DRUG DOSE CARTRIDGE FOR AN INHALER DEVICE

Devices and methods are described for preparing, managing, and/or administering metered doses of substances for vaporized administration. In some embodiments, dose cartridges comprising at least one botanical substance include a heating element integrated into the cartridge in close contact with the botanical substance. In some embodiments, cartridge-mounted doses are stored in a magazine, optionally in carousel form, before use. Transport of a cartridge from a magazine to an electrically operated vaporizing chamber which activates the heating element is provided by a mechanical pickup means.

Method and apparatus for a controlled delivery of particles

In a method and in an apparatus for the controlled delivery of particles, said particles are supplied to a measurement station in which the quantity of particles is detected. The particles are subsequently transferred by the measurement station to a dispensing device and are dispensed.

DRY POWDER INHALER

The present invention provides an inhaler comprising a housing which contains a blister strip having a plurality of blisters which contain powdered medicament for inhalation; a mouthpiece through which the medicament is inhaled by a user; an indexing wheel for indexing the blister strip; an opening mechanism for opening the blisters; an actuator which is movable between a first position and a second position in order to operate the indexing wheel and the opening mechanism; and a coupling mechanism for coupling the actuator to the indexing wheel so that the indexing wheel rotates together with the actuator during part of the motion of the actuator; characterized in that the coupling mechanism comprises a shuttle that rotates on the same axis as, and translates axially relative to, the indexing wheel.

INHALATION MONITORING SYSTEM AND METHOD

An inhalation monitoring system includes an inhaler having a medicament delivery apparatus configured to deliver medicament to a user during an inhalation of the user; inhalation monitoring apparatus, configured to, during the inhalation, gather data for determining a measure of the user's lung function and/or lung health; and a processor configured to receive the data from the inhalation monitoring apparatus and, using the data, determine a measure of the user's lung function and/or lung health.

A method of purifying herbal extract(s) from an herbaceous plant composition includes heating the herbal extracts-containing composition to volatilize at least one of herbal extract(s) into a vapor and condensing the vapor on a substrate or wet extracting the herbal extract(s) by treatment of the herbaceous plant composition or a derivative thereof with a solvent for the herbal extract(s), separating the solution of herbal extract(s), forming a concentrate and casting the concentrate on the substrate to form a coating of the herbal extract(s) on the substrate. A corresponding delivery cartridge and delivery system can include a controllable heating element and the substrate coated with at least one of herbal extract(s). These are configured to allow passage of air over the substrate to volatilize or entrain the herbal extract(s) as a vapor, gas or aerosol for administration to a user.

AN INHALER DEVICE

The present invention relates to inhaler devices (701), and in particular to devices provided with medicament carriers containing individual pockets or blisters of powdered medicament covered by a lidding sheet such as a lidding foil. A common actuator (710) is provided for controlling movement of an indexing system (712,714) for advancing/indexing a dose and an opening system (790,791) for opening a dose such that progression of the opening system (790,791) is disproportional to progression of the indexing system (712,714) during movement of the common actuator (710).

Blister Pack and Inhaler Comprising the Same

Provided is a blister pack for a dry powder inhaler, which dry powder inhaler is configured to deliver a first powder medicament and a second powder medicament different from the first powder medicament. The first and second powder medicaments are contained within blister pockets defined in a strip. A series of blister pockets is defined in the strip, which series extends linearly along the length of the strip. The first and second powder medicaments are contained in blister pockets, e.g. respective blister pockets, of the series. Alternatively or additionally, each of the blister pockets is elongated such as to have a largest dimension parallel with the length of the strip. These measures, either individually or in combination, enable minimizing of the width of the strip in spite of the strip accommodating both the first and second powder medicaments. This, in turn, may enable the depth/thickness of the dry powder inhaler to be minimized, and/or additional space to be provided inside the dry powder inhaler for accommodating, for example, use detection and wireless connectivity electronics for sending use detection data to an external device, such as a smartphone.

INHALER

An inhaler is provided, comprising a housing which contains a blister strip having a plurality of blisters which contain powdered medicament for inhalation; a mouthpiece mounted on the housing through which the medicament is inhaled by a user; an actuator; a blister piercing member; an indexing wheel for sequentially moving each blister into alignment with the blister piercing member when the user operates the actuator; an actuator gear, mounted for rotation about a first axis, which is driven by the actuator and which comprises an actuator gear element; and a drive gear for driving the indexing wheel, mounted for rotation about a second axis, which engages with the actuator gear element. The inhaler is characterized in that the gear ratio between the actuator gear element and the drive gear varies as they rotate during operation of the actuator.

AEROSOL PROVISION SYSTEM

An aerosol provision system comprising: a substrate comprising aerosol generating medium, the substrate including a first surface and a second surface facing the first surface; a source of energy for heating arranged to face the second surface of the substrate, wherein the source of energy for heating is configured to cause heating of the aerosol generating medium to form an aerosol; and a movement mechanism arranged to enable movement of the aerosol generating medium relative to the source of energy for heating, wherein the aerosol generating medium is rotationally movable relative to the source of energy for heating such that portions of the aerosol generating medium are presented to the source of energy for heating, and wherein the aerosol generating medium is rotated around an axis at an angle to the first surface.
