OPTHALMOLOGICAL COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF USE THEREOF
The invention is directed to compositions comprising polysorbate 80, poloxamer 407, poloxamer 188, polyoxyl 35 castor oil, hydroxypropyl gamma cyclodextrin, hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, polyethylene glycol 400, mannitol, magnesium chloride, sodium chloride and potassium sorbate. The invention is further directed to a method of treating dry eye comprising topically applying compositions of the present invention to the eye of a subject in need thereof.
Contact lens dispenser
Contact lens dispensers are provided including a pens dispenser having an interior and a dispensing end. A delivery screw is provided in the interior of the tubular housing. The delivery screw has a thread pitch and a plurality of contact lenses, one contact lens per pitch. Upon actuation of an actuator, each contact lens moves along the thread by a distance of one pitch and a single contact lens is dispensed from the dispensing end of the tubular housing. A case and disposable foil contact lens cartridge are also provided as a re a case and disposable contact lens foil spool, wherein actuation of push-buttons dispense contact lenses ready for immediate application onto an eye.
Antioxidant Contact Lens
A contact lens having antioxidant properties is described as well as methods of manufacturing the same. The contact lens can be present in a sealed contact lens package. The seal contact lens package can include at least a) a plastic base member having a cavity; b) a contact lens packaging solution in the cavity; c) a sterile, unworn contact lens immersed in the contact lens packaging solution in the cavity; and d) a cover that forms a liquid-tight seal with the plastic base member. As an example, the unworn contact lens is a silicone hydrogel contact lens having present therein vitamin E. The vitamin E is non-releasable from the unworn contact lens and the contact lens packaging solution has less than 1 ppm of vitamin E present. The vitamin E is trapped, embedded, absorbed, or non-covalently attached in the unworn contact lens.
Contact lens blister package with lens cradle
A blister package for a contact lens is provided. The blister package includes a body defining a handle and a well, a flexible top contacting the body and closing the well, and a lens cradle that includes a lens support bowl. The lens cradle is attached to the inner surface of the flexible top. By peeling away the flexible top, the lens cradle is lifted away from the bottom surface of the well and the lens is raised out of the well, cradled by the lens support bowl, and presented for easy fingertip manipulation by a user.
Systems and methods for multi-stage sealing of contact lens packaging
A contact lens package includes a first package layer, a second package layer, a lens receiving area defined between the first and second package layers, and first and second seal portions. The first seal portion extends around a first portion of the lens receiving area. The second seal portion extends around a second portion of the lens receiving area. The second seal portion has different sealing properties than the first seal portion. The first seal portion may include a releasable seal between the first and second package layers, and the second seal portion may include a permanent seal between the first and second package layers.
Contact lens packaging
A contact lens applicator film (45) for picking up a contact lens (11) and applying the contact lens to an eye comprising: a sterilised film (45) wherein at least a portion of at least one side of the film comprises an adhesive coating that is arranged for adhering to the surface of a finger such that, in use, when applying the contact lens to the eye a user can pick up the contact lens applicator film with the finger and subsequently pick up the contact lens using the finger protected by the contact lens applicator film.
CONTACT LENS FITTING SET ASSEMBLY AND AUTOMATIC IDENTIFICATION TECHNIQUES
A system and techniques for identifying an absence of any contact fitting lens in an user-friendly manner for automated replenishment. The system includes an assembly stocked with fitting lenses of know types that are depletable from known compartment locations of the assembly. Further, depletion of a compartment through the natural course of fitting lens distribution to customers results in the automatic display of a visual indicator at the corresponding compartment location. Thus, an imaging application of the front of the assembly may be utilized to immediately ascertain lens types of the assembly which are depleted. As a result, the image may be used to facilitate automatic replenishment of such depleted fitting lenses.
METHOD FOR TRANSPORTING A BLISTER STRIP OF OPHTHALMIC LENSES INTO AN AUTOCLAVE MAGAZINE
A method for transporting a blister strip of ophthalmic lenses: only one single blister strip is provided at a start location and one magazine compartment of two magazine compartments contains n blister strips while the other magazine compartment contains n+1 blister strips, the single buster strip is picked up at the start location by one of the gripper units of a first gripper and is transported into that magazine compartment containing the n blister strips, by moving the first gripper to that magazine compartment containing the n blister strips and releasing the single blister strip from the first gripper into that magazine compartment, or by moving the first gripper to a hand-over station and releasing the single blister strip from the first gripper into the hand-over station, transporting the single blister strip from the hand-over station into that magazine compartment containing the n blister strips using a second gripper.
Package for an Ophthalmic Device Having a Multilayer Lidstock Containing a Cyclic Olefin Seal Layer
The present invention is related to a contact lens package with a heat sealable multilayer packaging lidstock formed from: a support layer and a peelable seal layer made from a polymer blend, such polymer blend formed from a material: from 40 to 85% by weight of one or more first amorphous cyclic olefin polymer(s) characterized by a glass transition temperature of at least 120° C. from 10 to 55% by weight of one or more second amorphous cyclic olefin polymer(s) characterized by a glass transition temperature of less than 120° C., and from 0.5 to 15% by weight, preferably 0.5 to 10% by weight of at least one elastomeric copolymer comprising at least one polymerized monovinylarene and at least one polymerized acyclic olefin
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR STORING, PRESERVING AND CLEANING CONTACT LENSES
Apparatus and methods for storing, preserving and cleaning contact lenses includes a base housing; one or more lens bowls transparent to selected ranges of UV and IR light wavelengths; UV and IR light sources to direct UV and IR light into the lens bowls; a removable cover opaque to the UV light; one or more closure sensors to sense the status of the cover, a power supply; and, a controller in control communication with the UV and IR light sources, the power supply and the closure sensors, the controller causing the UV and IR light sources to cease emitting when the cover is not closed.
