRATION OF OPIOID ANTAGONISTS INCLUDING FORMULATIONS FOR NALOXONE
Medicament delivery devices for administration of opioid antagonists are described herein. In some embodiments, an apparatus includes a housing, a medicament container disposed within the housing and an energy storage member disposed within the housing. The medicament container is filled with a naloxone composition that includes naloxone or salts thereof, a tonicity-adjusting agent, and a pH adjusting agent, whereby the osmolality of the naloxone composition ranges from about 250-350 mOsm and the pH ranges from about 3-5. The energy storage member is configured to produce a force to deliver the naloxone composition.
Drug delivery device
There is provided drug delivery devices including a drug container assembly with a needle and automatic needle insertion and drug delivery mechanisms. Aspects of the devices described include a noise-generation mechanism to indicate the completion of drug delivery, a mechanism for triggering drug delivery following needle insertion, front-end activation of the device and a safety mechanism for covering the needle after use and methods of assembly of the devices.
