Blister package for contact lens

A blister package for a contact lens is provided. A deformable slider supporting a lens is movable via pull-tab or hinge to lift the contact lens out of a lens well. The deformable slider can include a hinge connected to a flexible peel-away top of the blister package or connected to a pull tab that can be pulled to pull taut the deformable slider. A blister package is also provided that includes a hinged shell having a lateral opening opposite the hinge, and a deformable slider that is folded over onto itself and seals both a top chamber and a bottom chamber. By pulling a tongue of the deformable slider, which extends from the lateral opening, the deformable slider can be removed from the closed shell and the closed shell can be opened enabling access to the contact lens.

CONTACT LENS PACKAGING SOLUTIONS

The present invention relates to a method to load a water insoluble phospholipid as nanoparticles to load into a hydrogel contact lens in autoclaving process during the hydrogel contact lens manufacturing process without an extra manufacturing step and without swelling the hydrogel contact lens with an organic solvent. The phospholipid nanoparticles loaded in hydrogel contact lens subsequently releases to the eye upon wearing.

The present invention relates to a miniature device for detecting, identifying and/or quantifying microorganisms in a sample. The device comprises a surface for contact with a sample to be analysed, said surface defining a pore and said pore comprising means for reporting the presence of a microorganism. The reporting means may comprise a solid or semi-solid substrate, a metabolic indicator; and a media and/or nutrients that support or encourage microbial growth.

Nucleated Polypropylene Resin for Primary Lens Package
20220031033 · 2022-02-03 ·

A primary package for holding contact lenses is disclosed. It is primarily made from a nucleated polypropylene resin. It has been determined that the nucleated polypropylene resin should be formulated with a polypropylene base resin with greater than 99% polypropylene homopolymer and a primary and secondary stabilizer, which also contains a catalyst acid scavenger; at least one nucleator/clarifier; and at least one catalyst acid scavenger.

Induced Aperture Lens and Method

Disclosed are lenses and methods for verifying a lens with an induced aperture. The lenses can have a geometry that, among other things, maintains a centered position about a wearer's eye to prevent more than a permissible amount of movement of the lens relative to the eye. Further disclosed is a method for verifying the power profiles used with the lens, and a lens that can have a single power profile for a wide range of presbyopia.

CONTACT LENS CASE DRAINAGE DEVICE
20220306370 · 2022-09-29 · ·

A device on which to place contact lens case components to dry. The device is a mat with drainage channels formed thereon. The contact lens components are placed on spaced-apart walls that define the drainage channels and the spaced-apart wall receive the contact lens components and hold them above the drainage channels. This arrangement allows liquid solution and residue to drain from the contact lens case components place on the mat. The mat is sloped and the liquid solution flows to a lip on one end of the mat and then off of the mat. The mat has a slightly sloped base to assist in such drainage.

Contact lens package with reduced head space

The packages described by this invention all have reduced “head space,” that is, the distance from lid to lens. Packages contain dimples to achieve this reduced head space. Specifically, packages are designed with dimple sag equal to or less than 1.90-mm, or volume displaced equal to or less than 360 μl. Combined with the existing primary packaging, it has been found that such conditions provide for reduction in folded lens rate during shipping and handling. As well, lenses stored or having an extended time in low head space packages in a “foil down” orientation now have characteristics closer lenses stored in a “foil up orientation.”

Contact lens package with micro-textured interior bowl surface

A container for a contact lens, having a micro-textured pattern on an interior surface thereof to prevent adherence of the lens to the container. In-container inspection of the lens within the container does not recognize the micro-textured pattern of the container as a defect on the lens.

Protective lens holder

The present disclosure relates to holders for protecting intraocular lenses and methods of use. The holder includes a posterior wall and an annular wall extending anteriorly from the posterior wall and having an anterior edge. An internal space is defined by the posterior wall and the annular wall. The internal space is sized to receive a lens body of the intraocular lens. The holder also includes a locking feature configured to secure the intraocular lens. At least a portion of the locking feature is anterior to the intraocular lens when positioned in the holder.
