HAND OPERATED DEVICES FOR ADMINISTRATION OF A MEDICAMENT
A handheld assembly for dispensing a medicament to a subject is provided. The assembly includes a unit dose device, a shell, a plunger, a dispense button, a drive member and an escapement that is movable and capable of cycling the dispense assembly thru multiple states of a dispense cycle.
Inhaler
An inhaler for inhalation of an inhalable dry powder is provided. The inhaler has (a) an outer shell having a first shell part and a second shell part; (b) a capsule holder having a chamber for holding a capsule, a capsule breaker for breaking open a capsule held within the chamber and a trigger for causing the capsule breaker to break open a capsule; (c) a support for supporting the capsule holder; and (d) an outlet for passage of dry powder from the capsule into a user. The capsule holder is positioned in the first shell part which has an aperture through which the trigger protrudes. The aperture has a cut-out in the rim of the first shell part and through which the trigger may pass when the capsule holder is removed from the first shell part. The support has one or more first mating parts for mating with one or more second mating parts on the first shell part, the first and second mating parts preventing outward movement of the walls of the first shell part when the first and second mating parts are mutually engaged.
PIERCING DEVICE FOR INHALER ARTICLE
A piercing device (150) contains a recessed piercing element (160) and is configured to receive a distal end (118) of an inhaler article (110). The piercing element pierces or punctures a single hole into a capsule contained within the inhaler article when the inhaler article is seated into an inhaler article cavity (157) of the piercing device. The piercing device includes a marking element (170) extending into the inhaler article cavity from the housing inner surface (152). The marking element is configured to mark an outer surface of an inhaler device when the inhaler device is received within the inhaler article cavity. The marking element extends orthogonally to the piercing element longitudinal axis.
AEROSOL DELIVERY DEVICE WITH CONDUCTIVE INSERTS
The present disclosure provides aerosol delivery devices. In an example implementation, an aerosol delivery device comprises an aerosol source member that defines an outer surface and an interior area and includes a substrate material having an aerosol precursor composition associated therewith, a control body having a housing that is configured to receive the aerosol source member, an electrical energy source coupled with the housing, and a heating assembly operatively connected to the electrical energy source. The heating assembly includes a plurality of spikes that may be configured to articulate between a retracted position, in which the plurality of spikes is not in contact with the aerosol source member, and a heating position, in which the plurality of spikes pierces through the outer surface of the substrate material and into a portion of the interior area thereof.
DEVICE FOR INHALING POWDER-TYPE SUBSTANCES, SUBSTANCE CONTAINER FOR A DEVICE OF THIS TYPE AND METHOD FOR FILLING A DEVICE OF THIS TYPE
A device for inhaling powder-type substances includes a plurality of substance containers that can be moved successively into an emptying position, wherein the substance containers—which are not connected to one another—are accommodated in direct contact with one another in a guide unit attached to the device and can be moved by contact pressure propagating among the substance containers. The guide unit has a drive wheel with accommodating forms separated by drive teeth. The substance container in the emptying position is located in an accommodating form of the drive wheel. A substance container for a device for inhaling powder-type substances has two sub-regions, each separately having an amount of the substance, and both sub-regions have an openable, pierceable cover. A method for filling a device for inhaling powder-type substances uses a plurality of substance containers that can be moved successively into an emptying position.
Vaporizing devices and methods for delivering a compound using the same
A method of treating disorders in a human or animal subject may include heating a material containing a compound to a first temperature to form a heated volume of the material. The method may additionally include heating the heated volume to a higher second temperature to form a dose of vapor including the compound. The method may also include administering the dose of vapor to the subject to treat disorders such as pain. The method may further include pre-heating the material to a preliminary temperature prior to the heating to the first temperature. The heating and pre-heating may be performed with a capsule including two covering layers, each including an electrically conductive material, configured to hold the material therebetween and to generate heat by resistive heating.
Automatic dispenser for respiratory delivery device
The present invention provides a particulate delivery device with an automatic activation mechanism that pierces or cuts a composition capsule when a cap is removed. The cap cannot be replaced once the device is activated for use. The device allows for gas flow through the device from a gas inlet to a gas outlet through a composition receptacle and dispersion chamber to deliver particulate to the airway of a subject.
ENDOSCOPIC MEDICAL DEVICE FOR DISPENSING MATERIALS AND METHOD OF USE
A medical device including an application device with a first fluid path and a container movably attached to the application device. The container and the application device have a second fluid path therethrough, the container includes an inner chamber that is intermediate proximal and distal portions of the second fluid path, the inner chamber is fluidly isolated from the proximal portion of the second fluid path at a first position of the container, and the inner chamber is fluidly coupled to the proximal and distal portions of the second fluid path at a second position of the container. The first fluid path bypasses the container and the passage of fluid through the first fluid path is separately controllable from the passage of fluid through the second fluid path.
NASAL DELIVERY DEVICE
The present disclosure provides a nasal delivery device with a device body that includes a trigger end and an outlet end. The nasal delivery device also includes a trigger assembly coupled to the trigger end of the device body, a drug container supported by the device body, and a spring-loaded activator assembly supported by the device body and disposed between the trigger assembly and the drug container.
Device for inhaling powdery substances
A device for inhaling powdery substances contained in capsules has a housing, a capsule receiver, a closing cover, a mouth piece, and a closure cap. The closure cap is designed to cover simultaneously the mouthpiece, closing cover and capsule receiver, wherein the closure cap, mouthpiece and closing cover are hinged in a pivoting manner. Two pivot axes, which are different but run in the same direction, are formed, which, in respect of a side view in which geometric axes of the pivot axes are represented in the form of points, are arranged next to each other and on a same side of the capsule receiver. In a usage state of the device, the first pivot axis is arranged closer to the capsule receiver. The closing cover and the mouthpiece can be pivoted about the first pivot axis and only the closure cap can be pivoted about the second pivot axis.
