Described herein are examples of pharyngeal respirators. Pharyngeal respirators may include a connection end having a first outer width, a flange disposed on the connection end having a second outer width greater than the first outer width, and a socket disposed on the flange. The connection end may be insertably disposed within a receiver of a pharyngeal breathing tube. The flange may not fit within the receiving end of the pharyngeal breathing tube. The socket may receive a medical fitting. The connection end, the flange, and the socket may form a tubular structure having a first end comprising the connection end and a second end comprising the socket.

A laryngeal mask airway (LMA) intubation guide for use in an endotracheal intubation procedure and in ventilation of a subject, the LMA intubation guide including: an elongate body defining a passageway extending between a proximal opening and a distal opening, for receiving a blade portion of an intubation device; a laryngeal mask at the distal opening, for covering the larynx of the subject; and a ventilation airway extending at least partially along the body, including: a ventilation port at a proximal end of the ventilation airway for connection to a ventilator; and a ventilation aperture at a distal end of the ventilation airway for allowing fluid communication between the ventilation airway and the passageway proximate to the laryngeal mask, the LMA intubation guide being configured to allow intubation of the subject using an endotracheal tube through the passageway, while the subject is ventilated using the ventilation airway.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an auxiliary device and medical equipment for inserting a medical device. Embodiments of the disclosure comprise a bite part connected to a proximal end of a guiding tube. The bite part comprises a body, a first retaining part and a second retaining part, wherein the body has with a first toothing part, a first connecting part, a second toothing part and a second connecting part, and an insertion cavity in communication with the guiding tube. The first toothing part and the second toothing part occlude the upper and lower teeth, and the first retaining part and the second retaining part are respectively disposed at the first toothing part and the second toothing part, thereby forming an avoiding space for endotracheal intubation at the side of the first connecting part and/or the second connecting part.

Apparatus for direct oral delivery of fluid medical gas to a patient, comprising: a conduit, a mouthpiece in fluid communication with the conduit, an exhalant chamber at least partially divided from the conduit, an outlet valve in one-way fluid communication between the conduit and the exhalant chamber, the outlet valve adapted for permitting exhalation of exhalant by the patient into the exhalant chamber and adapted for porting of the exhalant outside of an environment in which the apparatus is adapted for use.

A lower jaw and tongue thrusting endotracheal tube and flexible fiberoptic endoscope intubation oral airway device having an elongated body including, a mandible flange with a lingual flat portion transversely disposed on a ventral surface of a tongue plate. The device having an open top toward the palate like a rectangular trough. The trough extends through the device from the proximal end to the front middle part of the tongue plate. The device includes an L-shaped insert that slideably couples between the upper lip flanges and acts also as dorsal surface of the bite block. The distal end of the tongue plate end comprises a curved surface which tapers to a narrow distal edge. A pair of upstanding walls attach to the tongue faceplate ventral surface edges which taper as they extend posteriorly. The walls ensure protection for medical instruments disposed within the flexible fiberoptic endoscope guide.

Systems for use in assisted respiration can permit insertion of one or more elongated medical instruments into the proximal and/or distal airway of a patient during administration of assisted respiration, which may, in some instances, proceed with a patient awake or only minimally sedated. In some systems, a bite block is coupled with a mask and is movable relative to the mask such that the system is capable of accommodating differing patient anatomies.

An instrument for accessing and visualizing hollow organs is provided. The instrument includes a mouthpiece having a perforated mask and a sleeve having a generally cylindrical or ovoid shape extending from the perforated mask substantially perpendicularly thereto and defining a channel. The instrument further includes sucking means having a suction chamber or closed volume that is restrained to the mask on the side where the sleeve is formed. The suction chamber has a plurality of through openings adapted to allow fluid communication with a surrounding environment, an intake opening communicating with the suction chamber formed on the mask, wherein the through openings are formed on the skirt of a dome-shaped member which delimits the suction chamber.

An oropharyngeal glove for use with a rigid bronchoscope is provided for use during a rigid bronchoscopy procedure. When the oropharyngeal glove is in its installed state, it conforms to the patient's mouth and throat. The oropharyngeal glove includes upper and lower teeth guards that protect the patient's upper and lower front teeth, respectively, when the glove is in the installed state. A first opening is formed in the oropharyngeal glove in its proximal end that allows the rigid bronchoscope to enter glove. The oropharyngeal glove has a second opening formed in its distal end through which the rigid bronchoscope passes to enter the patient's trachea. The portions of the glove that conform to the patient's mouth and throat comprise a protective lining that protects the mouth, throat and vocal cords from being damaged by the rigid bronchoscope.

Methods and devices for delivering a dose, such as a medicament, for inhalation. A dose may be stored by a delivery device and dispersed and delivered in a metered fashion to a subject, such as by the subject inhaling via a mouthpiece of the delivery device. One or more chambers of the device may have a toroidal shape and may be arranged to be selectively opened for fluid communication with a flow path of the delivery device, such as by sliding the chamber relative to a portion of the flow path. The flow path may include a restriction that permits air to bypass the chamber, and/or the chamber may be arranged so that fluid entering the chamber interacts with fluid exiting the chamber so as to enhance dispersion of the dose.

In one aspect of the present disclosure, an airway device is disclosed that includes a bite block and a depressor section. The bite block has proximal and distal ends and is configured and dimensioned for positioning between a patient's upper and lower teeth. The depressor section also has proximal and distal ends and extends distally from the bite block. The depressor section includes upper and lower members that are separated by a web as well as a stop. The lower member includes a first portion having a generally linear configuration and a second portion having an arcuate configuration, and the stop depends transversely from the first portion of the lower member.
