DEVICES AND METHODS FOR PRECISION DOSE DELIVERY
Disclosed herein are devices and methods for delivering a predetermined volume of a drug substance or other product including a fluid. An exemplary device may include a body configured to receive a drug substance therein, and a plunger rod disposed at least partially inside the body to distally move a stopper in the body. The device may include a component configured to regulate distal movement of the plunger rod in a priming step and in a subsequent delivery step, so that the device may be accurately primed and may accurately dispense a predetermined volume of a drug substance.
DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE AND MODULE HEREWITH
A drug delivery device comprises a dose setting and driving assembly for dialing and dispensing a dose of a medicament from a cartridge of the drug delivery device. The dose setting and driving assembly includes an outer housing, a number sleeve and a dose dial grip. The number sleeve and the dose dial grip are rotatable relative to the outer housing during dose dialing. The number sleeve is rotatable relative to the outer housing during dose dispensing. The dose dial grip is axially displaceable and rotationally constrained to the outer housing during dose dispensing. The dose dial grip comprises an outer skirt partially protruding out of the outer housing and comprising a profiled gripping surface at the proximal end of the dose dial grip.
Components of a fluid transfer apparatus
A system having a syringe and a connector. A proximal end of an outer housing of the connector is a specially designed female Luer element. A distal end of an outer housing of the connector is configured to connect the syringe to a component of a fluid transfer apparatus. The syringe and the connector are configured to be joined together such that they can be swiveled relative to each other around their common longitudinal axis. Once connected together, any attempt to twist the syringe or connector relative to each other in either a counterclockwise direction or a clockwise direction will result in endless swiveling about their common longitudinal axis. In other words, once the system is connected together, the syringe cannot be disconnected from the connector.
Syringe assembly with inverse delivery
A reduced profile syringe assembly is provided that includes an overall profile that is substantially similar to a profile of a syringe barrel. The syringe assembly includes a plunger rod that is significantly disposed within the syringe barrel when filled for use, with the plunger rod adapted to be retracted from the syringe barrel during dispensing of contents of the syringe barrel.
Injection device with ergonomic housing form factor
An injection device comprises a housing having a proximal end, a distal end and a longitudinal axis extending therebetween. The housing has a hand grip portion with a non-rotationally symmetric cross section about the longitudinal axis of the device at the proximal end of the housing.
LOW DOSE SYRINGE INCLUDING AN AIR VENTING SYSTEM
Medical devices capable of filling liquid into a syringe barrel while evacuating any air from the syringe are described. An exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel having a tapered sidewall portion for permitting air to vent from the chamber and preventing liquid from exiting the chamber, a plunger rod, and stopper. Another exemplary medical device includes a syringe barrel having a plurality of air venting grooves associated with the sidewall of the barrel, a plunger rod and stopper. Also described is a medical device including a syringe barrel, plunger rod and stopper having a porous plug. Described is a medical device including a syringe barrel having a plurality of air venting grooves associated with the sidewall of the barrel and a porous membrane disposed over the air venting grooves, a plunger rod and stopper. Methods for filling a syringe barrel with a liquid are also provided.
Injector
An injector comprises a cylindrical barrel including a discharge port, a seal body coming into close contact with an inner circumferential surface of the barrel, a plunger for pushing and moving the seal body to the discharge port side of the barrel, and a stopper disposed on one of the barrel and the plunger and coming into elastic contact with the other in a radial direction of the barrel.
METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR OPERATING A PLUNGER
An apparatus can aid usage of a plunger, for example helping a medical practitioner use a hypodermic syringe to inject dermal filler. The apparatus can fasten a thumb rest of a plunger of the syringe to a thumb of the practitioner and can support one-handed operation of the syringe. With the plunger so fastened, reverse thumb motion can retract the plunger for aspiration, and forward thumb motion can advance the plunger for injection. The apparatus can comprise a member extending at least partially around the practitioner's thumb. The member can comprise an aperture configured to retain the thumb rest between the thumb and the member, with a shaft of the plunger passing through the aperture.
Medicinal fluid delivery devices and associates methods for advancing and retracting needles
Medicinal fluid delivery devices and methods for advancing and retracting needles are disclosed. According to an aspect, a medicinal fluid delivery device includes a tube that defines an interior space that extends between a first and second openings. The device includes a needle including a proximal end and a distal end that substantially align in a first direction. A portion of the distal end is biased to extend in a second direction different than the first direction. A mechanism is attached to the proximal end and configured to position the distal end between a first position and a second position. In the first position, the portion of the distal end is constrained by the interior wall such that is does not extend in the second direction. In the second position, the distal end is not constrained by the interior wall such that it extends in the second direction.
CLOSED SYSTEM TRANSFER DEVICE
A closed system transfer device (CSTD) includes a barrel, a plunger, and a connecting port fixed to the barrel. The barrel includes a first cavity and a second cavity, which are separated. A piston of the plunger is operably moved within the first cavity and divides the first cavity into a first region and a second region that communicates with the second cavity. The connecting port includes a first channel communicating with the first cavity and a second channel communicating with the second cavity. When the CSTD is connected to a drug-liquid container to draw liquid, the first region is enlarged to draw the liquid into the first region from the container through the first channel. Simultaneously, the second region is reduced to discharge air in the second region to the container through the second cavity and the second channel. Thus, the CSTD and the container form a closed environment.
