Multi-conduit manifolds, systems, and methods for applying reduced pressure to a subcutaneous tissue site
The illustrative embodiments described herein are directed to systems, methods, and apparatuses for applying a reduced pressure to a subcutaneous tissue site. In one instance, a manifold for applying reduced pressure to a subcutaneous tissue site includes a plurality of first conduits, each of the plurality of first conduits having a wall with at least one first aperture and at least one second aperture. At least one of the plurality of first conduits is operable to deliver reduced pressure to the subcutaneous tissue site. The plurality of first conduits is coupled in a spaced arrangement that forms an interior space. The manifold further includes a second conduit comprising the interior space and formed by a portion of each wall of the plurality of first conduits. The second conduit is in fluid communication with the plurality of first conduits via the at least one second aperture.
Multi-lumen medical devices and methods of manufacturing same
A method of manufacturing a catheter shaft includes extruding an inner polymeric layer having a main lumen and two or more side lumens spaced about the main lumen; forming an outer polymeric layer about the inner polymeric layer; and inserting at least one elongate member, such as a wire, through each side lumen of the inner polymeric layer. The side lumens are less than about the size of the main lumen. The method may further include the step of forming a braided layer between the inner polymeric layer and the outer polymeric layer. In an alternate embodiment, the method includes co-extruding an inner polymeric layer and a multi-lumen layer, the multi-lumen layer having two or more side lumens; forming an outer polymeric layer about the multi-lumen layer; and inserting at least one elongate member through each side lumen. Catheter assemblies made according to the described methods are also disclosed.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ANESTHETIZING EUSTACHIAN TUBE
A system for delivering a fluid to a Eustachian tube (ET) of a patient includes a guide member and a tubular member. The guide member includes a shaft having a proximal portion, a distal portion, and a bend at the distal portion. The bend is configured to provide access to an opening in the ET. The system further includes a tubular member comprising a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen extending therebetween. The tubular member is sized to fit within the ET. One or both of the tubular member and the guide member comprises a first stop member configured to engage the other of the tubular member or the guide member. The first stop member is configured to restrict a distal advancement of the tubular member relative to the guide member.
THROMBUS REMOVAL SYSTEMS AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
The present technology relates to systems and methods for delivering a dilator sheath to a target location within a patient. The dilator sheath can include a guidewire lumen configured to receive a guidewire. Embodiments are provided in which an interference fit between the guidewire and the guidewire lumen facilitate steering of the dilator sheath in at least one direction. Methods of delivering the dilator sheath are provided. Methods of delivering a medical device with the dilator sheath are also provided.
Catheter with flaring tip
In the present disclosure, embodiments include flaring tip microcatheters, methods of deploying flaring tip microcatheters, and embolization treatment methods. The flaring tip microcatheter may include a hollow shaft having a shaft lumen defined therein, a core disposed within the shaft lumen, and a tip including at least two petals affixed to a distal end of the core, the at least two petals including at least two wires wherein the core is hollow and defines a core lumen. The at least two wires may be configured to pull the at least two petals to form a flared configuration of the tip. The flared configuration of the tip may allow for laminar flow of a therapeutic agent distally from the tip.
Pulmonary nodule access devices and methods of using the same
A device for providing access to a nodule, lesion, or pathological area in a lung or other body organ or lumen. The device includes a sheath portion having a proximal end and a distal end and a plurality of stabilization wires. The sheath portion includes a primary lumen that extends from the proximal end to the distal end and a plurality of secondary lumens that extend from the proximal end to the distal end. The stabilization wires are configured to be slidably received within the secondary lumens. The length of the stabilization wires is greater than the length of the secondary lumens.
Autologous pleurodesis methods and devices
System and components for inducing pleurodesis or other sclerosis or desired adhesion conditions to treat a patient, while minimizing likelihood of tissue damage from direct application of sclerosis-enhancing materials. A tube device is provided that is configured to elute sclerosis-enhancing material and/or other medicaments including autologous or otherwise patient compatible blood and/or blood component(s) via an assembly including fenestrated drainage tube which may be a multi-lumen assembly allowing simultaneous infusion/elution and drainage. The assembly of tube device with outer (typically drainage) tube may include one or more features configured to enhance delivery of medicament and/or drainage through the same assembly.
Method of treating or alleviating erectile dysfunction
The present invention provides a method of treating or alleviating erectile dysfunction in a patient. Multiple electrodes are placed within a segment of the internal iliac artery of the patient and against blood vessel wall of the internal iliac artery. Radiofrequency energy is released through at least one of the multiple electrodes to nearby tissues, so as to increase the temperature of the nearby tissues and induce a thermal alteration of the nearby tissues.
Clip Delivery Catheter with Helical Multi-Lumen Extrusion for Improved Gripper Actuation and Methods of Making and Using Same
An interventional tool includes a delivery catheter defining a central lumen and a plurality of peripheral lumens, at least one of the plurality of peripheral lumens defining a helical path along a portion of the delivery catheter, and at least one line disposed within the at least one of the plurality of peripheral lumens, the at least one line being configured to actuate a medical device.
Devices and methods for assisting cardiac function
