SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MIXING AND DELIVERING A SOLUTION
A device for mixing and delivering a solution includes a tubular barrel that includes a first end, a second end, and interior compartment. A first plunger is positionable at the first end, is moveable within the interior compartment, and includes a spike protruding into the interior compartment, the spike having an end configured for piercing a membrane. A second plunger is positionable within the barrel, moveable within the interior compartment, and has a pierceable membrane. The second plunger and the second end form a first area housing a first solution and the first and second plungers form a second area housing a second solution. The first and second plungers are slidably arranged within the interior area such that moving the first plunger toward the second plunger causes the spike to pierce the pierceable membrane and push the second solution through the pierced membrane to mix with the first solution.
ADAPTIVE PRIMARY PACKAGING FOR THERAPEUTIC SOLUTIONS
Various container assemblies for containing a therapeutic liquid are provided. A first container assembly comprises a frame having a proximal end and a distal end and includes a plurality of axially extending legs, a collar attached to the plurality of axially extending legs at the proximal end of the frame, and a collapsible film covering the frame and attached to the distal end of the frame and at least a portion of the collar. A second container assembly for a therapeutic liquid comprises a collar and a collapsible film. The collar may comprise a plurality of hingedly connected segments configured to switch from an open configuration to a closed configuration. The collapsible film may be configured as a pouch having an open end attached to one end of the collar.
Bone material mixing and dispensing devices and methods
A device for mixing and dispensing bone material is provided. The device comprises a tubular member having an interior surface configured to receive bone material and a fluid to mix the bone material disposed within the tubular member. The tubular member is flexible and has a proximal opening configured to slidably receive a plunger, and a distal opening configured to dispense a mixed bone material from the interior surface of the tubular member. The plunger is less flexible than the tubular member. Methods of mixing and dispensing bone material are also provided.
Systems and methods for fluid delivery
The invention provides for a delivery system including a delivery assembly configured to allow delivery of a single dose of a therapeutic agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) from a Blow-Fill-Seal (BFS) vial to a patient. The delivery assembly generally includes a modular design consisting of separately constructed components cooperatively arranged and coupled to one another. The modular construction allows for rapid manufacturing reconfigurations of one or more components with minimal costs to create new delivery assembly configurations that meet specific needs (i.e., different modes of delivery depending on agent to be delivered, such as subcutaneous, intramuscular, intradermal, intravenous injection, spray, or droplet delivery). The delivery assembly is generally configured to be filled on-site and in the field and is further capable of delivery of the agent in a controlled manner and without requiring specialized skill in administering delivery of such agent.
BENEFICIAL AGENT DISPENSER
A dispensing device for use with a beneficial agent has a dispensing package, a dispenser disposed on an end portion of the dispensing package, and an actuator movably disposed along at least a portion of the package between a pre-dispensing state and a dispensing state. One arrangement also provides a beneficial agent dispenser having a dispensing port, an elongate portion and a plunger that is movably disposed relative to a tubular wall of the elongate portion during a dispensing stroke to partially penetrate a separable barrier and expel the beneficial agent through the dispensing port.
System and Method for Containing and Dispensing Fluids
An integral injection molded strip (10) of a single plastic material is provided, the strip comprising a plurality of vials (20) connected by frangible (breakable) connecting members (38). Each vial (as molded as part of the integral injection molded strip) has a neck portion (30) with an internal delivery passage (31) and a squeezable body portion (22), the squeezable body portion having an internal chamber (23) for holding a single dose of a fluid product (50), the chamber (23) having an open top end (24) fluidly connected to the internal delivery passage (31) in the neck portion, and the chamber having a bottom end (25) adapted for filling with the fluid product. The internal delivery passage (31) (of the neck portion) has an open bottom end (33) fluidly connecting to the body chamber, an opposing open top end (32), and an integral injection molded internal membrane (34) (formed in the delivery channel during injection molding of the integral strip of vials) that seals the delivery passage (31) prior to being pierced by a needle (62) of a dispensing device (60).
FLUID DISPENSER
A fluid dispensing device is provided for dispensing a measured amount of fluid into a living organism. The device includes a rigid fluid reservoir closed by a septum for use in a fluid dispensing device for dispensing a measured amount of fluid into a living organism, wherein the device has a main housing enclosing the operative components of the device, the said fluid reservoir located within the main housing, an injection assembly including a needle, and a trigger mechanism. The needle has a first end adapted to piercing the septum and pushing the septum into the reservoir so that the septum acts as a piston, expelling the fluid through the needle, and a second end adapted to injecting the fluid into the living organism.
Coded collapsible drug reservoir
A coded collapsible drug reservoir and a drug delivery system including the coded collapsible drug reservoir. The drug reservoir includes a collapsible housing and a port in communication with the collapsible housing. The drug reservoir further includes a coding feature disposed on the drug reservoir, and the coding feature identifies the drug reservoir.
Device for Administering a Medicinal Liquid by Injection
A device for administering a medicinal liquid by injection is provided. The device comprises a dose assembly comprising collapsible reservoir. The device further includes at least one actuator element onto which the user may apply a force to actuate the device, the force having a component along an axis perpendicular to a longitudinal axis; and a housing comprising a septum. The at least one actuator element is configured and arranged to act on at least a portion of a dose assembly and the at least one actuator element and dose assembly are configured and arranged such that the needle is displaceable along the longitudinal axis and/or in an axis parallel to the longitudinal axis in response to an actuation force so that a portion of the needle moves from an interior to an exterior of the housing and device to allow for dispensation of the medicinal liquid.
