20230166078 · 2023-06-01 ·

An assembly including a catheter and an extension leg securement apparatus. The catheter includes a hub distally coupled to a catheter tube having two or more lumens. The hub is proximally coupled to two or more extension legs with each extension leg in fluid communication with one lumen. The extension leg securement apparatus includes an extension leg organizer configured to be detachably coupled to the two or more extension legs. The extension leg organizer can include a wire aperture and two or more channels arranged in a channel configuration, with each channel configured to receive one extension leg.

Aspiration system with accelerated response
11259821 · 2022-03-01 · ·

An aspiration system exhibits an accelerated drop in negative pressure at the distal end of an aspiration catheter from the time of opening a valve. The system includes an aspiration pump in communication with a first chamber, and an aspiration catheter configured for placement into fluid communication with the first chamber by way of an elongate aspiration tube. A second chamber is provided between the aspiration tube and the catheter, and a valve is provided between the second chamber and the aspiration catheter. Upon opening of the valve with negative pressure at equilibrium in the first and second chambers, resistance to fluid flow between the second chamber and the distal end of the catheter is less than the resistance to fluid flow between the second chamber and the first chamber, causing a rapid aspiration into the second chamber.

Catheter assembly with replaceable components

A catheter assembly includes a catheter, a collar, and an extension tube assembly. The catheter includes a leading end portion and a trailing end portion. The collar is supported on the trailing end portion of the catheter. The extension tube assembly includes a first section and a second section, each section independent of the other section and including a substantially rigid body portion and a compressible extension tube portion. The body portion of each of the first and second sections is independently engageable with the trailing end portion of the catheter. The collar is configured to engage the first and second sections of the extension tube assembly to secure the extension tube assembly to the trailing end portion of the catheter.

Multi-lumen manifold and method of operating a multi-lumen manifold
11666744 · 2023-06-06 · ·

Manifolds and methods of operating manifolds are provided. An example manifold for controlling multi-lumen devices is provided that includes a substance supply mechanism. The substance supply mechanism independently provides a substance to, or remove a substance from, each of a plurality of lumens. The example manifold also includes a lumen selection mechanism. The lumen selection mechanism selectively opens and closes a connection between the substance supply mechanism and at least one of the plurality of lumens. A corresponding method of operation is also provided. An example embodiment also includes a manifold for use with a vessel seclusion device.

Endoscope

An endoscope includes an insertion portion; an operation portion; a balloon water injection channel; a first opening portion; a balloon pipe sleeve provided with a first end portion and a second end portion; a branch channel connection unit; a rotation restriction portion; and a connecting tube on which the branch channel connection unit is assembled.

Multi-Lumen Intravascular Catheters with inner Converging Lumens for Multiple Guidewire Control
20220040447 · 2022-02-10 · ·

Catheter systems with multiple inner lumens that converge at the catheter distal tip are preloaded with at least two guidewires. The catheters offers sequential probing with two or more guidewires, therefore improving on procedural speed and accuracy. The catheters comprise proximal and distal regions enabling angled lumens to merge into a common lumen with a diameter slightly larger to the largest of the two proximal lumens. The confluence of the two proximal lumens comprises a single lumen with a reduced profile and cross sectional area. The lumens merge with the larger lumen at an angle greater than zero degrees, and the distal tip has a diameter equal to the diameter of the smaller proximal lumen. The proximal region serves as a directed passageway for different guidewires that enter the catheter through two proximal lumens and which may be reoriented through a convergence region for sequential exiting of the catheter tip.

Hemodialysis Device

A hemodialysis device is described herein. An exemplary hemodialysis device includes an import tube, a dialysis tube, and an export tube. The dialysis tube includes an inner dialysis tube, a dialysis membrane and an outer dialysis tube. The inner dialysis tube is within the dialysis membrane, which is within the outer dialysis tube. An inlet and an outlet of the inner tube are disposed at a first end of the outer dialysis tube. The inlet of the inner dialysis tube is coupled to the import tube and the outlet of the inner dialysis tube is coupled to the export tube. The dialysis tube is inserted into an artery of a patient, and thereby performs hemodialysis within the body. Since the hemodialysis in performed within the artery instead of drawing blood out of the body, the hemodialysis device will minimally affect blood pressure, which is more economic and safe.

Medical device

Apparatuses of the type broadly applicable to numerous medical applications in which it is desirable to insert one or more steerable or non-steerable catheters or similar devices into a working channel of an associated device, such as an endoscope, catheter, etc., or passageway of a patient, are disclosed. The apparatuses may include catheters having a dedicated guide wire channel and one or more of the following: viewing capabilities, a working channel, and auxiliary channels, such as insufflation/irrigation channels. The catheters may include a guide wire channel that is configured to provide the catheter or other device with rapid exchange capabilities.

VENOUS ACCESS CATHETERS AND METHODS FOR PORTAL VENOUS SYSTEM CATHETERIZATION
20170319820 · 2017-11-09 ·

The present invention contemplates devices and methods to administer nutritional compositions and/or therapeutic drugs directly into a portal venous system. For example, total parenteral nutrition therapy may be administered directly into the hepatic portal venous system thus circumventing known side effects of conventional parenteral administration. Alternatively, hepatic diseases and disorders may be treated using locally administered therapeutic drugs. Devices capable of direct portal venous system administration include, but are not limited to, a direct portal access catheter or a transjugular access catheter.

Methods and apparatus to inactivate infectious agents on a catheter residing in a body cavity

Methods and apparatus for the inactivation of infectious agents in, on or around a catheter residing in a patient's body cavity. The method comprises transmitting non-ultraviolet sterilizing electromagnetic radiation (EMR) substantially axially along an optical element in the catheter body. Through delivery of the sterilizing EMR to particular areas of highest infection, the present disclosure is able to inactivate the major sources of infection in catheters.
