Iso compliant male luer tapered valves
Two embodiments of a normally closed tapered fitting valve are disclosed. Each tapered fitting valve comprises a single molded incompressible, but supple part and a skeletal support whereby the tapered fitting valve is opened by insertion into a female tapered fitting. Use of the valve specifically targets use with medical luer fittings. The preferred embodiment of an actuator portion of the valve is preferably elliptical in shape. The valve opens by compressing a slit which is disposed along a major elliptical axis as it is advanced through a tapered circular duct. A stand-alone male adapter comprising the tapered fitting valve is disclosed. Also, a syringe barrel comprising a skeletal support structure for a securely affixed valve to thereby provide a syringe barrel with an integrally affixed male adapter is disclosed.
Non-vented vial access syringe
A syringe includes a plunger having a plunger tube with proximal and distal ends, a center tube with a center passage that extends within the plunger tube, and a balloon disposed over the center tube and sealingly fixed to at least one of the center tube and the plunger tube. The syringe also includes a barrel having a barrel tube having proximal and distal ends and an interior configured to accept a portion of the plunger, a tip fixedly coupled to the proximal end of the barrel tube, a post fixedly attached to the tip and extending within the barrel tube toward the distal end, the tip configured to partially extend into the center passage of the plunger, and a gas passage extending from a proximal end of the tip to the distal end of the post.
CRIMP AND ASSEMBLY FOR AN INJECTION OR INFUSION DEVICE
A crimp for affixing a septum to a neck portion of a medicament cartridge includes a cylindrical skirt section made from a deformable material configured for attachment to the neck portion of the cartridge, an end wall connected to the cylindrical skirt section and arranged substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cylindrical skirt section, the end wall defining a passage, and a film attached to the end wall, wherein the film closes the passage and is made from a flexible, porous membrane. A section of the film covering the passage includes lateral dimensions that exceed lateral dimensions of the passage such that the film closes the passage and forms a sterile barrier. An assembly may include the crimp along with a cartridge and a septum.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
There is provided drug delivery devices comprising a drug container assembly with a needle and automatic needle insertion and drug delivery mechanisms. Aspects of the devices described include a noise-generation mechanism to indicate the completion of drug delivery, a mechanism for triggering drug delivery following needle insertion, front-end activation of the device and a safety mechanism for covering the needle after use and methods of assembly of the devices.
Syringe having pivoting arm plunger rod
A syringe assembly includes a syringe barrel having a first end, a second end, and a sidewall extending between the first end and the second end. The syringe assembly further includes a stopper disposed within a chamber of the syringe barrel, a plunger adapter engaged with the stopper, and a plunger rod having first and second ends. The first end of the plunger rod is pivotally secured to the plunger adapter. The plunger rod has a pre-use position where the second end of the plunger rod is positioned adjacent to the syringe barrel, and a use position where the plunger rod is configured to displace the stopper relative to the syringe barrel. A recessed portion of the plunger adapter receives a portion of the first end of the plunger rod when the plunger rod is in the pre-use position and the use position.
