INHALER SYSTEM
Provided is a system (10) for determining a probability of an asthma exacerbation in a subject. The system comprises an inhaler (100) for delivering a rescue medicament to the subject. The inhaler has a use-detection system (12B) configured to determine a rescue inhalation performed by the subject using the first inhaler. A sensor system (12A) is configured to measure a parameter relating to airflow during the rescue inhalation. The system further comprises a processor (14) configured to determine a number of the rescue inhalations during a first time period, and receive the parameter measured for at least some of the rescue inhalations. The processor determines, using a weighted model, the probability of the asthma exacerbation based on the number of rescue inhalations and the parameters.
The model is weighted such that the number of rescue inhalations is more significant in the probability determination than the parameters.
ACTIVATION MECHANISM FOR AN AEROSOL DISPENSER
An activation mechanism for an aerosol dispenser is presented having a first housing structure, an actuation member movably arranged in the first housing structure, wherein the first housing structure is provided with an actuation member opening in level with the axial position of the actuation member, and an activation member slidably attached to the first housing structure, the activation member slides between a non-triggering position and a triggering position relative to the first housing structure, wherein the activation member has a radially flexible tab portion that is offset from the actuation member opening when the activation member is in the non-triggering position, restricting radial flexing of the tab portion, and wherein the tab portion aligns with the actuation member opening when the activation member is in the triggering position, thereby enabling the tab portion to flex radially inwards to cause movement of the actuation member.
Dry powder inhalers with dual piercing members and methods of operating same
A dry powder inhaler includes a dose container assembly having a dose container disk with opposing upper and lower surfaces, a first row of circumferentially spaced apart dose containers at a first radius and a second row of circumferentially spaced apart dose containers at a second radius. The dose containers have dry powder therein and are sealed via a first flexible sealant over apertures in the upper surface and a second flexible sealant over apertures in the lower surface. A piercing mechanism includes two reciprocating piercers that serially alternate between the two rows of dose containers in the dose container disk. A rotatable ramp disk includes first and second sets of circumferentially spaced-apart ramp elements in staggered, concentric relationship that are configured to move the first and second piercing members between retracted and extended positions.
Dry powder inhaler
The present invention relates to an inhaler which is appropriate for delivery of medicament in dry powder form used in respiratory diseases, particularly in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). In addition, the present invention relates to an inhaler which includes a blister package appropriate for carrying the medicament in dry powder form and used to realize an effective inhalation.
Aerosol-generating devices and aerosol-generating systems
An aerosol-generating system includes an aerosol-generating device and at least two consumables. Each consumable includes an aerosol-forming substrate. The aerosol-generating device further includes a device housing comprising at least two receiving chambers, wherein each consumable is accommodated in a separate receiving chamber of the at least two receiving chambers. The aerosol-generating device further includes at least two mouthpieces, wherein each mouthpiece of the at least two mouthpieces is aligned with a separate consumable of the at least two consumables and wherein the aerosol-generating device is configured to isolate airflows through separate, respective mouthpieces of the at least two mouthpieces.
Device for dispensing a fluid product
A fluid dispenser device comprising: a dose counter for indicating the number of doses that have been dispensed or that remain to be dispensed, said counter comprising: at least one rotary counter element provided with indicator means, such as digits or numbers, and provided with a first set of teeth and with a second set of teeth; a movable actuator element adapted to co-operate with said first set of teeth of said counter element so as to turn it; and anti-return means adapted to co-operate with said second set of teeth so as to prevent said counter element from turning in the direction opposite to the direction that is imposed by said actuator element; said anti-return means comprising a tip that is substantially V-shaped, and that, after each actuation of the counter, co-operates with a respective tooth of said second set of teeth in a blocking position, said tip comprising a first branch that is adapted to co-operate in the blocking position with a blocking shoulder of said tooth, and a second branch that is plane and adapted to co-operate with a plane surface of said teeth, said plane second branch and said plane surface being coplanar when said tip is in the blocking position, said tip being urged resiliently towards said blocking position so as to ensure accurate positioning of said counter element after each actuation of the counter.
DRY POWDER INHALER
A dry powder inhaler with a blister folding device can include a housing to receive a single blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a mouthpiece through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user and a blister opening device. The blister opening device can include a blister support element for supporting a blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a blister folding element co-operable with the blister support element. The blister folding element and the blister support element can be movable relative to each other between a first position, for insertion of the blister into or onto the blister support element, and a second, burst, position in which the blister folding element has co-operated with the blister support element.
ARRANGEMENT FOR AEROSOL DISPENSER, AEROSOL DISPENSER AND METHOD
An arrangement for activating an aerosol dispenser having a conveying tube for conveying a liquid; a movable holding member holding the conveying tube; a rotatable base; and a container chamber between the holding member and the base, wherein the arrangement is configured to transmit a loading rotation of the base to a substantially axial loading movement of the holding member towards the base, and wherein the holding member has a locking structure exposed to the container chamber. An aerosol dispenser having the arrangement and a method for activating an aerosol dispenser are also provided.
TENSIONING ARRANGEMENT FOR AEROSOL DISPENSER AND AEROSOL DISPENSER
A tensioning arrangement for an aerosol dispenser is presented where the tensioning arrangement has a conveying tube; an elastic member arranged to store mechanical energy from a substantially axial tensioning movement of the conveying tube; a rotatable member; a transmission mechanism configured to transmit a tensioning rotation of the rotatable member to the tensioning movement of the conveying tube, wherein the transmission mechanism has a cam profile and a cam follower arranged to follow the cam profile, wherein the cam profile has at least one priming structure; and wherein the tensioning arrangement is configured such that the conveying tube makes a temporary priming movement towards an initial position when the cam follower passes each priming structure during the tensioning movement of the conveying tube by means of the tensioning rotation of the rotatable member. An aerosol dispenser is also provided.
COMPLIANCE-ASSISTING MODULE FOR AN INHALER
An inhaler includes a mouth-piece cover, a pressure sensor, a first indicator and a second indicator.
