CAP, SYRINGE ASSEMBLY, AND PREFILLED SYRINGE
A syringe assembly includes a prefilled syringe and a cap. A cap body is configured to be displaced from a first position where a viewing portion is positioned in a cylindrical main body to a second position where the viewing portion protrudes in a distal end direction from an opening of the cylindrical main body. When a mounting tube portion of the cap removed from a syringe body is brought close to a nozzle portion of the syringe body, the cap body is pressed in the distal end direction by the nozzle portion, thereby being displaced from the first position to the second position, and the appearance of an outer peripheral portion of the viewing portion changes.
Intravenous therapy tubing connection system
A swiveling intravenous therapy tubing connection system for easy rotational adjustment of an intravenous tubing line between a sterile container and a catheter used to administer a fluid to a patient features the sterile container which is a sterile intravenous fluid container and the catheter which is an intravenous therapy catheter located in the patient. The system features a length of intravenous therapy tubing having a female quick-connect swivel tubing connector located on a tubing first end and a quick-connect double swivel tubing connector located on a tubing second end. The female quick-connect swivel tubing connector is rotationally connected to a first mated male swivel tubing connector located on an intravenous fluid outlet of the intravenous fluid container. The quick-connect double swivel tubing connector is rotationally connected to a second mated male swivel tubing connector located on an intravenous fluid inlet of the catheter. The length of intravenous therapy tubing is designed to be infinitely rotatable in either direction.
Needle mounting feature for ensuring proper reconstitution sequence
In one aspect, a medical injector is provided herein having a body and an overcap releasably attached to the body configured to prevent mounting of a needle prior to mixing of components within the body. In a further aspect, a slidable collet may be provided useable to urge resilient members from an outward disrupted state inwardly to collectively define a needle mount. Advantageously, a medical injector is provided which ensures proper sequence in preparation of the device, particularly with respect to the step of allowing mounting of a medical needle to the device subsequent to preparation of the medicament to be administered.
Locking Hemodialysis Needle Assembly with Integral Needle Tip Protector
A needle assembly for medical or surgical use is disclosed, such as for hemodialysis. A representative needle assembly comprises an outer needle assembly and an integral needle tip protector. A representative outer needle assembly comprises: an outer needle comprising: a first lumen; a first aperture with a sharp needle tip at a first distal end of the outer needle; and a second aperture arranged opposite the first aperture. In another embodiment, the outer needle has a longitudinal slot and the integral needle tip protector includes a sliding connector which is slidable in the longitudinal slot. The integral needle tip protector is arranged within the first lumen and moveable between a retracted configuration and an extended configuration, and comprises: a needle tip cover arranged to shield the sharp needle tip in the extended configuration, the needle tip cover having a smooth or beveled distal surface forming a blunt tip.
Medication Injection Device
An injection device is provided herein comprising a container body for holding medication content having a distal end and a proximal end, the container body providing an outward flange at the distal end and a ledge at the proximal end; a piston placed at the proximal end of the container body for sealing and displacing medication content; a push rod placed inside the container body for moving the piston distally; and a connector providing an orifice for medication content delivery, placed at said distal end of said container body. The orifice in the connector provides medication content injection fluid pathway. With modification of the fundamental structure, a number of innovative device designs are created.
SYRINGE BARREL, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING SAME, AND PRE-FILLED SYRINGE
A syringe barrel includes: a barrel body having a barrel front end; and a cap removably mounted to the barrel front end. The cap includes: an inner cap made of an elastic material; and an outer cap made of a material having higher hardness than the inner cap. The cylindrical wall (of the inner cap is held in a compressed state between the outer peripheral surface of the barrel front end and the inner peripheral surface of the outer cap.
AUTOINJECTOR HAVING NEEDLE SHIELD TRIGGERING
An autoinjector (100) for expelling a single dose of drug from a held cartridge (600) comprising a piston (630). The autoinjector comprises a base (220, 200) comprising a base thread component (204) and a plunger (310, 400) configured to be moved by a force provided by an actuator (330) and adapted for cooperation with the piston (630). A needle shield (350, 380) is axially movable from an initial extended position via a triggering position to a trigger release position. The needle shield (350, 380) is operatively coupled to a plunger release element (320) cooperating with the plunger (310, 400) to define a releasable retaining mechanism that retains the plunger release element (320) threadedly engaged with the base thread component (204) in a predefined relative rotational and axial position and against rotational bias provided by the actuator (330). The needle shield (350, 380) is configured for operating the retaining mechanism to release the retaining of the plunger release element (320, 1320) and base thread component (204, 1204) from the predefined relative rotational and axial position upon the needle shield (350, 380) being moved into its trigger release position. As the needle shield (350, 380) is moved from the initial extended position to the triggering position, a pair of cooperating means (388,328) operatively couples the needle shield (350, 380) with the plunger release element (320) to rotate the plunger release element against the rotational bias provided by the actuator (330).
Needle protection device
A fluid injection device having a syringe body, a needle, and a needle protection device. The protection device includes a substantially flexible or deformable inner body and a substantially rigid outer body. The inner body closes a dispenser orifice of the needle, and co-operates with the syringe body in a leaktight manner, and the outer body fastens the protection device on the syringe body. The inner body includes a radial projection, and the outer body includes a radial shoulder and an axial end edge that defines a top axial opening. The inner body is inserted in the outer body, through the top axial opening, with the radial projection in abutment against the radial shoulder, the axial end edge of the outer body folded down on the inner body so as to fasten the inner body in the outer body.
