Disposable array-type micro injection needle head and prefilled syringe
10058691 · 2018-08-28 · ·

The invention discloses a disposable array-type micro injection needle head which comprises a lower needle seat which is configured as a cylindrical column opening at one end and having a top cap at the other end and which is configured to be connected with an injection reservoir; an upper needle seat which is located above the top cap of the lower needle seat with a cavity formed between the upper needle seat and the top cap; a through-hole formed in the top cap which is configured for communicating the cylindrical column with the cavity, wherein a pipetting needle is mounted in the through-hole which has one end communicated with the cavity and the other end located in the cylindrical column and which is configured for extracting injection from the injection reservoir into the cavity; and at least two needle tubes mounted in the upper needle seat, each of which has one end comprising a needle tip for puncturing and for injecting the injection and the other end for mounting on the upper needle seat and for communicating with the cavity. The needle head can be used directly on existing insulin pen, or the cylindrical column can be provided inside it with an injection reservoir to form a disposable prefilled syringe. By using a plurality of thin, short needle tubes for injecting simultaneously, vertical hypodermic injection of medicines such as insulin can be preformed rapidly, leakproof, painlessly, safely and conveniently at various sites of a human body, without needing to pinch skin, while a potential trouble that the medicines be injected into muscles can be avoided. Patient adherence to the treatment regimen and the treatment effect are improved.

An injection delivery device involves a body, a medication-containing vial within at least a portion of the body, the medication-containing vial having an open end and a closed end opposite the open end. The open end of the vial includes a seal that prevents medication contained therein from exiting the vial until delivery of the medication to a target injection site is desired. The injection delivery device also includes a plunger positioned near the open end of the vial and a needle having a passage therethrough, wherein the needle, plunger and vial are positioned relative to each other such that, during delivery of an injection, a portion of the passage will be within the plunger, and the plunger and needle will remain stationary relative to each other while the vial moves relative the plunger in a direction towards the target injection site.

INFANT EPINEPHRINE AUTOINJECTOR

An injection device suitable for use with infants is disclosed. The injection device is formed from a body shield member and a cylindrical handle. The body shield member includes a concave flange at the base, which is pressed against the patient's limb and reduces local compression at the needle insertion site. The injection device also has a softer form and operates through a pressing motion. A catch member is located in the cylindrical handle, and is deployed upon fully depressing the handle. Once the handle returns to its starting position, the catch member prevents the handle from being depressed a second time and permitting the used needle to be exposed.

Plunger systems for expelling a liquid drug from a drug container within a wearable drug delivery device are provided. A rotation system coupled to a plunger rotates the plunger about a central axis of the plunger to overcome a static friction between the plunger and the drug container. After rotating the plunger, a drive system moves the plunger forward into the drug container to expel the liquid drug for delivery to the patient. A collapsible plunger includes a cavity. A radial torsion spring positioned in the cavity can provide an outward radial force on the collapsible plunger. The cavity enables the collapsible plunger to compress radially when entering and passing through a region of a drug container having a relatively narrower width. The radial torsion spring can radially expand the collapsible plunger when entering and passing through a region of the drug container having a relatively wider width.

A method and apparatus are disclosed for delivery of a drug to a recipient. In some embodiments, the delivery apparatus may unseal a drug containing reservoir. In some embodiments, the delivery rate may be controlled and/or adjustable. Optionally the apparatus may be disposable. Optionally, the apparatus may have a low profile and/or be wearable and/or attachable to the recipient. Optionally, discharge of the drug and/or unsealing of the reservoir may be driven by a plunger moving parallel to the base of the apparatus. Optionally, the apparatus may release a hypodermic needle into the recipient. Optionally, release of the hypodermic needle may be in a direction non-parallel and/or orthogonal to the direction of movement of the plunger. Optionally, prior to release, the hypodermic needle may be preserved in an aseptic state by a needle opening septum sealing a needle opening. Optionally, upon release, the hypodermic needle may pierce the needle opening septum.
