HEADGEAR TUBING FOR A PATIENT INTERFACE

A patient interface for treating sleep disorder breathing includes a headgear tube that provides support for the seal forming structure. The headgear tube includes a patient-contacting portion and a non-patient contacting portion that are joined along seams to form a gas passageway. The headgear tube may comprise a textile material and/or a foam material. Portions of the headgear tube may be imparted with greater rigidity than other portions.

Patient interface

A patient interface for delivery of a supply of pressurised air or breathable gas to an entrance of a patient's airways comprising: a cushion member that includes a retaining structure and a seal-forming structure permanently connected to the retaining structure; a frame member attachable to the retaining structure; and a positioning and stabilising structure attachable to the frame member.

Unobtrusive nasal mask

A patient interface for delivering pressurized breathable gas to a patient includes a flexible sealing portion with an orifice and sides that are adapted to engage with and form a seal with sides of the patient's nose. The orifice is configured so that a supply of breathable gas is deliverable to the patient through the orifice. The patient interface also includes a supporting portion that is in contact with and supports the flexible sealing portion. The patient interface further includes a pair of lateral headgear connector arms arranged at an angle with respect to the orifice in the flexible sealing portion. Each lateral headgear connector arm has a headgear tab. The angle between each lateral headgear connector arm and the orifice is adjustable. In addition, the flexibility of the lateral headgear connector arms allows the headgear tabs to touch an outer surface of the flexible sealing portion.

BREATHING ASSISTANCE APPARATUS

Headgear for use with a respiratory mask is described. The headgear comprises a continuous and substantially curved elongate member extending in use below a user's nose and at least two headgear straps capable of attachment to the ends of the elongate member. A mask attachment on the elongate member is disposed to sit below or on one of said user's nose, mouth, upper lip and an inlet to the mask. The attachment is capable of receiving the mask.

PATIENT INTERFACE

A patient interface can have features improving the comfort of use by reducing the perceived pressure of a nose-contacting cushion of the patient interface against the nose. The patient interface can have rigid headgear connection elements connectable to a frame of the respiratory interface. The rigid headgear connection elements can be shaped to reduce the force of the cushion against the nose. Headgear for a patient interface can also have features improving the stability of headgear of the head. The headgear can have a relatively rigid framework and a relatively pliable overlay covering the framework. The framework can have apertures defining a front portion to be positioned below or near the cheekbones, a rear portion to be positioned over the sides of the head around the ears, and a top portion to extend upward along the head towards the crown.

A patient interface is configured to deliver a pressurized flow of respiratory gas to a patient's airways. The patient interface includes a cradle base configured to cradle the patients nose in use. Two protrusions extend from the cradle base and are configured to be inserted into the patients nares in use. Each of the protrusions have formed therein an opening configured to allow a continuous flow of air therethrough. In addition, a plenum base forms a plenum chamber together with the cradle base. The cradle base is configured so that movement of the cradle base is decoupled from the plenum base.

A patient interface comprising a cushion having a nasal plenum chamber, an oral plenum chamber, and a passage formed between the nasal and oral plenum chambers. The passage is configured to allow airflow to pass between the nasal and oral plenum chambers. The cushion also includes a valve including valve body and an adjustment structure that is positioned between the nasal chamber and the oral chamber and is movable relative to the valve body. The adjustment structure is movable between an open position that is configured to allow airflow between the nasal plenum chamber and the oral plenum chamber, and a closed position configured to limit airflow between the nasal plenum chamber and the oral plenum chamber. The adjustment structure is configured to allow airflow through a nasal vent in the closed position and is configured to limit airflow through the nasal vent in the open position.

Mask

A mask is disclosed that has a gas outlet which is quiet and provides for a diffused outlet flow of gases. The outlet is preferably a slot formed between a hollow body and cover over said hollow body. The mask also preferably extends and seals under a user's chin in use.

Cushion for patient interface

A cushion for a patient interface that delivers breathable gas to a patient includes a base wall structured to be connected to a frame, an underlying support cushion extending away from the base wall towards the patient's face in use, and a membrane provided to substantially cover at least a portion of the underlying cushion. The membrane is adapted to form a continuous seal on the patient's face. The underlying cushion has a spring-like connection with the base wall. The underlying cushion and/or base wall define a spring constant that varies along a length of the seal.

A breathing assistance apparatus is disclosed, for use with delivery of respiratory gases to a patient. The breathing assistance apparatus includes a patient interface, having a body section adapted to cover the nose, or nose and mouth of a patient and a sealing interface. The sealing interface includes at least an outer sealing member. The outer sealing member is adapted to attach to the body section in a sealing manner and has a substantially thin section in at least its nasal bridge region. The thin section is substantially thinner than the rest of the outer sealing member. The patient interface comprises a mask body and a seal assembly. The seal assembly includes a flexible seal, and a rigid seal clip, the seal assembly being removably attached to the mask body via the rigid seal clip. The mask body and rigid seal clip are profiled to match the contours of a user's face so that the seal has a substantially constant wall depth.
