Drug delivery devices, finger-grip elements for use with syringes, and related methods are disclosed. A drug delivery device may include a syringe and a finger-grip element. The syringe may include a barrel, a barrel flange extending radially outwardly with respect to a longitudinal axis of the barrel, and a plunger moveably disposed within the barrel. The finger-grip element may be coupled with the barrel flange. The finger-grip element may have a first distally facing surface having a first contour configured to: inhibit or prevent at least a first finger of a user from moving in a radially outward direction with respect to the longitudinal axis during use of the syringe to deliver a drug, and/or exert a first reaction force on at least the first finger of the user in a direction parallel or substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis during use of the syringe to deliver the drug.

Fill-finish assemblies and related methods

Fill-finish assemblies facilitating the manufacture of a drug delivery device are disclosed. The fill-finish assembly may include a container, an insertion mechanism, a fluid pathway connection assembly disposed between the container and the insertion mechanism, and a carrier. The insertion mechanism may include a delivery member and an insertion mechanism housing. The insertion mechanism may be configured to move the delivery member from a retracted position inside the insertion mechanism housing to a deployed position outside the insertion mechanism housing. The fluid pathway connection assembly may be selectively activatable to establish fluid communication between the container and the delivery member. The carrier may have a hollow interior containing at least a portion of each of the container, the insertion mechanism, and the fluid pathway connection assembly. The carrier may be configured to hold the container, the insertion mechanism, and the fluid pathway connection assembly in alignment with each other.

Syringe Packaging System Including Oxygen Absorber

A syringe packaging system that includes a packaging member defining a first compartment, a second compartment, and a third compartment that are in gaseous communication theretogether is disclosed. The first compartment is structured to receive a syringe barrel therein, the second compartment is structured to receive a plunger rod therein, and the third compartment is structured to receive an oxygen absorber therein. With the packaging member enclosing the syringe barrel, the plunger rod, and the oxygen absorber, the oxygen absorber is adapted to draw oxygen from within the syringe barrel and to absorb oxygen contained within at least one of the first compartment, the second compartment, and the third compartment of the packaging member. The syringe packaging system of the present disclosure also allows for reduced storage space of a syringe assembly.

A supplementary device is configured to be attached to a drug delivery device. The supplementary device comprises a non-contact sensor configured to output signals indicative of the position of a moveable component within the drug delivery device. The supplementary device further comprises a processor configured to receive the signals output from the non-contact sensor. This processor is additionally configured to determine, based on the signals, whether the drug delivery device is in a pre-activation state or a post-activation state.

Injection device with dosing control means

An injection device provides a casing which accommodates or forms a reservoir for a liquid drug; a plunger rod which can move relative to the casing in an axially forward direction to deliver the drug; and a dosing means which can move in the forward direction relative to the casing to prime the reservoir and which can rotate relative to the casing for selecting a dose to be injected. Rotation of the dosing means relative to the casing is prevented until a priming operation for priming the reservoir is completed. The dosing means comprises a dosing control means which is configured to enable rotation of the dosing means at the end of the priming stroke for selecting the dose and to prevent a rotation of the dosing means back into the position which the dosing means had at the end of the priming stroke relative to the casing.

SYRINGE PACKAGING SYSTEM

A syringe packaging system that includes a tube and a cap for enclosing a pre-filled syringe is disclosed. The tube includes a tube cut flange and the cap includes a cut skirt. With a syringe barrel contained within the tube, a syringe barrel cut flange is aligned with the tube cut flange. With the pre-filled syringe enclosed within the tube and the cap, the cut skirt of the cap surrounds the syringe barrel cut flange. In one embodiment, a film is securable to a portion of the tube and a portion of the cap to connect the tube and the cap with the pre-filled syringe enclosed within the cap and the tube.

SYRINGE PACKAGING SYSTEM AND SHELL

A syringe packaging system including a shell for enclosing a pre-filled syringe is disclosed. The shell includes a first portion having a proximal end and a distal end having a disk-shaped bottom portion; and a second portion having a proximal end and a distal end. With the first portion engaged with the second portion to form the shell, the proximal end of the first portion and the proximal end of the second portion together define a syringe flange having a top wall that defines a shell proximal aperture, a bottom wall, and a sidewall.
