09839764 · 2017-12-12 · ·

Catheter and methods for designing, making, and using catheters are disclosed. An example catheter is a balloon catheter. The balloon catheter may include a proximal shaft. The proximal shaft may be a bare metal hypotube having a skew value of −1.0 to −2.5. A midshaft may be attached to the proximal shaft. A distal shaft may be attached to the midshaft. A balloon may be coupled to the distal shaft. An inflation lumen may be defined that extends from the proximal shaft, through the midshaft, and into the distal shaft. The inflation lumen may be in fluid communication with the balloon.

Enhanced cross stream mechanical thrombectomy catheter

A thrombectomy catheter includes a catheter body having a catheter lumen. An outflow orifice is positioned along a catheter perimeter. A fluid jet emanator communicates with a high pressure tube. The fluid jet emanator includes at least one jet orifice for directing a fluid jet from the fluid jet emanator through the catheter lumen toward the outflow orifice. The fluid jet emanator provides a jet stream from the catheter body through the outflow orifice. The jet stream includes first and second stream portions. An entrainment fluid flow circuit includes at least the first stream portion, and the entrainment fluid flow circuit entrains particulate and macerates the particulate therein. An exhaust fluid flow path includes the second stream portion, and the exhaust fluid flow path draws entrained particulate from the entrainment fluid flow circuit at a location exterior to the catheter body and directs it toward the catheter proximal portion.

An implantable medical device (IMD) can include implantable pulse generator (IPG) devices, implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICD), cardiac resynchronization therapy defibrillator devices, neurostimulators or combinations thereof. In one example, the IMD can include a body assembly, which can provide at least one electrical signal corresponding to a therapy. The IMD can also include a cardiac lead assembly, which can have a proximal portion and a distal portion. The proximal portion of the cardiac lead assembly can be in communication with the body assembly to receive the therapy and the distal portion can be adapted to be coupled to an anatomical structure to transmit the at least one electrical signal to the anatomical structure. The proximal portion of the cardiac lead assembly can have a first stiffness and the distal portion can have a second stiffness. The first stiffness can be greater than the second stiffness.

Catheter for treating ectopic pregnancy, catheter guide, and catheter unit for treating ectopic pregnancy, including the catheter and the catheter guide

The present invention relates to a catheter for treating ectopic pregnancy, of which one end is inserted into the fallopian tube through the vaginal cavity, and the other end is exposed to the outside of the body, wherein the catheter comprises: at least one passage portion forming a liquid passage entering through the one end or the other end; a penetrative portion connected to the one end, and including a foremost end for penetrating the gestational sac; and a connecting portion connected to the other end, and capable of being coupled to at least one syringe tool for injecting or suctioning the liquid. Accordingly, side effects from open surgery can be prevented, and excellent treatment effects can be obtained by more safely and quickly treating ectopic pregnancy.

An ultrasound catheter with fluid delivery lumens, fluid evacuation lumens and a light source is used for the treatment of intracerebral hemorrhages. After the catheter is inserted into a blood clot in the brain, a lytic drug can be delivered to the blood clot via the fluid delivery lumens while applying ultrasonic energy to the treatment site. As the blood clot is dissolved, the liquefied blood clot can be removed by evacuation through the fluid evacuation lumens.

Lumen management catheter

An elongate medical device comprising a first lumen, wherein a cross-sectional shape of the first lumen comprises a peanut shape, and a plurality of second lumens, wherein the plurality of second lumens are proximate the first lumen, wherein the first lumen comprises a lumen liner that conforms to the cross-sectional shape of the first lumen, wherein the lumen liner comprises a first material and the elongate medical device comprises a second material, where the first material is different from the second material.

The invention provides a filter assembly including a string or wire such that a lasso type cincture is effected, said filter being openable and closeable while in deployed within a bodily vessel. A string lengthen or shorting adjustment mechanism, such as a ratchet or reel allows more length of string into the device or alternatively to shorten the length of available string in the system. The described invention, when used to ameliorate venous clots and most arterio-venous dialysis grafts, a filter-tipped aspirator is used downstream from the clot to capture and remove dislocated emboli. A method of using same is disclosed.

Urinary catheter with guide wire
11672945 · 2023-06-13 ·

A urinary catheter is readily removed and replaced with a second urinary catheter without introducing foreign matter or contaminants into the bladder. The first urinary catheter includes an extra lumen that houses a sheath therein to seal an opening or third hole at or near the tip of the catheter so that fluids do not enter the extra lumen. After the sheath seal is broken and the sheath is extracted from the catheter, a guidewire is threaded through the extra lumen and into the patient's bladder. The first urinary catheter is withdrawn from the patient, leaving the guidewire in the patient. A second urinary catheter is inserted into the patient over the guidewire, with the guidewire present in the urine lumen of the second urinary catheter. The guidewire then is extracted from the patient.

Drug Delivery Systems and Methods

Drug delivery systems and methods are disclosed herein. In some embodiments, a drug delivery system can be configured to deliver a drug to a patient in coordination with a physiological parameter of the patient (e.g., the patient’s natural cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) pulsation or the patient’s heart or respiration rate). In some embodiments, a drug delivery system can be configured to use a combination of infusion and aspiration to control delivery of a drug to a patient. Catheters, controllers, and other components for use in the above systems are also disclosed, as are various methods of using such systems.
