Patient interface
The invention provides a patient interface (10) comprising a patient interface element (12, 14, 15) for delivering a breathing gas to a user and a forehead support (30). One of the forehead support and the patient interface element comprises a shaft (60) and the other comprises a hollow tube (62) in which the shaft is received, with the shaft slidable within the tube to permit adjustment of the position of the forehead support relative to the patient interface element. One of the shaft and hollow tube are elastically deformable between a deformed configuration in which the shaft can be slid within the tube and a released configuration in which the sliding of the shaft within the tube is blocked.
Mask assembly with converging neck side walls
A mask assembly includes a mask frame including a lower portion and a neck extending from the lower portion, a cushion provided to the mask frame and adapted to contact a patient's face, a forehead support assembly provided to the neck of the mask frame, the forehead support assembly including a forehead support and a forehead pad provided to the forehead support, and an elbow assembly provided to the mask frame. The neck includes a pair of side walls spaced apart from one another along an entire length of the neck, the side walls providing an open space therebetween along the entire length of the neck that opens towards a front side of the mask assembly. The pair of side walls comprise an upper converging section wherein the pair of side walls converge towards one another in a downward direction.
Portable patient interface system
A portable patient interface system includes a frame, a cushion coupled to a first side of the frame, a collapsible faceplate coupled to a second side of the frame opposite the first side, and a longitudinally collapsible hose structured to be in fluid communication with the collapsible faceplate and the cushion.
Adjustable locking forehead support for a patient interface device
A patient interface device (8) includes a patient sealing assembly (12) including a cushion (14) and a frame member (16), and an adjustable forehead support assembly (26) provided at the distal end (24) of the frame member. The assembly includes an adjustment mechanism (28) coupled to a forehead cushion (30), the adjustment mechanism including a housing (32), a forehead cushion support member (52) having a base portion (58) and an elongated post member (60) extending from the base portion and received within the housing, and a locking member (54, 56) structured to be selectively coupled to the elongated post member. In the locked condition, the locking member engages the elongated post member and prevents the elongated post member from moving relative to the housing, and in the unlocked condition the locking member does not engage the elongated post member such that the elongated post member and the housing are freely linearly movable with respect to one another.
Patient interface with foam seal-forming structure
A cushion assembly for a patient interface includes a foam cushion and an elastomeric support portion configured to support the foam cushion. The foam cushion is more compliant in a nasal bridge region than other regions of the cushion assembly, the nasal bridge region being a region configured to engage the patient's nasal bridge when the cushion assembly is mounted on the patient's face.
CUSTOMIZABLE RESPIRATORY MASK
A customizable mask including a conforming seal is configured to utilize the physical process of granular jamming to enable it to adapt to a wide range of facial geometries. The mask may include a frame having a perimeter and a conduit connection, a conforming seal positioned along the perimeter of the frame; the conforming seal may include a sealing surface and a connecting surface, the connecting surface configured to mate with the perimeter of the frame, and the sealing surface configured to conform to a users' face. The conforming seal may further include an outer casing, granular material contained within the outer casing, and a vacuum connection. The mask may also include a similarly configured conforming frame. Further disclosed are methods of forming such masks.
Foam cushion respiratory apparatus
A mask apparatus for a respiratory treatment can permit delivery of breathable gas to a user. In one example, the mask may employ a frame and cushion to form a seal for both mouth and nose. The frame may be adapted for coupling with a respiratory treatment apparatus so as to permit communication of a pressurized gas from the respiratory treatment apparatus. The cushion, which may be foam, and a frame component may be made in an overmoulding process that moulds the frame onto a pre-formed foam cushion. Such a moulding process may form a mechanical and/or chemical bonding of the foam and mask frame component. The mask frame component may be a shell of plenum chamber, such as for both nose and mouth. Various features of the cushion may further promote sealing and comfort for the under the nose design.
Mask system
A mask system for delivery of respiratory therapy to a patient includes a nares portion and a mouth portion and an inlet conduit connected to at least one of the nares portion and the mouth portion to deliver the pressurized, breathable gas. The mask system is adapted to selectively utilize the nares portion and/or the mouth portion in a first mode utilizing both the nares portion and the mouth portion, and in a second mode utilizing the nares portion and not utilizing the mouth portion.

A vent assembly for use with a mask assembly includes a first vent, a second vent and a selector to switch the flow of exhaled gas from a patient between the first and second vents.
NASAL MASK SYSTEM
A mask system includes a frame (20) adapted to attach headgear, a sealing arrangement (40) releasably connectable to the frame, and an elbow (70) provided to the sealing arrangement and adapted to be connected to an air delivery tube that delivers breathable gas to the patient. The sealing arrangement defines a breathing chamber and is adapted to form a seal with the patient's face. The sealing arrangement includes structure (50) to establish a positive connection with the frame and with the elbow.
