Thin film metallic glass coated needle
A thin film metallic glass coated needle includes a needle body, a needle head and a thin film metallic glass in amorphous structure and formed on a surface of the needle head and a surface of the needle body to reduce a surface energy and coefficient of friction. The thin film metallic glass is a titanium based comprising 35-45 at % titanium, 5-15 at % zirconium, 32-42 at % copper, 1-11 at % niobium and 2-12 at % cobalt.
DRUG DELIVERY MEMBER INSERTION SENSING ASSEMBLIES, DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES, AND RELATED METHODS
Drug delivery member insertion depth sensing assemblies, drug delivery devices, and methods for determining an insertion depth of a drug delivery member are disclosed. The sensing assemblies can include electrical sensing assemblies with direct or indirect measurement components or optical sensing assemblies with one or more light sources and one or more photodiodes. A controller of the sensing assemblies can receive data associated with the drug delivery member in an insertion position. The data can then be correlated to an insertion depth of the drug delivery member.
SYRINGE AND METHOD OF PREPARING SYRINGE
A syringe (18) has a longitudinal body (28) with an interior (228) in which a pharmaceutical substance is arranged, a needle connected to one longitudinal end of the body (228) and a rigid needle shield (38) encasing the needle. The rigid needle shield (38) is essentially water vapour tight. The syringe (18) according to the invention allows for preventing needle clogging and, thus, proper provision of pharmaceuticals, particularly by subcutaneous, intramuscular or ocular injection.
Delivery Adapter
A delivery adapter which may be used as an interface between a syringe and a catheter hub is described.
Magnetic Shield For Medical Devices
A medical device such as a needle subassembly is disclosed including a cover over a magnetized portion of a tissue-penetrating medical device having a shielding material associated with the cover that prevents the magnetized portion of the tissue-penetrating medical device from being de-magnetized when the cover is positioned to cover the tissue-penetrating medical device.
INJECTION NEEDLE ASSEMBLY AND INJECTOR PROVIDED THEREWITH FOR INJECTING DRUG SOLUTION INTO UPPER LAYER OF SKIN
A needle assembly includes: a needle comprising a hollow needle tube, a needle tip at a distal end of the hollow needle tube, and a cutting face disposed adjacent to the needle tip; and a needle hub that includes a tip and a base end, and holds the needle at the needle tip. The needle hub includes a needle tip side end face from which the needle tip projects. An outer diameter of the needle is within a range of 0.15 mm to 0.20 mm, inclusive. A projection needle length extending from the needle tip side end face to the needle tip is within a range of 0.50 mm to 1.25 mm, inclusive. A needle body length extending from the needle tip side end face to a proximal end of the cutting face in within a range of 0.10 mm to 0.70 mm, inclusive.
VARIABLE PITCH FLEXIBLE NEEDLE
Disclosed embodiments include flexible tube assemblies, flexible needle assemblies, systems, methods of fabricating a flexible tube, and methods of fabricating a flexible needle. In an illustrative, non-limiting embodiment, a flexible tube assembly includes: a flexible tube having a proximal end with a proximal strain relief section and a distal end with a distal strain relief section, the proximal strain relief section being located between the proximal end and the distal strain relief section and the distal strain relief section being located between the distal end and the proximal strain relief section, the distal end defining an opening therein, at least a portion of at least one of the proximal strain relief section and the distal strain relief section defining therein a spiral cut with a continuously variable pitch; and tubing disposed in an airtight manner over an exterior surface of the flexible tube at least the portion of the at least one of the proximal strain relief section and the distal strain relief section defining therein the spiral cut with a continuously variable pitch.
Ocular infusion system
Systems, processes, and articles of manufacture may be used to perform ocular infusion. In particular implementations, a system for ocular infusion may include a length of flexible tubing and a tip adapted to be inserted into an eye. The flexible tubing may be adapted to convey an ocular infusion fluid and include a plurality of coils set in at least a portion thereof. The ocular tip may be coupled to a first end of the flexible tubing and adapted to convey ocular infusion fluid from the flexible tubing into an eye.
METHOD OF TREATING SPINAL DISK
A method of treating a spinal disk according to the present invention can include inserting an alloplastic bulking agent into the spinal disk to treat the defect. The alloplastic bulking agent has a plurality of microparticles and a suspending agent comprising hyaluronic acid. The bulking agent results in at least one of sealing the defect, increasing a pressure of the disk, increasing a height of the disk, improving stability of the disk and improving structural integrity of the disk.
SYSTEMS, METHODS AND HANDHELD PULSATILE ASPIRATION AND INJECTION DEVICES
Systems, devices and methods for use in liposuction and infusion medical procedures including handheld devices, micro-cannulas, curved cannulas vacuum pressure changing features.
