VASCULAR ACCESS

A system for providing vascular access in a patient's body may comprise at least one hemostatic valve and at least one clamp to be used with a vascular graft. The vascular graft comprises a tubular body having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end being configured to be attached to a vessel in a patient's body. The at least one valve is configured to be attached to the distal end of the graft's tubular body and comprises a housing including a flexible membrane that allows a medical device to be inserted through the membrane into said vascular graft. The valve further comprises an introducer sheath configured to be inserted into the distal end of the graft's tubular body. The at least one clamp is configured to be disposed around the graft's tubular body and has a first configuration that allows insertion of the valve's introducer sheath into the distal end of the graft's tubular body and a second configuration that allows clamping of the graft against the valve's introducer sheath, when inserted in the graft's tubular body.

Vascular access

A system for providing vascular access in a patient's body may comprise at least one hemostatic valve (610) and at least one clamp (210) to be used with a vascular graft (110). The vascular graft (110) comprises a tubular body having a proximal end (110A) and a distal end (110B), the proximal end (110A) being configured to be attached to a vessel in a patient's body. The at least one valve (610) is configured to be attached to the distal end (110B) of the graft's tubular body and comprises a housing (616) including a flexible membrane (611) that allows a medical device (810) to be inserted through the membrane (611) into said vascular graft (110). The valve (610) further comprises an introducer sheath (615) configured to be inserted into the distal end (110B) of the graft's tubular body. The at least one clamp (210) is configured to be disposed around the graft's tubular body and has a first configuration that allows insertion of the valve's introducer sheath (615) into the distal end (110B) of the graft's tubular body and a second configuration that allows clamping of the graft (110) against the valve's introducer sheath (615), when inserted in the graft's tubular body.

Hemostasis valve assembly and Method for assembling a hemostasis valve

A hemostasis valve assembly includes a hollow body delimiting an inner passage for inserting a medical material, the inner passage extending between a proximal opening and a distal opening of the hollow body, a distal seal arranged at the distal opening, a proximal seal arranged at the proximal opening, a spacer element arranged between the distal seal and the proximal seal, and an end cap. The distal seal is an elastic valve that is sealed when idle. The end cap has a fixing element engaging a support element of the hollow body to fix a stacked assembly including the distal seal, the spacer element, and the proximal seal inside the hollow body.

Biopsy caps and seals, and methods for making and using the same may be provided in conjunction with an endoscope assembly. A seal may include a main body including a circumferential outer wall surrounding a central lumen. The seal may include at least one support wall extending radially from the outer wall towards a center of the lumen, and at least one helical flap extending from the support wall helically downward along an inner surface of the outer wall, where the at least one helical flap defines an opening at the center of the lumen. The seal may alternatively include a plurality of projections extending radially inward from the outer wall towards a center of the lumen, where the plurality of projections are arranged in a series of circumferentially and angularly offset layers.

Aspects herein relate to a low-friction septum for providing a leak-resistant seal for use in a vascular access device. In an embodiment, a device for vascular access hemostasis is included having an enclosure defining a cavity and configured to at least partially receive a medical device. The device can include a first seal portion and a second seal portion, the cavity disposed between the first seal portion and the second seal portion. The device can include a barrel in structural communication with the second seal portion, the second seal portion including a septum seal. The second seal portion can define two or more discrete portions, each separated by one or more split lines. The discrete portions can include a mating surface to interface with mating surfaces of other discrete portions. The mating surface can include a surface topology including raised portions and depressions. Other embodiments are also included herein.
