Retainer for retractable needle assemblies and syringes
A retainer for a needle assembly of a retractable syringe that includes a plunger assembly and a barrel having a mounting member. The needle assembly includes a retractable needle, a needle hub, and a retainer. The retractable needle is engageable by the plunger assembly to facilitate retraction thereof. The needle hub is mountable to the mounting member of the barrel. The retainer includes a body and at least one retaining member that extends distally from the body. The retaining member includes an inwardly projecting lateral projection to engage the retractable needle and thereby prevent inadvertent proximal movement of said retractable needle prior to retraction. A retractable needle assembly includes the retainer, and a retractable syringe includes the retractable needle assembly including the retainer. A syringe kit includes a retractable syringe, a plurality of retractable needle assemblies, and a vial adapter.
LIQUID MEDICAMENT ADMINISTRATION DEVICE
A liquid medicament administration device includes a body configured to contain and support a medicament container. The body includes an aperture. The aperture includes a viewing window that is coincident with the medicament container when the medicament container is present. The device is configured such that the viewing window is size-adjustable. Also disclosed are associated methods of manufacture.
Supplemental device for attachment to an injection device
A supplemental device for attachment to an injection device, the supplemental device comprising: a housing; an electromechanical switch arrangement having an open state and a closed state, the electromechanical switch arrangement comprising a protrusion configured to contact a surface of the injection device while the supplemental device is attached to the injection device; a dose dialed detector operable to detect a dose of medicament dialed into the attached injection device; and a processor arrangement configured to: monitor the detected dose of medicament dialed into the attached injection device; detect a change in the state of the electromechanical switch arrangement; and change a display output of the supplemental device when a change in the state of the electromechanical switch arrangement is detected while a zero dose is dialed into the attached injection device.
THREADED PLUNGER SYRINGES WITH TACTILE FEEDBACK
The present disclosure is directed to threaded plunger syringes with tactile feedback mechanisms and method of using such syringes. The syringes can include a first configuration, wherein the threads of the threaded plunger are engaged by the syringe such that fluid delivery can be precisely controlled, and a second configuration, wherein the threads of the threaded plunger are not engaged such that the syringe can act similar to that of a conventional plunger syringe. In addition, the syringes can include a tactile feedback mechanism that provides tactile feedback when a predetermined amount of fluid volume is dispersed.
AUTOINJECTOR WITH A SEPARABLE ELECTRONICS MODULE
An injection device for subcutaneously administrating a maximum content of a product container through a cannula at a distal end of the product container, comprising a device housing having an opening at a proximal end, a module housing for covering the opening, which module housing is separable from the device housing by a separating operation, a drive which is arranged in the device housing, for moving an advancing element and for the one-time automatic ejection of the contents of the product container. An electronics module is held in the module housing, with a sensor for detecting the discharging, and a mechanical securing mechanism is provided for enabling the separating operation as or after the automatic ejection is triggered.
TESTING ASSEMBLIES AND TESTING METHODS FOR DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES
A testing assembly for a drug delivery device is disclosed. The testing assembly can include a pressure vessel having a sealed pressure chamber that is configured to be pressurized to a predetermined pressure. The pressure vessel further defines an injection opening extending from an exterior thereof to the pressure chamber. A pierceable barrier extends over and seals the injection opening. The testing assembly further includes a measurement device disposed within the pressure chamber and a container aligned with the injection opening, such that the container is configured to collect a dose of a drug delivered via a drug delivery device through the pierceable barrier and the measurement device is configured to measure the dose of the drug.
SYSTEMS, KITS AND METHODS FOR LOADING AND DELIVERING A SMALL VOLUME DOSE FROM A SYRINGE
A kit is disclosed for accurately loading a small volume dose of a medication within a syringe and for delivering the small volume dose of the medication at a treatment site. The kit generally includes a loading and delivery system in accordance herewith, a syringe, and a medication. The loading and delivery system includes a syringe delivery ring and a syringe loading guide, which may be used for example, to administer a small volume dose of a medication at the end of an ocular surgery.
Mechanism for a drug delivery device
The present invention concerns a mechanism for a drug delivery device, having a longitudinal axis and comprising a first member comprising a first contact surface and a second member comprising a second contact surface, wherein the first member is configured to be assembled to the second member, wherein the first member and the second member are configured such that the first contact surface abuts the second contact surface when the first member is assembled to the second member, wherein the first contact surface is arranged such that a force applied to the mechanism in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis is split up into a first component in a direction perpendicular to a surface normal of the first contact surface and a second component parallel to the surface normal, wherein the first member and the second member are configured such that the first member is detached from the second member by the force applied to the mechanism in a direction parallel to the longitudinal axis if the absolute value of the force is stronger than a first predetermined value, and wherein the first predetermined value is defined as the absolute value of the force which has a first component strong enough to move the first contact surface out of abutment with the second member.
Medication injector with capacitive fill level measurement capacity, and contact sensor
A medication injector for dispensing liquid medications to people includes a container which is filled with the liquid and which has an opening at one end for dispensing the liquid and at least one pair of capacitive measuring electrodes disposed opposite each other in the outer region of the container, in particular on the wall, for determining the permittivity of the respective medium in the intermediate region between the measuring electrodes. The measuring electrodes are used by the injector to determine the fill level of the container. A shielding surrounds the measuring electrodes in the manner of a sheath, is disposed around the container, and reduces possible external interfering influences on the capacitive measurement, such as those resulting from contact, for example. Additionally, a contact sensor is provided which can indicate the measurement as invalid.
Multi-dose drug delivery device
A wearable drug delivery device that can deliver a liquid drug stored in a container to a patient is provided. The container can be a prefilled cartridge that can be loaded into the drug delivery device by the patient or that can be preloaded within the drug delivery device when provided to the patient. A sealed end of the container is pierced to couple the stored liquid drug to a needle conduit that is coupled to a needle insertion component that provides access to the patient. A drive system of the drug delivery device can expel the liquid drug from the cartridge to the patient through the needle conduit. The drive system can be controlled to provide the liquid drug to the patient in a single dose or over multiple doses.
