DEVICE FOR THE DOSED ADMINISTRATION OF A FLUID PRODUCT, ADAPTED FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF A CONTAINER
A device for administering a fluid product includes a first housing part with a receiver for the product, a second housing part detachably connectable to the first housing part, a piston rod held such that it can be displaced for the exertion of an emptying movement, an actuatable or releasable drive element for the piston rod, a coupling element including a coupling input element that couples the drive element to the piston rod in a coupling engagement, transmits a driving force of the drive element to the piston rod, and triggers the emptying movement, and a decoupling element displaceably connected to the second housing part and coupled to the first housing part such that it is displaced, by a movement of the housing parts in relation to each other when the housing parts are separated into a decoupling position wherein the piston rod is decoupled from the coupling input element.
Drive mechanisms suitable for use in drug delivery devices
The present disclosure is directed to a dose setting mechanism that may be used with a drug delivery device. The dose setting mechanism may include an inner body having a helical thread along an outer cylindrical surface of the inner body, and a drive sleeve for driving a piston rod in an axial direction, the drive sleeve positioned within at least a portion of the inner body. The dose setting mechanism may further include a dose dial sleeve rotatably engaged with the helical thread of the inner body and a dial grip connected to the dose dial sleeve and releasably connected to the drive sleeve. Further when a dose is set, the dial grip is rotated so that both the dose dial sleeve and the drive sleeve rotate with respect to the inner body.
CODED COLLAPSIBLE DRUG RESERVOIR
A coded collapsible drug reservoir and a drug delivery system including the coded collapsible drug reservoir. The drug reservoir includes a collapsible housing and a port in communication with the collapsible housing. The drug reservoir further includes a coding feature disposed on the drug reservoir, and the coding feature identifies the drug reservoir.
MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHODS FOR DELIVERING DRUGS TO INFANTS AND CHILDREN
A method of delivering epinephrine includes placing a distal end surface of a medical injector into contact with a target location of a patient. The medical injector includes a housing, an energy storage member, and a medicament container containing a dose of epinephrine effective for administration to the patient experiencing anaphylaxis and having a weight of less than 15 kg. The medicament container is coupled to a needle. The medical injector is actuated such that the energy storage member produces a force to move the needle from a first needle position to a second needle position. A distal tip of the needle extends from the distal end surface by a distance of between 7 millimeters and 8 millimeters when the needle is in the second needle position. A portion of the force is exerted to expel the dose of epinephrine when the needle is in the second position.
Injection device and assembly method
An injection device includes a housing containing a cartridge containing a medicament and a movable bung. The housing includes an inner thread. The injection device includes a piston rod for moving the bung during dose dispensing. The piston rod includes an outer thread engaging the inner thread of the housing a bearing at its end facing the bung. The injection device further includes a driver coupled to the piston rod for driving the piston rod during dose dispensing. In the unused delivery state of the device, the bearing abuts the bung. The invention further refers to an assembly method for such an injection device.
Pen-type injector
The present invention relates to injectors, such as pen-type injectors, that provide for administration of medicinal products from a multidose cartridge and permit a user to set a delivery dose. An injector may include a housing, a cartridge containing a medicinal product, the cartridge being retained within the housing, a dose setting mechanism to select a dose of the medicinal product to be expelled, and a dose delivery mechanism to expel the selected dose of the medicinal product. The housing may be a unitary housing within which the dose setting mechanism and the dose delivery mechanism are moveably retained.
Pen-type injector
A pen-type injector is improved so that a user may select a delivery dose of a medicinal product from a multidose cartridge. The injector includes a housing, a cartridge containing the medicinal product retained within the housing, a piston rod, a dose selecting member to select the dose of medicinal product to be expelled, and a drive member to expel the selected dose of the medicinal product. The housing is formed unitary so that the dose selecting member and the drive member are moveably retained within the housing. The injector may include a ratchet associated with an insert to ensure the piston rod only rotates in a single direction through the insert, a button located on the drive member, and a clutch which upon depression of the button prevents rotation between the dose selecting member and the drive member.
Drug Delivery Device
It is provided a drug delivery device (1) comprising: a housing (4), a number sleeve (7) contained within the housing (4) and being rotatable with respect thereto and an axial retention mechanism (6) which is designed to axially restrain the number sleeve (7) to the housing (4) and to allow rotation of the number sleeve (7) with respect to the housing (4), wherein the axial retention mechanism (6) comprises a retention element (11). It is further provided a method of assembly of such a drug delivery device (1).
Drug administering device and assembly method therefor
The present disclosure refers to drug administering devices that may include a casing front portion in which a cavity is formed and which includes front connecting means, a drug container received in the cavity, a casing rear portion comprising a piston rod which is displaceable into the cavity, and rear connecting means for releasably connecting to the front connecting means, wherein said casing front portion comprises at least two members which, in locking engagement with each other, delimit a front portion of the cavity and a rear portion having a cross section which is narrower than that of the front portion and too narrow for the drug container to pass.
PEN NEEDLE REMOVAL DEVICE FOR A DRUG DELIVERY DEVICE
A removal device (121, 221) for removing and disposing of a pen needle (113, 213) connectable to a drug delivery device (111, 211) includes a body (123, 223) having a cavity (141, 241) for receiving the pen needle of the drug delivery device such that a patient end (116, 216) of a needle (115, 215) of the pen needle is covered by the body. An ejector (151, 251) is movably connected to the body (123, 223) for engaging the received pen needle (113, 213) and selectively ejecting the engaged pen needle from the body. The pen needle (113, 213) is securely retained within the removal device (121, 221) without exposing the needle (115, 215) of the pen needle until the pen needle (113, 213) can be properly disposed of, such as in a sharps container, thereby substantially preventing an accidental needle stick.
