Injection Device
The present disclosure relates to an injection device for delivery of a liquid medicament including a housing, a cartridge having a tubular shaped barrel filled with a liquid medicament and sealed in a proximal direction by a piston displaceably arranged in the barrel, and a drive mechanism having a piston rod to advance in a distal direction against a proximally facing surface of the piston of the cartridge. The drive mechanism is configured to advance the piston rod in the distal direction by a distance z1 to dispense a reference volume V1 of the medicament when operably engaged with a reference cartridge having a reference diameter D1, and, the cartridge has a diameter D2 smaller than the reference diameter D1 to dispense a volume V2 of the medicament smaller than the reference volume V1 when the piston rod advances in distal direction by the distance z1.
Cartridge for containing and dispensing a medicament
A cartridge for containing and dispensing a medicament, the cartridge including a cartridge body having an interior cavity therein, a stopper movably disposed within the interior cavity, and a septum disposed at an opposite end of the interior cavity from the stopper, for containing the medicament within the interior cavity. The cartridge also includes a connection thread integrally formed as a unitary construction of the cartridge body, the thread being disposed at a first end of the cartridge body for connecting a pen needle directly to the cartridge body to pierce the septum and provide communication between the medicament and a patient end of the pen needle.
Housing for mounting a container on an injection pen, assembly forming an injectable product reservoir for an injection pen and injection pen equipped with such an assembly
The housing for mounting an elongate-shaped container on an injection pen comprises an elongate-shaped body which extends along a longitudinal axis (X30) and which defines an interior volume (V32) for fully receiving the container. The body is provided, on the outside of a first axial end, with at least one first mechanical member for attaching a needle. The body is further provided, in the vicinity of a second axial end opposite the first axial end, with at least one second mechanical member for attaching the housing onto an injection pen. The housing further comprises, in the vicinity of the first axial end thereof, at least one third mechanical member for irreversibly locking a container in position, fully contained in the interior volume (V32) of the body of the housing. Said third locking member is formed by an elastically deformable tab intended to ensure locking of the container in position in the interior volume (V32) of the body of the housing, by axially retaining a flange of the container.
Fluid injecting system with needle retraction by vacuum
A fluid injecting system (100) comprising an injector (A) having an injector body (10), a plunger shaft (30), a plunger assembly (20) having an inner plunger barrel (21) slidable within an outer plunger barrel (22), a fluid-cartridge (B) having a fluid (53) and a hypodermic needle (72) for injecting the fluid (53) at an injectable site. The fluid-cartridge (B) is configured to releasably engage with the injector (A). A vacuum (V) is created between the outer plunger barrel (22) and the inner plunger barrel (21) upon formation of a united plunger barrel (40). Also, forward movement of the united plunger barrel (40) transfers the fluid (53) from the fluid-cartridge (B) into the injectable site. The hypodermic needle (72) retracts within empty fluid-cartridge (B) due to release of the vacuum (V) and the injector (A) is disengaged from the fluid-cartridge (B) for reuse. Further, a fluid injecting method (300) is provided.
FLUID COLLECTOR
Embodiments of the preset invention provide a fluid collector configured to releasably engage with an injector. The fluid collector comprises a fluid container configured to have a centrally extended conical projection containing a detachable needle holder at a proximal end of said conical projection to hold a detachable hypodermic needle, a piston assembly having a piston flange provided with a conical cavity at center of said piston assembly at a distal end of said piston assembly to couple said plunger shaft of said injector and a container cover being internally provided with a concave diaphragm having a central hole to allow entry of said detachable hypodermic needle along with a detachable needle hub.
NEEDLE INSERTION AND RETRACTION MECHANISM
A system and method are provided for preventing a sharp stick hazard from a needle tip of an automatic injector device. In some embodiments, a skin contact surface of the device is attached to an injection site, for example by an adhesive. Optionally a locking mechanism holds a needle extended into an injection site. A body of the device is optionally movably attached to the skin contact surface. Pulling the body away from the injection site optionally moves the body with respect to the skin contact surface. Movement of the body with respect to the skin contact surface optionally moves interlinked parts of the locking mechanism, releasing the locking mechanism.
Housing and drug delivery device herewith
The present disclosure is generally directed to a drug delivery device for selecting and dispensing a number of user variable doses of a medicament and to a housing for such a device. The housing comprises an outer housing with a distal end and a cartridge holder with a proximal end, which, when the cartridge holder is attached to the outer housing, is inserted into the distal end of the outer housing. The outer housing is provided with a first fixture for axially constraining a further component part to the outer housing. When the cartridge holder is attached to the outer housing, the proximal end of the cartridge holder axially extends to the first fixture.
MIX AND TRIGGERING ASSEMBLY FOR A MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE
A mix and triggering assembly for a medicament delivery device, comprising: a housing structure having a proximal end and a distal end, a delivery member cover, a rotator sleeve, and a triggering member configured to be rotatably locked with the rotator sleeve and the delivery member cover, the triggering member being configured to move axially relative to the rotator sleeve, wherein the delivery member cover, the rotator sleeve and the triggering member are configured to be received by the housing structure, the delivery member cover being configured to extend from the proximal end of the housing structure, wherein the delivery member cover, the rotator sleeve and the triggering member are rotatebly arranged relative to the housing structure, wherein the housing structure has a thread structure and the rotator sleeve and the triggering member are configured to be in a threaded connection with the thread structure in a ready to mix position of the triggering member, preventing irrotational axial movement of the triggering member relative to the housing structure towards the distal end of the housing structure, wherein rotation of the delivery member cover relative to the housing structure causes the rotator sleeve and the triggering member to be screwed from the ready to mix position towards the distal end of the housing structure until the triggering member reaches a dose setting position, in which the triggering member is configured to be released from engagement with the thread structure, enabling irrotational axial movement of the triggering member further towards the distal end of the housing structure.
