METHOD FOR QUALITATIVE AND/OR QUANTITATIVE DETECTION OF SUBSTANCES CONTAINED IN A HEMP PLANT AND KIT FOR USE THEREIN
The present invention relates to a kit comprising: a) an ampoule; b) a material comprising a hemp plant or parts thereof; and c) a color indicator capable of reacting by contacting the hemp plant and/or at least a part thereof to change the color of the color indicator, wherein the material and the color indicator are disposed in the ampoule; and a method for qualitatively and/or quantitatively detecting one or more substance(s) contained in the hemp plant using the kit.
METHODS FOR TREATING RHINITIS AND CONJUNCTIVITIS
Apparatus, methods, and kits for treating symptoms associated with common ailments, such as headaches, rhinitis, asthma, epilepsy, nervous disorders and the like, are provided. The apparatus comprises dispensers for carbon dioxide other therapeutic gases. The methods comprise delivering small volumes of these gases to patients in a manner where the gas infuses into a body region in order to bathe the mucous membranes therein. It has been found that even very short exposure of patients to small volumes and high concentrations of such gases can provide significant relief from symptoms.
Dry powder inhalers with dual piercing members and methods of operating same
A dry powder inhaler includes a dose container assembly having a dose container disk with opposing upper and lower surfaces, a first row of circumferentially spaced apart dose containers at a first radius and a second row of circumferentially spaced apart dose containers at a second radius. The dose containers have dry powder therein and are sealed via a first flexible sealant over apertures in the upper surface and a second flexible sealant over apertures in the lower surface. A piercing mechanism includes two reciprocating piercers that serially alternate between the two rows of dose containers in the dose container disk. A rotatable ramp disk includes first and second sets of circumferentially spaced-apart ramp elements in staggered, concentric relationship that are configured to move the first and second piercing members between retracted and extended positions.
DRY POWDER INHALER
A dry powder inhaler with a blister folding device can include a housing to receive a single blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a mouthpiece through which a dose of medicament is inhaled by a user and a blister opening device. The blister opening device can include a blister support element for supporting a blister containing a dose of medicament for inhalation by a user, and a blister folding element co-operable with the blister support element. The blister folding element and the blister support element can be movable relative to each other between a first position, for insertion of the blister into or onto the blister support element, and a second, burst, position in which the blister folding element has co-operated with the blister support element.
ARRANGEMENT FOR AEROSOL DISPENSER, AEROSOL DISPENSER AND METHOD
An arrangement for activating an aerosol dispenser having a conveying tube for conveying a liquid; a movable holding member holding the conveying tube; a rotatable base; and a container chamber between the holding member and the base, wherein the arrangement is configured to transmit a loading rotation of the base to a substantially axial loading movement of the holding member towards the base, and wherein the holding member has a locking structure exposed to the container chamber. An aerosol dispenser having the arrangement and a method for activating an aerosol dispenser are also provided.
Aerosolization apparatus for inhalation profile-independent drug delivery
A powder aerosolization apparatus comprises a housing comprising an outlet adapted to be inserted into a user's mouth and one or more bypass air openings. A receptacle support within the housing supports a receptacle containing a powder pharmaceutical formulation. A puncturing mechanism within the housing creates in the receptacle one or more inlet openings and one or more powder outflow openings, wherein the powder outflow openings have a total area of from 0.2 mm.sup.2 to 4.0 mm.sup.2. Upon a user's inhalation through the outlet, air flows through the one or more bypass air openings and through the receptacle to aerosolize the powder pharmaceutical formulation in the receptacle. In one version, the relative flow parameters between the flow through the one or more bypass openings and the one or more powder outflow openings are selected so that flow of aerosolized pharmaceutical formulation does not occur until a predetermined inhalation flow rate is achieved.
Dry powder inhaler and flexible bag spacer device for a dry powder inhaler
Provided is a Dry Powder Inhaler (DPI) arrangement comprising a DPI arranged in fluid communication with a spacer device (110) comprising a bag (112) and a body (118) including inlet (114) and opposed outlet (116), the inlet (114) and opposed outlet (116) being provided on, and integral with, the body (118). The body (118) and bag (112) combine to form chamber (120) for operatively receiving vaporised dry powder medication. The inlet (114) and outlet (116) each are in the form of a port that is in fluid flow communication with the chamber (120). The inlet (114) and outlet (116) define, and are separated by, a broad V-formation formed as part of the body (118). The body (118) further includes an elliptical lower perimeter (118.1) defining flange (118.2), for demountably receiving bag (112).
AUTOMATIC DISPENSER FOR RESPIRATORY DELIVERY DEVICE AND METHOD
The present invention provides a particulate delivery device with an automatic activation mechanism that pierces or cuts a composition capsule when a cap is removed. The cap cannot be replaced once the device is activated for use. The device allows for gas flow through the device from a gas inlet to a gas outlet through a composition receptacle and dispersion chamber to deliver particulate to the airway of a subject.
DEVICE WITH COMPOSITIONS FOR DELIVERY TO THE LUNGS, THE ORAL MUCOSA AND THE BRAIN
The present invention provides a passive inhaler for use in treating a number of diseases. The inventor has shown that the compositions comprised in the inhaler can be delivered to the lungs and to the brain in pharmacological relevant dosages, to treat a number of diseases in the lungs and the brain. Further, the inhaler is also able to deliver substances to the brain which may enhance transport across the blood brain barrier.
DRY POWDER INHALER FOR PULMONARY OR NASAL DELIVERY
A dry powder inhaler (1) has a chamber (12) for housing a capsule and an inhalation channel (22), the chamber (12) is shaped in order to determine an agitated motion of the capsule in the chamber (12) during an inhalation of a user, the inhaler (1) comprises a capsule-piercing mechanism (30) arranged to pierce a capsule in the chamber (12) and a monitoring system (40) comprising an accelerometer (42) arranged on a printed circuit board (48) in order to measure mechanical oscillations determined at least by the agitated motion and by a flow of air through the chamber (12) and/or inhalation channel (22); a detection unit (44) arranged to detect an activation of the capsule-piercing mechanism (30); and an electronic processing unit (46) configured to receive signals from the detection unit (44) and from the accelerometer (42).
