Needle assembly attachable to an injection device, the needle assembly having a reservoir assembly with locking mechanism

A reservoir assembly comprising a reservoir housing, a piston, and a locking plug, both movably arranged inside the reservoir housing; wherein the volume between the piston and the locking plug defines a reservoir cavity. The reservoir assembly further comprising a reservoir outlet; and an actuator configured to act on the piston; wherein the locking plug is configured to be movable from a first position to a second position; wherein in the first position the reservoir outlet is not in fluid communication with the reservoir cavity. The reservoir assembly further comprising an interlock configured to prevent movement of at least one of the locking plug and the piston; wherein the interlock having a locked position and an unlocked position.

Syringe assembly

A syringe assembly having a barrel for containing one or more medicaments and a stopper disposed in the barrel defining and separating a first volume and a second volume within the syringe assembly. The stopper includes a permanent seal fluidly sealing the stopper to the barrel about the entire perimeter of the stopper intermediate the first volume and second volume, and a channel bypassing the permanent seal, the channel having a first opening in fluid communication with the second volume and a second opening selectively sealed from the first volume by a resilient seal. The resilient seal is moveable between a sealing configuration and an open configuration to selectively seal the channel from the first volume and is moveable from the sealing configuration to the open configuration upon fluid pressure in the first volume or second volume exceeding a first pressure threshold.

Needle assembly for the delivery of at least two medicaments

Various embodiments of needle assemblies for use with a drug delivery device to deliver two or more medicaments are provided. Additionally, various embodiments of methods for delivering two or medicaments are provided. In one embodiment, a needle assembly comprises an injection needle, a proximal housing member, a distal housing member, and a medicament transfer element. The proximal housing member contains a first medicament and is configured to attach to a drug delivery device containing a second medicament. The distal housing member is movably engaged with the proximal housing member such that relative axial movement between the proximal and distal housing members causes the first medicament to be delivered. Upon activation of the drug delivery device (e.g., activation of a dose button of the drug delivery device) the second medicament is transferred, via the medicament transfer feature, from the drug delivery device to the injection needle of the needle assembly such that the second medicament can be delivered.

System and method for safety syringe

One embodiment is directed to a system for injecting, comprising a syringe body defining an interior medicine chamber; a stopper member configured to be inserted into the interior medicine chamber to contain medicine within the medicine chamber; a plunger member configured to be manually manipulated to insert the stopper member relative to the syringe body; and a needle having proximal and distal ends, the proximal end comprising an anchoring geometry configured to be at least partially inserted into the stopper member such that upon retraction of the stopper member, the needle is pulled proximally along with the stopper to be at least partially contained within the interior medicine chamber.

The present invention relates in part to multi-chambered vessels comprising a first chamber a second chamber and a seal comprising a first member and a second member, wherein the first member and the second member are engageable with one another to form a barrier separating the first chamber and the second chamber. The first member and the second member are disengageable from one another to open a channel between the first chamber and the second chamber. Vessels of the invention allow a user to establish communication between the first chamber and the second chamber at a desired time, for example in order to contact components contained within the chambers or in order to sequentially release components or doses of components from the vessel. Also provided is a kit comprising a seal of the invention. The kit advantageously allows a single-chambered vessel (for example a bottle or a syringe) to be converted into a multi-chambered vessel capable of controlling communication between the chambers at the final stage of the filling process.
