MACHINE FOR THE PREPARATION OF MEDICAL PRODUCT WITH DEVICE FOR LOADING SYRINGES OF MEDICAL PRODUCT
A machine for the preparation of a medical product with a worktop includes a hole for introducing syringes such that the injection points thereof are positioned for filling by the machine and a device for loading syringes. The device includes a fixed portion and a moveable portion, it being possible for the moveable portion to slide with respect to the fixed portion. The fixed portion includes housings for syringes that extend in a direction that is not parallel to that of the movement of the moveable portion. The moveable portion includes housings for syringes that extend in the direction of movement of the moveable portion. Two points of the movement of the moveable portion define a working position where the housings are aligned such that each pair of housings of the fixed portion and moveable portion receive the same syringe. The housings are misaligned in the loading position.
RETRACTABLE SLEEVE FOR PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A needle hub assembly for a pen needle includes a needle hub, a cannula or needle coupled to the needle hub, a retractable and compressible sleeve covering at least one end of the cannula, and an outer cover. The outer cover encloses the needle hub and the retractable sleeve. The retractable sleeve is coupled to the hub to cover the end of the cannula where the sleeve can pass through or can be pierced by the cannula and the sleeve retracts axially on the cannula. The sleeve is resilient and returns to an original configuration when an insertion force is released. The needle hub can have a first sleeve to cover a patient end of the cannula, and second sleeve to cover a non-patient end of the cannula where the sleeves retract onto the cannula or hub and expand to the original configuration to cover the ends of the cannula.
Medical injector cap remover
A cap remover for removing a cap covering a needle of a medical injector includes a body having an insertion portion at its proximal end configured to at least partially accommodate the cap, and a grabbing portion at its distal end having an internal cavity which includes an extraction member having a series of laminas extending radially and inwardly from a ring.
Medical consumable storage, dispensing, and disposal system
A suture storage, dispensing, and disposal device is disclosed. The device provides a method for storing sutures or other medical consumables, dispensing the sutures or other medical consumables, and disposing of used sutures or other medical consumables.
Diabetic medication delivery pen packet
A packet for a medication delivery pen comprises a pen cap integrally connected to one, some, or all of the devices listed: an unused pen needle dispenser, sharps container for used needles, folding glucose monitor, constant glucose monitor, glucose tablets/candy, lancing device, or glucose test strip holder. The integrated pen cap is configured to replace the pen cap normally supplied with the pen and the attachments and devices featured put all items needed by a diabetic in one device. This device also gives the diabetic freedom in choosing which devices they would like to or would like not to carry with them, and in what manner so as to have the highest convenience to the diabetic.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR SAFELY COLLECTING AND DISPOSING OF SHARPS WASTE
A vacuuming apparatus for collecting and disposing of sharps waste is disclosed. The sharps waste may include a used hypodermic needle. The vacuuming apparatus includes a passageway including a sidewall defining an interior chamber. The passageway includes an open suction end and an open nozzle end dimensioned to receive the sharps waste. The vacuuming apparatus includes a discharge port located at the suction end and in gaseous communication with a container, such as a used sharps container. The vacuuming apparatus includes a fan, that when operated, is configured to move air from the open nozzle end to the suction end and into the container such that the sharps waste may be moved in an airstream from a surface proximate to the open nozzle end into the container.
Two stage grinder particularly suitable for medical waste disposal
Featured are a two-stage grinder, an apparatus embodying same and methods related thereto. Such a medical waste grinder includes a first stage and a second stage. The first stage includes spring loaded cutter stacks mounted on two adjacent shafts between two edge plates, each of the cutter stacks including cutters arranged in a helix to create space, each cutter including a number of teeth per blade and including a major diameter and a minor diameter, each cutter turning opposite a fixed counter knife enabling a pinching action against the teeth of the cutter. The second stage includes spring loaded cutter stacks.
PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY APPARATUS
A pen needle assembly apparatus includes a housing (30), a movable gripping assembly (32) for gripping a pen needle assembly (18), and an actuator (108). The housing (30) has a top end (34), a bottom end (36), and an inner cavity (38) for storing used pen needle assemblies. The gripping assembly (32) in one embodiment includes two movable jaws (58) that are movable to engage and grip the outer cover (22) of the pen needle assembly (18) so that the needle hub (16) can be separated from the outer cover (22) and placed back in the outer cover (22) after use of the pen needle. The actuator (108) is connected to the jaws (58) where movement of the actuator separates the jaws to release the outer cover of the pen needle assembly. The housing (30) has an opening 160) for engaging the inner shield (24) of the pen needle assembly to remove the inner shield (24) from the needle hub (16).
Single use delivery device prefilled with a reconstitutable agent
The invention is a single use delivery device configured to enable reconstitution of a lyophilized agent (e.g., vaccine, drug, medicament, etc.) stored within for subsequent delivery of the reconstituted fluid agent to a patient in a controlled manner and without requiring specialized skill in reconstituting the agent or administering delivery of such agent. The delivery device is prefilled with an individual dose of a lyophilized agent and configured to be filled on-site and in the field with a dose of diluent for reconstitution of the lyophilized agent, while remaining sterile and preventing the potential for contamination during the filling process. The delivery device is further configured to be rendered incapable of reuse followings its intended use of delivering the fluid agent to a patient, thereby preventing reuse of the device and reducing the risk of the spreading blood-borne diseases through reuse.
Method and apparatus for sharps protection
Devices and methods are disclosed for protecting individuals from the sharp ends of medical objects following use on a patient. Such sharp objects include hypodermic needles, scalpel blades, cannulae, trocars, and the like. The protective cover is designed to surround and sequester the sharp in a shell that is will not permit further puncture or cutting with the sharp. In an embodiment, the protective cover also absorbs any fluids on or in the used sharp and prevents any fluids from escaping the protective cover. The devices are configured to be integral to procedure trays or kits such that space and discarded materials are minimized along with the potential for injuring someone with a used, contaminated medical sharp.
