A MEDICAL SYRINGE BARREL AND A MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR PRODUCING THE SAME
A medical syringe barrel and a manufacturing method for producing the same can be completed as a molded article by injection molding of a synthetic resin material without requiring post processing like polishing and can fill and administer a predetermined amount of the internal-use solution accurately. A medical syringe barrel includes a tubular barrel section for accommodating an internal-use solution in the interior thereof, an injection nozzle section formed at one end of the barrel section, and a flange section formed at an opening section on the other end of the barrel section to project radially outward. A surface of the flange section has a recess portion, and a weld line which is potentially formed by injection molding is not formed in the internal-use solution filled section.
REDUCED SPUTTERING SYRINGE
A medical syringe which is suitable for dispensing and injecting medical foams is described and claimed. The syringe has a standard syringe plunger and barrel arrangement but comprises a flexible annular flange on the inner surface of the barrel. The annular flange extends inwards and forwardly from a base portion, affixed to the inner surface of the barrel to contact the plunger shaft and form a seal. The shape and orientation of the annular flange enables injection of medical foam with reduced sputtering of the syringe contents which make administration of sclerosing foams more controllable.
Antiseptic cap that releases a gas such as nitric oxide
An antiseptic medical cap that may include a base, a sidewall, and a chamber configured to receive a proximal end of a medical fluid port having an opening. The antiseptic medical cap, in some instances, may include an insert having a gas-releasing anti-microbial compound and/or include a nitric oxide-releasing system that is configured to be positioned at least partially through the opening of the medical fluid port when the antiseptic medical cap receives the proximal end of the medical fluid port into the chamber.
HOUSING ELEMENT AND DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE HEREWITH
The present disclosure refers to a housing element for a drug delivery device. The housing element comprises longitudinal axis and defines an interior space for receiving components of a drive mechanism of the drug delivery device and at least a portion of a cartridge of the drug delivery device. The housing element comprises an engagement feature for axially constraining the housing element to a cartridge holder of the drug delivery device. In order to constrain the cartridge in the housing element, it further comprises at least one crush web protruding radially inwards into the interior space. The at least one crush web is angled relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing element by at least 3° such that when the cartridge is introduced into the interior space the at least one crush web folds radially outwards.
SAFETY SYRINGE WITH DOSE WINDOW
An apparatus includes a syringe body, a plunger, a cap, and a dose gauge. The syringe body defines a volume configured to contain a medicament. The dose gauge is disposed about at least a portion of a side wall of the syringe body, and defines a window. The cap is coupled to a proximal end portion of the syringe body, and includes an engagement portion. The plunger has a distal end portion configured to move within the volume to convey the medicament. An engagement portion of the plunger is configured to interface with the engagement portion of the cap to prevent rotation of the plunger about a longitudinal axis of the plunger. An outer surface of the plunger includes a series of indicia. At least one of the indicium is visible through the window when the plunger is in a first position within the volume.
Drive Assembly for Drug Delivery System
A drive assembly for a drug delivery system includes a plunger member configured to engage and move a stopper within a container, with the plunger member having a first position and a second position axially spaced from the first position, a leadscrew configured to move the plunger member from the first position to the second position, and a biasing member configured to bias the leadscrew in a rotational direction, where rotational movement of the leadscrew is configured to move the plunger member from the first position to the second position.
ANTISEPTIC CAP THAT RELEASES A GAS SUCH AS NITRIC OXIDE
A syringe assembly including: (1) a syringe barrel defining a chamber; (2) a plunger mounted in the chamber and moveable with respect to the barrel; and (3) a cap holder assembly containing a cap and an absorbent material removably attached to the syringe.
Injector capable of suppressing subsequent dripping of fluid
An injector comprises a cylindrical barrel, a movable body housed in the barrel, and a plunger coming into separable contact with the movable body. The movable body includes a main body having an outer diameter smaller than an inner diameter of the barrel, a disk-shaped seal body disposed on the main body and including an outer circumferential end brought into close contact with an inner circumferential surface of the barrel, and at least one projecting portion projecting from the main body toward the inner circumferential surface of the barrel. A distance from a central axis of the movable body to a leading end of the at least one projecting portion is smaller than a half of an outer diameter of the seal body.
Supplemental Device for an Injection Device
A supplemental device is configured to be coupled to an injection device. The supplemental device comprises a sensor arrangement and a processor arrangement. The processor arrangement is configured to cause the supplemental device to use the sensor arrangement to sense an identification feature of the injection device and to determine a type of the injection device based on the sensed identification feature.
Coded cartridge holder and fastener enabled by cartridge size
A coded cartridge holder for use with a drug delivery device is provided. The cartridge holder includes a fastener that becomes operative based in part on a length of a cartridge or a diameter of the cartridge. In one embodiment, the cartridge holder is coupled to the drug delivery device. The cartridge holder comprises a first blocking feature. The drug delivery device includes a cartridge detector comprising a second blocking feature. This feature may be a pin, for engagement with the first blocking feature of the cartridge holder when the cartridge acts on the cartridge detector. The cartridge holder may further include a fastening mechanism configured to fasten the cartridge holder to the drug delivery device only when the second blocking feature engages the first blocking feature.
