INJECTION DEVICE
An injection device including a barrel having a medicament reservoir therein capable of fluid communication with a needle assembly at a distal end thereof and sealed at a proximal end thereof with a stopper. The injection device further includes a plunger rod having a distal rod end which is couplable with said stopper, wherein, when the plunger rod is coupled to the stopper, forward axial movement of the plunger rod causes forward axial movement of the stopper coupled thereto into the medicament reservoir in order to expel medicament through the needle assembly. Further, the plunger rod can be decoupled from the stopper by applying a rearward axial force on the plunger rod, said rearward axial decoupling force being less than a rearward axial force required to move the stopper rearwardly with respect to the barrel.
Syringe Exchange Device
A device configured to receive and safely store a plurality of used needle-containing medical apparatus such as syringes, IV catheter introducers, bodily fluid collection devices and blood collection tube holders and to dispense a sterile medical apparatus having the same or a similar shape, size and configuration as that deposited into the device.
A Waste Container for a Medicament Delivery Device, and a Medicament Delivery Device for Disposal in the Waste Container
A waste container (10) for medicament delivery devices, which waste container (10) comprises, a first compartment (12), a second compartment (14), a receiving compartment (22) for accommodating a medicament delivery device inserted into the waste container (10), a separation tool (24) for interacting with a medicament delivery device, and wherein the separation tool (24) is arranged to separate a first part (52) from a second part (54), of a medicament delivery device, accommodated in the receiving compartment (22), such that the first part (52) is stored in the first compartment (12) and the second part (54) is stored in the second compartment (14).
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR NEEDLE DISPOSAL
Provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for disposal of needles. In particular, provided herein are devices, systems, and methods for safe and efficient disposal of medical and research needles.
APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING A PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY
A storage device (30) for storing a pen needle assembly (10) includes a housing (30) having first wells (44) with a dimension for receiving the pen needle assembly and second wells (46) for receiving an inner shield (24) of the pen needle assembly. The second wells (46) have a diameter less than a diameter of the first wells (44). An ejector (40) in the housing (34) can be actuated to eject the used needle hub (16) and outer covers (22) from the first well (44) and the inner shield (24) from the second well (46) for disposal. A method of coupling a pen needle delivery device to a needle hub is also provided.
Needle guard
A needle guard assembly having a resilient arm extending from a base situated to slide along the shaft of a needle. In one implementation the needle guard has an elongate containment member that rides with the resilient arm and is co-operable with the resilient arm to effectuate a covering of the entire distal tip of the needle upon the needle being retracted into the needle guard.
Device for handling medical waste products
The present invention relates to a device for receiving and handling specific medical waste products to be stored in a safe container (10; 100), comprising a receiving mechanism (14; 126) arranged with a compartment (48; 131) for receiving a medicament container, which compartment (48; 131) is operably arranged to be moved from a first position wherein a medical waste product may be entered into said compartment to a second position wherein the medical waste product is entered into the safe container (10; 100), at least one first locking element (25; 118) operably arranged to releasably lock said compartment (48; 131) from being moved to said second position, said at least one first locking element (25; 118) being configured such that a medical waste product placed in said compartment (48; 131) constitutes a keying element for unlocking said compartment (48), and a monitoring unit (60; 200) comprising a detection mechanism (64; 150, 170) capable of detecting that said compartment (48; 131) has been moved from said first position to said second position.
DATA-ENABLED SYRINGE COLLECTION CONTAINER AND SYSTEMS USING SAME
A data-enabled syringe collection container. The data-enabled syringe collection container may include an upper inlet body; a container body coupled to the upper inlet body; an electronics module configured for sensing and tracking dose events, the electronics module coupled to at least one of the upper inlet body or the container body; and wherein the upper inlet body may include an inlet lid; a first opening; an entry channel; and a receiving assembly including a dropout door, and wherein the inlet lid is configured for covering and accessing the first opening, the entry channel is configured to provide a passage way from the first opening to the receiving assembly, and the dropout door is configured to allow passage through a second opening into the container body.
Pen needle with safety shield system
A needle tip for an injection device includes a body having a front portion, a back portion configured to be removably connected to the pre-loaded injection device, and a wall separating the front and back portions. A hollow needle has a first piercing portion projecting back from the separating wall and a second piercing portion projecting forward from the separating wall. A safety shield that is axially movable relative to the body at least between an initial position, a retracted position, and a post use locking position. This Abstract is not intended to define the invention disclosed in the specification, nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
PEN NEEDLE ASSEMBLY HAVING AN OUTER COVER
A needle hub assembly for coupling to a pen needle delivery device includes an outer cover having a first well receiving the needle hub and inner shield covering a cannula of the needle hub. A second well is spaced from the first well and receives the inner shield. In use, the pen delivery device is coupled to the connecting end of the needle hub to withdraw the needle hub and inner shield from the first well. The inner shield is inserted into the second well where the inner shield is gripped so that the inner shield can be separated from the needle hub without the user handling the outer cover or the inner shield. After use, the needle hub is inserted into the first well and the pen needle delivery device is separated from the needle hub. The needle hub is retained within the first well where the outer cover containing the used needle hub and inner shield can be discarded as a single unit.
