Syringe and method of preparing syringe
A syringe (18) has a longitudinal body (28) with an interior (228) in which a pharmaceutical substance is arranged, a needle connected to one longitudinal end of the body (228) and a rigid needle shield (38) encasing the needle. The rigid needle shield (38) is essentially water vapour tight. The syringe (18) according to the invention allows for preventing needle clogging and, thus, proper provision of pharmaceuticals, particularly by subcutaneous, intramuscular or ocular injection.
INJECTION NEEDLE HAVING VARYING CALIBER
An injection needle includes a first needle portion defining a first outer diameter, a second needle portion defining a second outer diameter that is smaller than the first outer diameter, the second needle portion having a tip configured to penetrate a soft tissue. Importantly, the first end of the second needle portion is positioned substantially inside and coupled to an inner surface of the first needle portion adjacent an angled section that is positioned adjacent a distal end of the first needle portion. In addition, the first and second needle portions may be crimped or pinched together into a unitary construction that still allows a pharmaceutical to pass therethrough.
Medical Container, Such as a Pre-fillable or Prefilled Syringe, Comprising a RFID Tag for Remote Identification of Said Medical Container
This medical container includes a barrel defining a reservoir for containing a medical product, and a needle extending in a barrel channel provided at a distal end of the barrel so as to establish a fluid communication between the reservoir and the needle. The medical container further includes a RFID on-metal (ROM) tag, said RFID on-metal tag being located at least partly inside the barrel channel and having an antenna extending along the needle.
SAFETY SHIELDS FOR ELONGATED INSTRUMENTS AND RELATED SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A system can include an elongated instrument that is positioned within a cannula portion of a cannula assembly. The system can include a shield that is coupled with both the elongated instrument and the cannula assembly when in an unlocked state. The shield can permit proximal movement of the elongated instrument relative thereto when in the unlocked state. The shield can automatically transition to a locked state to attach to a distal end of the elongated instrument to restrict access to a distal tip of the elongated instrument.
LOW-DRAG SEPTUM FOR A CATHETER SYSTEM
A peripheral intravenous catheter assembly may include a low-drag septum. The septum may include a body having a distal end and a proximal end, which may be sealed. The septum may include a slot disposed within an outer surface of the body and oriented along a longitudinal axis of the body. The slot may include a distal end spaced apart from the distal end of the body, and a proximal end spaced apart from the proximal end of the body. An introducer needle may extend through the slot.
Needle with multi-bevel tip geometry
A multi-beveled needle point geometry for hypodermic needles such as pen needles. A proximal bevel is formed at a first angle of inclination, a pair of intermediate bevels at a second angle of inclination, and a pair of distal bevels at a third angle of inclination and differing angles of rotation. The second angle of inclination is substantially different than the first angle of inclination to define a marked apex at the intersections between the proximal bevel and the intermediate bevels. At least one smooth transition is typically provided between adjacent bevels, between a bevel and an outer surface of the needle, and/or between a bevel and the lumen of the needle.
Needle arrangement
The present disclosure relates to a needle arrangement for a drug delivery device. The needle arrangement includes a distal needle tip and a proximal needle tip. The distal needle tip is held in a distal needle holder and wherein the proximal needle tip is held in a proximal needle holder. The distal needle tip and the proximal needle tip are in fluid communication with each other through a fluid channel. The fluid channel is adapted to allow axial movement of the distal needle tip and relative to the proximal needle tip between a compact state and an extended state. A length of the needle arrangement over the distal needle tip and the proximal needle tip in the extended state is greater than in the compact state.
Spring cannulae
Disclosed herein are embodiments of spring cannulae, including one or more holes in the sidewall of the cannula. Some disclosed cannulae include a wire, helically wound to form coils, and at least one hole in the cannula that interrupts one or more of the coils. Some embodiments further include a fused region of the coils through which the hole passes. Some embodiments include a ring attached to ends of the interrupted coils, where the hole is surrounded by the ring. Some embodiments include a sheath that is attached to a radial surface of the interrupted coils, where the hole passes radially though the sheath.
MEDICAL SYRINGE WITH NEEDLE GUARD
A syringe with needle protection with a plunger displaceable by means of an actuating plunger in the interior of a syringe body is designed for particularly effective delivery of the active substance with the lowest possible residual portion in the syringe that is not delivered. For this purpose, the plunger has a needle holder for receiving the syringe needle, the needle bearing of which is arranged on a retaining bracket, leaving a number of lateral inflow surfaces free.
INSTRUMENT FOR A MEDICAMENT DELIVERY DEVICE THAT ACTS AS NEEDLE AND CANNULA
Exemplary embodiments may provide a medicament delivery device that includes a single instrument for piercing the skin of the user and for acting as a conduit for delivering medicament to the user subcutaneously. The exemplary embodiments may reduce discomfort caused by a rigid cannula or needle. The exemplary embodiments may provide instruments that are configured to be comfortable to the user when the instruments are in place beneath the skin of the user, such as when a medicament delivery device is delivering medicament to the user.
