Dosage forms, packaging, and vaporization device for vaporizable formulations
A single dose vaporizable formulation including room temperature solid extracts and other botanical extracts and methods of processing and packaging single dose portions of vaporizable formulations. Also, methods of dispensing single dose portions, including segmented dose formulations and applicator-tab devices for vaporizers. A vaporizer having a heating chamber element with an indentation or cavity sized to receive a similarly-shaped, single dose vaporizable formulation.
Powder filling processes
A method for filling a plurality of microdepressions in a major surface of a web with finely divided powder in which the web is fed continuously to and through a powder filling stage including a driven roller. A method of manufacturing an elongate carrier with microdepressions containing finely divided powder comprising steps filling a plurality of microdepressions in a major surface of a web as described, removing from upper surface of the web excess powder not filled within the microdepressions and remaining on areas of the surface between the depressions, and optionally slitting and/or cutting the web in width and/or length.
Flow regulating inhaler device
An inhaler device for pulmonary delivery of at least one substance from a drug dose cartridge to an inhaling user, including: a first conduit for conducting a carrier airflow to a proximal opening of a mouthpiece for use by the user; a holder configured to position the dose cartridge within the carrier airflow; and a second conduit for conducting a shunting airflow to the mouthpiece without passing through the dose cartridge position. A controller connected to a valve controls a rate of carrier airflow, for example by controlling the shunting airflow, based on a sensor indication of airflow rate and a target airflow profile.
Inhalation device and method
A method and device for delivering a pharmaceutical to the airway of a human or animal patient, in one aspect, includes a dose drum formed into a cylinder and including a plurality of dose compartments for containing individual doses. In another aspect, the device may include a reservoir containing a pharmaceutical material in bulk form and a metering recess for metering the pharmaceutical material to form a pharmaceutical dose. Another aspect provides an inhaler with a combined reservoir and dosing chamber configured to contain multiple doses of a pharmaceutical material.
Device for the portioned output of medication
A device outputs portioned medications (M) from individual chambers of a strip arranged one behind the other. The strip includes a base strip and a closure strip and the raised chambers of the strip can be opened by pressing a handle by sharp-edged deflection of the closure strip. In order to simplify the design and for safe operation, a chamber elevation directed toward the mouthpiece opening blocks the actuation of the handle using a blocking element, in which position a chamber arranged in front that has already been freed from the closure strip lies above a fall-through opening, which opening is closed using a flap that can be moved into the opening position by the suction air flow.
Dose delivery device for inhalation with first and second portions to open a dose chamber
Methods and devices for delivering a dose, such as a medicament, for inhalation. A dose may be stored by a delivery device and dispersed and delivered in a metered fashion to a subject, such as by the subject inhaling via a mouthpiece of the delivery device. One or more chambers of the device may have a toroidal shape and may be arranged to be selectively opened for fluid communication with a flow path of the delivery device, such as by sliding the chamber relative to a portion of the flow path. The flow path may include a restriction that permits air to bypass the chamber, and/or the chamber may be arranged so that fluid entering the chamber interacts with fluid exiting the chamber so as to enhance dispersion of the dose.
RESEALABLE AEROSOL-GENERATING ARTICLE
An aerosol-forming article is provided, including an airflow inlet and an airflow outlet; a medicament source and a volatile delivery enhancing compound source disposed between the airflow inlet and the airflow outlet, and a moveable portion moveable between an open position in which the medicament source and the volatile delivery enhancing compound source are in fluid communication with both the airflow inlet and the airflow outlet, and a closed position in which each of the medicament source and the volatile delivery enhancing compound source is in communication with only one or none of the airflow inlet and the airflow outlet.
Methods, devices and systems for pulmonary delivery of active agents
Provided herein is a method of pulmonary delivering to a subject at least one pharmacologically active agent being in a plant material, which is effected by pulmonary delivering the agent to the subject using a metered dose inhaler device that is configured to vaporize at least one pre-determined vaporized amount of the agent upon controllably heating the plant material, wherein the pre-determined vaporized amount is selected so as to achieve at least one pre-determined pharmacokinetic effect and/or at least one pre-determined pharmacodynamic effect induced by the agent in the subject.
Methods, devices and systems for pulmonary delivery of active agents
Provided herein is a system that includes a metered dose inhaler device for pulmonary delivering to a subject at least one pre-determined vaporized amount of at least one pharmacologically active agent being in a plant material, wherein vaporization is effected by controllably heating the plant material so as to vaporize a pre-determined vaporized amount of the agent; the system further includes a controller in communication with the inhaler device, configured to control the pre-determined vaporized amount based on data indicative of at least one pharmacodynamic effect induced by the agent in the subject.
Drug dose cartridge for an inhaler device
Devices and methods are described for preparing, managing, and/or administering metered doses of substances for vaporized administration. In some embodiments, dose cartridges including at least one botanical substance include a heating element integrated into the cartridge in close contact with the botanical substance. In some embodiments, cartridge-mounted doses are stored in a magazine, optionally in carousel form, before use. Transport of a cartridge from a magazine to an electrically operated vaporizing chamber which activates the heating element is provided by a mechanical pickup means.
