METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR TREATING DIABETES AND RELATED DISEASES AND DISORDERS
Systems, device and methods treat target tissue to provide a therapeutic benefit to the patient. A tissue treatment device comprises a tissue treatment element constructed and arranged to treat target tissue, such as duodenal mucosa tissue.
INJECTION SYSTEMS
Devices and methods are described for injecting therapeutics into tissue. For example, some embodiments disclosed in this document describe devices and methods for injecting muscle precursor cells into the sphincter urethrae to treat stress urinary incontinence.
Medical devices for fluid delivery
Medical devices and methods for delivering fluid. The medical devices include one or more needles for delivering fluid. The methods may include expanding an expandable member such as an inflatable member to expand an expandable scaffold outward toward a lumen wall.
PERI-VASCULAR TISSUE ABLATION CATHETER WITH SUPPORT STRUCTURES
An intravascular catheter for peri-vascular and/or peri-urethral tissue ablation includes multiple needles advanced through supported guide tubes which expand around a central axis to engage the interior surface of the wall of the renal artery or other vessel of a human body allowing the injection an ablative fluid for ablating tissue, and/or nerve fibers in the outer layer or deep to the outer layer of the vessel, or in prostatic tissue. The system may also include a means to limit and/or adjust the depth of penetration of the ablative fluid into and beyond the tissue of the vessel wall. The catheter may also include structures which provide radial and/or lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes expand uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened injection needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall.
Delivery devices, systems and methods for delivering therapeutic agents
Delivery devices, systems, and methods are configured to enhance retention of a therapeutic agent delivered at a treatment site, for example, via impeding agent backflow. A device may include sheath having a first end, a second end, and a length between the first end and the second end. The sheath may include an outer diameter and an inner channel between the first end and the second end, and at least one penetrating member configured to form a channel at the treatment site. The device may include an elongate member having a first end, a second end, and a length between the first end and the second end, the elongate member being configured to move relative to the sheath. The elongate member may be configured to control the movement of the penetrating member with respect to the sheath.
DELIVERY CATHETER AND METHOD OF DISEASE TREATMENT
Embodiments of the present invention provide a device and a method for at least one disease by delivering an effective amount of energy and/or formulation to tissue on or near to a body lumen wall. The formulation can include at least one of a gas, a vapor, a liquid, a solution, an emulsion, a suspension of one or more ingredients, or a combination thereof. The amounts of the formulation and/or energy delivered can be effective to injure or damage tissue, nerves, and/or nerve endings to relieve disease symptoms.
INFUSION DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DRUG DELIVERY
A medical device (10) and method for infusing a drug or like substance in vivo within tissue of an organ of a patient are provided. The device (10) includes an outer cannula (12) having a distal and proximal ends (14, 16) and a plurality of microcannulas (20, 22, 24) extending within a length of the outer cannula (12). Each of the microcannulas (20, 22, 24) having a distal end (28) and a proximal end (26) and being movable relative to the outer cannula (12) in a lengthwise direction between retracted and extended positions such that, in the retracted position, the distal ends (28) of the microcannulas (20, 22, 24) are located within the outer cannula (12) and, in the extended position, the distal ends (28) of the microcannulas (20, 22, 24) extend beyond the distal end (14) of the outer cannula (12) in a splayed configuration.
The catheter may also include structures which provide radial and/or lateral support to the guide tubes so that the guide tubes expand uniformly and maintain their position against the interior surface of the vessel wall as the sharpened injection needles are advanced to penetrate into the vessel wall.
CATHETER FOR FORMING AN INTERVASCULAR BRIDGE TO RELIEVE VESSEL COMPRESSION
A catheter (10) is provided for relieving compression among blood vessels by introducing a filler into an intravascular space to form a bridge connecting the vessels in order to relieve the compression. The catheter is provided with a shaft (14), expandable elements (16,18) supported by the shaft for reliving compression in the vessel temporarily, and a retractable needle (30) located between the expandable elements. When deployed, such as by using an actuator (40), the needle may deliver the filler to the intervascular space to form a bridge between the vessels for relieving the compression once the catheter is removed.
MEDICAL INSTRUMENT WITH INJECTION NEEDLES
The invention concerns an instrument, for a medical application, said instrument comprising a body (1), at least one needle, channel means (15) to bring a fluid to said at least one needle, and actuating means (6) for moving said at least one needle from a retracted position to an extended position by rotation of actuating means (6) with respect to the body.
