ENGINE STARTING CONTROL SYSTEM FOR HYBRID VEHICLE

An engine starting control system for hybrid vehicles is provided to prevent a temporal drop in drive force when starting an engine. The control system maintains an operating mode of a switching mechanism when starting the engine by the first motor, in a case that the vehicle is propelled in the forward direction by the first motor and that the switching mechanism is in a second mode, or in a case that the vehicle is propelled in the reverse direction by the first motor and that the switching mechanism is in the first mode. Thereafter, the control system increases a rotational speed of the engine to a self-sustaining speed, switches the operating mode of the switching mechanism, and increases torque of the engine.

Method and device for managing the energy of a hybrid vehicle

A method manages energy of a hybrid vehicle. The vehicle includes a heat engine, one or more electric traction motors, a high-voltage traction battery, a low-voltage on-board battery for accessories of the vehicle, a current inverter to transform direct currents into alternating currents for the electric motor, and a reversible current transformer to convert high-voltage current into low-voltage current of the on-board battery and to use a stock of energy available in the low-voltage battery to not draw energy from the high-voltage battery when it has a relatively low level of charge. The method includes determining an operating point of the vehicle involving a minimum fuel consumption in the heat engine by imposing on the electric motor a torque that minimizes a criterion of total fuel consumption by the consumption of the heat engine, power consumed in the traction battery, and power consumed in the on-board battery.

The present invention relates to a hybrid transmission using an engine and two electric motors/generators together, wherein a planetary gear device comprising double planet gears, two sun gears and a ring gear, as a power splitter is used, and in addition, to a hybrid transmission in which one or more clutches and/or one or more brakes are combined to select a mechanical shift mode other than a hybrid mode and an electric drive mode.

HYBRID VEHICLE

A use index IDX indicative of a degree of use of external charging is calculated and transmitted to a vehicle external system. The vehicle external system provides a service or imposes a penalty based on the use index IDX. In a case where the degree of use of external charging is determined to be low based on the use index IDX, if the vehicle external system provides a non-preferential service or imposes a heavy penalty as compared with a case where the degree of use of external charging is determined to be high, a driver or an owner of a vehicle takes an action by which the use index is determined to indicate, a high degree of use of external charging. As a result, the use of external charging can be promoted.

TRAVEL DRIVING APPARATUS OF VEHICLE

In a hybrid vehicle including a front motor for driving front wheels, and a step-up converter for stepping up voltage from a battery to supply power to the front motor, in which power regenerated by rotational force of the front wheel during vehicle deceleration is stepped down by a step-up converter and can be supplied to a battery, the hybrid vehicle includes a hybrid control unit which computes maximum input power of the step-up converter and regenerated power of the front motor during vehicle deceleration, and sets a difference obtained by subtracting regenerated power of the front motor from the maximum input power of the step-up converter to the maximum generated power of the generator.

A vehicle includes a rotary electric machine, an internal combustion engine, a temperature sensor, and a limiter. The rotary electric machine generates power to move the vehicle. The internal combustion engine is started by the rotary electric machine to generate power to move the vehicle. The temperature sensor detects temperature of the rotary electric machine or of a drive circuit for the rotary electric machine. The limiter restricts the power generated by the rotary electric machine if the temperature is higher than a first threshold temperature.
