A catheter assembly including catheter and a stylet inserted within a central lumen of the catheter. The catheter may be peripherally inserted central catheter including a hub coupled to an elongate body defining a central lumen with one or more extension legs coupled to the hub. The stylet includes a stylet tube having a plurality of magnets together with a lubricant disposed within a lumen of the stylet tube. The lubricant enables sliding displacement of the magnets within the lumen during a bending event of the stylet. A wire may also be disposed within the lumen of stylet tube and the wire may wrapped around each magnet. An attachment member of the stylet may be coupled with a connector of the catheter. An electrode may be coupled to the wire.

Combination steerable catheter and systems

A steerable catheter has a body with an outer surface and an inner surface defining a central lumen. The outer surface and inner surface define a wall of the body, which has a plurality of steering lumen and control lumen extending longitudinally therethrough. The body includes a body material. The steering lumen and control lumen have a control lumen lining and steering lumen lining, respectively, with a higher durometer than the body material. A steering wire is positioned within the steering lumen and a control wire is positioned within the control lumen.

EXPANDABLE SHEATH AND LINER THEREFOR

An expandable sheath body for a sheath assembly. The sheath body has a tubular frame having a lumen therein. The frame has interstices therein. The frame is expandable to a larger diameter and contractable to a smaller diameter, and also flexible. The sheath body has an inner liner formed over a surface of the lumen defined by the tubular frame and an outer liner formed over an exterior surface of the frame. The inner liner and an inner layer of a multilayer outer liner may be made of expanded polytetrafluoroethylene. The expanded polytetrafluoroethylene may be infused with silicone oil for increased lubricity.
