The system includes a medication delivery device, a dose information capture device adapted to he attached to the medication delivery device, and a target element adapted to be attached to the medication delivery device. The target element comprises a magnet or ferrous element and the target element attaches to the medication delivery device on a dose delivery mechanism of the medication delivery device. The dose information capture device includes a magnetic position sensor adapted to detect a position of the target element. As an alternative to magnetic sensing, MEMS flow sensors, and the like may also be used. Exemplary systems preferably transmit dose information in real time to remote devices for further processing,

Drug delivery device and method for assembling a drug delivery device

A drug delivery device comprises a first component and a second component, wherein a substance is provided on at least one of the first component and the second component. An inner friction of the substance is great enough to stabilize at least one of the orientation and the position of the first component and the second component with respect to one another. The inner friction of the substance is small enough to allow relative movement of the first component and the second component necessary for the intended operation of the device. Furthermore, a method for assembling a drug delivery device is provided.

DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE WITH COMBINED SETTING AND RELEASE MEMBER

Drug delivery device has drive assembly adapted to move a piston rod in a distal direction, the drive assembly comprising a drive spring. A rotatable setting member allows a user to set a dose amount to be expelled, the drive spring being strained during dose setting. User actuated release means is provided for releasing the drive spring to thereby move the piston rod in the distal direction corresponding to the set dose. The setting member can be moved axially between an initial position and a proximal setting position, and between the initial position and a distal expelling position, wherein the setting member cannot be rotated to set a dose when in the initial position, the setting member can be rotated to set a dose when in the proximal position, and a strained drive spring is released when the setting member is moved axially from the initial to the distal position.

SENSING SYSTEM FOR DETECTING A PISTON IN A MEDICAL FLUID CONTAINER

A sensing system for determining a position of a plunger within a fluid container. The sensing system includes a light source, a light detector and a controller. The light source is configured to emit light into a barrel wall of the fluid container so that the barrel wall serves as a waveguide to guide the light to travel therein in an axial direction. The light detector is positioned to detect reflected light that was emitted by the light source, traveled through the barrel wall serving as the waveguide, and then reflected off a surface of the plunger. The controller is in communication with the light detector to determine an axial position of the plunger surface based on data from the light detector of the detected reflected light.

An auto-injector operable in a single activation step. The auto-injector is automatically armed when removed from its carrying receptacle. The auto-injector may be prefilled with more than one constituent of a beneficial agent, stored in separated compartments, in such an arrangement that the compartments will automatically merge when the auto-injector is removed from its carrying receptacle.

Housing for a medical injection device

The invention relates to a medical injection device having polymeric housing. The housing comprises a moulded outer housing element and a moulded ring-shaped unitary element. The ring-shaped unitary element carries a pointer and a thread segment in predetermined and correlated positions. The pointer points to indicia on a scale drum and the thread segments guides the scale drum. The outer housing element is moulded over the unitary element to form one single component.
