Apparatus and methods for tracking administering of medication by syringe

An apparatus and methods for tracking administering of medication by syringes is provided. The apparatus may include a plunger head for a syringe. The plunger head may include a transducer that sends and receives ultrasonic signals. The plunger may also include an antenna and a microcontroller that interfaces with the transducer and the antenna. The plunger may also include a power source that powers the microcontroller and the transducer. The transducer, the antenna, the microcontroller, and the power source may be at least partially encapsulated in an elastomer housing that fits within a barrel of the syringe. The microcontroller may be programmed with instructions to calculate data representative of the quantity of medication dispensed from the barrel and transmit the data to a remote device via the antenna.

Systems and methods of a dosage verification system are disclosed that can be used by a healthcare worker or an individual self-administering an injection to create a digital record verifying the dosage of a medicinal fluid drawn into a syringe prior to an injection. The dosage verification system includes a medical syringe and an imaging device configured to view and selectively capture, process, store, and transmit a digital image of the syringe from which the volumetric dose of medicinal fluid drawn into the fluid chamber of the barrel can be determined and/or verified prior to an injection.

Self-pumping syringe

A syringe is provided. The syringe includes a syringe barrel including an open proximal end, a closed distal end, and a sidewall extending therebetween. The syringe also includes: a plunger having an annular sidewall configured to seal against an interior surface of the sidewall of the syringe barrel, the plunger being configured to move through the syringe barrel in proximal and distal directions; a pump in fluid communication with an interior volume of the syringe barrel, the pump being configured to draw fluid from the syringe barrel; and a nozzle including a lumen in fluid communication with the pump and configured to receive fluid drawn from the syringe barrel by the pump and to expel the fluid through a distal end of the lumen. The pump can be a valve-less piston pump.

Delivery of esketamine for the treatment of depression

The present invention provides devices and methods for treating depression in a patient, comprising administering to the patient in need of the treatment a therapeutically effective amount of esketamine. In some embodiments, the depression is major depressive disorder or treatment resistant depression. In other embodiments, the therapeutically effective amount is clinically proven safe and/or effective. Also provided are methods to mitigate the risk or misuse or abuse of esketamine, instructions for use of the esketamine product, and methods for selling a drug product containing esketamine.

Pen-Type Injector

The present invention relates to injectors, such as pen-type injectors, that provide for administration of medicinal products from a multidose-cartridge and permit a user to set the delivery dose. The injector may include a housing, a piston rod adapted to operate through the housing, a dose dial sleeve located between the housing and the piston rod, and a drive sleeve located between the dose dial sleeve and the piston rod. The dose dial sleeve may have a helical thread of first lead and the drive sleeve may have a helical groove of second lead. The first lead of the helical thread and the second lead of the helical groove may be the same.

SENSOR FOR USE WITH A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
