Hub for coupling a cannula with a transfer device
A cannula hub includes a shaft mount segment and a cannula coupling segment. A set of coupling nubbins radially extend from the outer surface of the cannula coupling segment. The coupling nubbins are aligned with one another along a helical cannula coupling pathway on the outer surface and are adapted to be received within a cooperative helical groove on a transfer vessel. The coupling nubbins have a protrusion projection distance that is greater than the depth of the groove. When a sufficient rotational force is applied to the cannula hub, the coupling nubbins score the inside face of the groove which increases the groove depth and enables the coupling nubbins to advance along the groove while forming a tight compression fit of the coupling nubbins within the groove.
Safety needle devices
A safety needle device may include: a hub configured to be connected to a vessel; a needle attached to the hub, the needle extending between a distal end, configured for insertion into a patient, and an opposed proximal end, configured for connection to the vessel; a shield slidable relative to the hub and rotationally constrained, wherein the shield is irreversibly slidable from an initial position, before injection, to a locking position, after injection, passing through an intermediate position; a housing attached to the hub and surrounding: a portion of the hub, a portion of the shield when the shield is in the initial position and in the locking position, and almost totally the shield when the shield is in the intermediate position; and an elastic member biased to push the shield toward the distal end and to resist a longitudinal sliding of the shield toward the proximal end.
Safety syringe having a manually activated retractable needle
A retractable needle assembly includes a housing having a sidewall defining a hollow bore, and an elongate plunger, the distal end of the plunger forming a reservoir within the hollow bore for containing a fluid therein. The plunger is adapted for slideable movement within the hollow bore. The assembly includes a hub disposed within the hollow bore and at least partially supporting a cannula therewith, and a needle retraction member engaged with the hub for manually selectable advancement with respect to a portion of the housing. The needle retraction member may be advanced from an initial position in which at least a portion of the needle is disposed outside the housing, to a retracted position in which the needle is fully surrounded by the housing. The elongate plunger may be advanced about the hub for extracting the fluid into the reservoir or expelling the fluid from the reservoir.
Pen needle apparatus
A pen needle (30, 110) is disclosed for coupling to a delivery device (10) and piercing a septum on the delivery device. The pen needle includes a collar (32, 112) having a side wall (36, 116), an open proximal end (38), and a distal end (40, 118) having a coupling member (50). The pen needle also includes a needle hub (34, 114) having a proximal end (50, 124) and a distal end (58, 126), where the proximal end of the needle hub has a coupling member coupled to the distal end of the collar. The needle hub rotates independently of the collar. A needle (52) extends from the distal end of the needle hub, and a projection (76, 126) extends from the proximal end of the needle hub for piercing a septum (106) of a delivery device. The collar (32, 112) rotates independently from the needle hub (34, 114) so that the collar screws onto the threaded end of the delivery device while the needle hub does not rotate and the projection advances to pierce the septum (106) without rotating.
NEEDLE CONNECTORS AND MODULAR NEEDLE CONNECTORS FOR MULTI-DOSE DRUG DELIVERY DEVICES AND METHODS THEREOF
Systems and devices described herein include multi-dose injection systems for delivering drugs, hormones, biologics, and other therapeutic agents. Systems include multiple single-injection needle connectors attachable to a reusable injector. The needle connectors include a needle having a distal end for administering the therapeutic agent to the patient and a proximal end to pierce a septum of the reusable injector. The proximal ends of the needles across the multiple needle connectors can vary such that the piercing location on the septum varies. The systems also include modular needle connectors. The modular needle connectors can include a disk rotatable within a connector body. A position of a needle within the rotatable disk changes each time the modular needle connector is connected to a reusable injector.
Actuator Assembly for Drug Delivery System
A needle actuator assembly for a drug delivery system includes a housing, a needle having retracted and extended positions, a needle actuator body received within the housing and configured to move from a pre-use position where the needle is in the retracted position to a use position where the needle is in the extended position and to a post-use position where the needle is in the retracted position, with the needle actuator having a button contact surface, and an actuator button received by the housing.
Syringe with visually coded needle hub
A medication delivery device included molded cylindrical barrel having visual marks on the surface of the barrel in the axial direction, a plunger seals the distal opening of the cylindrical barrel, a molded needle hub disposed in the proximal opening of the cylindrical barrel for sealing the needle hub to the barrel. A needle is disposed in the needle hub for communicating liquids by operation of the plunger in the axial direction. The circumferential surface on the flange of the needle hub comprises a colored mark that corresponds to a characteristic of the medication delivery device or its contents.
Assembly for sequentially percutaneously applying an electrode and an anesthetic to tissue
An assembly for performing an electrosurgical procedure. A cannula includes a cannula hub defining a middle bore having a smaller diameter than a proximal bore. An electrode includes an electrode head having an outer diameter smaller than the proximal bore and greater than the middle bore. A syringe includes a syringe head having a length sufficient to extend past the proximal bore, and an outer diameter sized to engage the middle bore to form an annular seal at an interface between the syringe and the cannula. A step may define a transition surface between the proximal bore and the middle bore, and at least one notch may be within the step to maintain fluid communication between the middle bore and the proximal bore when the electrode head is engaging the step. The cannula head may include first and second locking features configured to engage the syringe and electrode, respectively.
