Extended introducer for left radial access
An introducer extension with an extended, gradually curved section outside of the body enables a clinician to use an access site positioned across the body of that patient. An optional flexible or extendable section of the introducer extension allows a clinician to customize the shape of the introducer extension to a particular patient or clinician preference. The introducer extension includes a tubular sidewall extending along a longitudinal axis from a proximal end of the introducer extension to a distal end of the introducer extension and defining a lumen extending along the longitudinal axis. The tubular sidewall is configured to define a curved configuration having at least one curve between the proximal end and the distal end. The distal end is configured to couple to an introducer sheath. The lumen is configured to allow passage of a medical device.
DUAL LUMEN SHEATH FOR ARTERIAL ACCESS
A sheath assembly for the insertion of a percutaneous pump includes a tubular sheath body dimensioned for insertion into a blood vessel through a vessel aperture. The tubular sheath body includes a wall having a proximal end portion, a distal end portion, a longitudinal axis, an outer surface, an inner surface defining a first lumen substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis, and a second lumen disposed within the wall between the inner surface and the outer surface and extending from the proximal end portion to the distal end portion. The first lumen is dimensioned to allow passage of a portion of the percutaneous pump, and the second lumen is dimensioned for passage of a guidewire. A stylet is removably positioned to substantially occlude the second lumen. The stylet has a proximal end releasably secured to the sheath assembly.
TUBE
The present invention relates to a tube comprising polytetrafluoroethylene, and an object of the present invention is to provide a tube having an appropriate tensile strength and flexibility and being excellent internal insertion property. The object can he achieved by a tube comprising polytetralluoroethylene according to the present invention, in which, in a case where a surface shape of an inner surface of the tube is measured, when a direction of the measurement is parallel to a longitudinal direction of the tube and the measurement is performed in a forward direction and a reverse direction, a variation rate between a size of a periodic step measured in the forward direction and a size of the periodic step measured in the reverse direction is 5% or more.
VASCULAR ANCHORING INTRODUCER SHEATH
Among other things, there is disclosed structure and methods for maintaining access to a location in the body while reducing or eliminating the potential for pulling an access device (e.g. a catheter) back through an opening. An introducer sheath includes a distal indented portion and a balloon, so that once placed in a desired location through tissue, the balloon can be inflated to anchor the sheath against retraction. In particular embodiments, structure and methods for accessing the pericardial cavity via the right atrial appendage are shown.
Catheter including tapering coil member
In some examples of a method of forming a catheter, a structural support member is positioned over an inner liner. Prior to being positioned over the inner liner, the structural support member tapers in diameter along at least a portion of a length of the structural support member.
METHOD OF DELIVERING A THERAPEUTIC AGENT TO A SOLID TUMOR FOR TREATMENT
A method for delivering a therapeutic agent to a tumor through a target vessel includes delivering the therapeutic agent through a lumen of a catheter which has been coated or otherwise structured to reduce the wall shear stress during delivery of the immunotherapy and by generating turbulent flow during the delivery of the therapeutic agent.
ACCESS SHEATH FOR PROSTHETIC CARDIAC VALVE DELIVERY SYSTEMS
Delivery systems for delivering a valve prosthesis into the heart. A delivery system includes an access sheath configured to enter the patient's body and/or heart. The access sheath includes an inner lumen for accommodating one or more delivery catheters carrying one or more parts of the valve prosthesis. The access sheath may include a handle for controlling interchangeable access to the inner lumen of the access sheath. The handle may be configured to provide a hemostatic seal between an outer environment and the inner lumen of the access sheath. In some cases, a bending component is configured to bend the access sheath to facilitate entry of the access sheath into the patient's body.
Catheter systems and methods for medical procedures using catheters
In some aspects, catheter devices can include: a reinforcing member having a proximal and distal ends, the reinforcing member comprising: discrete longitudinally arranged structural regions between the proximal and distal ends comprising: a first, proximal, structural region defining a first series of wall perforations that generate structural properties within the first structural region, the first series of wall perforations setting a first stiffness of the first structural region; and a second structural region, disposed distally relative to the first structural region, defining a second series of wall perforations that generate structural properties within the second structural region, the second series of wall perforations setting a second stiffness of the second structural region, which is less than the first stiffness, wherein the second series of wall perforations differs from the first series of wall perforations by at least one of: cut balance, cut frequency, or pitch.
CATHETER
[Object]
Provided is a catheter that can enhance the smoothness of a lumen.
Solution
A balloon catheter includes: an outer shaft to be inserted into a body, the outer shaft including a main lumen that extends in an axial direction from a proximal end side toward a distal end side; and a second member exposed in a portion of an inner circumferential surface of the outer shaft to the main lumen and having frictional properties lower than those of a first member (an inner shaft) that forms the inner circumferential surface of the outer shaft. The balloon catheter further includes sub-shafts that include sub-lumens extending in the axial direction and that are formed of the second member, and a portion of outer circumferential surfaces of the sub-shafts is exposed in a portion of the inner circumferential surface of the outer shaft to the main lumen.
Embolization catheter with integral filter
An embolization microcatheter is configured to deliver embolization particles to a target area and minimize or prevent embolization of a non-target area. The microcatheter includes a section, located between the distal and proximal ends of the microcatheter, having a skeleton formed of braided wires and a polymeric layer intercalated into and/or overlaying the skeleton. This section includes a plurality of axial slits, each slit having a smallest cross-sectional dimension configured to prevent outflow of the embolization particles.
