Valve device, valve insert, external functional means, treatment apparatus, and method
The present invention relates to a valve device comprising an elastic valve insert and a reception means for the valve insert. It further relates to a valve insert, an external functional means and a treatment apparatus, as well as a manufacturing method and methods in which the valve device of the invention may be employed.
Male reflux valve
A male reflux valve comprising a distal body portion and a proximal body portion, the proximal body portion having a male connection for connection to a female connection of an access device, a valve element operatively positioned within the distal body portion, a core operatively positioned within the distal body portion to retain the valve element into sealing engagement with the distal body portion and an actuator reciprocably retained within a generally circular cylindrical longitudinal bore of the proximal body portion in engagement with the valve element to open the valve element when engaged by the female connection of the access device.
AUTO-INJECTOR AND RELATED METHODS OF USE
An auto-injector may include a container capable of comprising a medicament; a shuttle coupled to the container and on a horizontal path with a first state and a second state; an energy source configured to release energy to translate the container and to translate the shuttle, preferably the energy source is pressurized fluid from a can; an impediment preventing horizontal movement of the shuttle before activation of the auto-injector; and a needle having a first end configured to extend out of the auto-injector, and a second end configured to extend into the container, wherein the second end of the needle and the container are not in fluid communication with one another before activation of the auto-injector.
Check valve
A check valve for use in a fluid pathway. The check valve may have a diaphragm and a plurality of supports extending from the diaphragm. The check valve and supports have a line of symmetry, and deformation of the check valve as it moves from a closed position to an opened position can be generally along the line of symmetry.
Spray dispenser for nasal drugs
Spray dispenser for nasal drugs includes a non-pressurized bottle for storing medical fluids in particular of drugs and other sterile fluids, a mounting body mounted to the top of the bottle and an actuating body, wherein the bottle, the mounting body and the actuating body are aligned along a longitudinal axis, and wherein the actuating body is slideably attached to the mounting body along the longitudinal axis and movable between an actuating position and a non-actuating position, wherein the spray dispenser includes an applicator nozzle and an actuating section for moving the actuating body into the actuating position, characterized in that the applicator nozzle has a nozzle axis which is inclined with respect to the longitudinal axis, the applicator nozzle facing away from the actuating section.
Check valve assembly
An infusion set check valve assembly includes a self-contained housing that defines inlet ports and an outlet port. The assembly also includes at least one check valve disposed within the self-contained housing between the outlet channel and at least one of the inlet ports. The at least one check valve is configured to open for a first fluid to flow from a first inlet to a patient line via an outlet channel while a second fluid also flows from a second inlet to the patient line via the outlet channel. The at least one check valve closes to prevent the first fluid from flowing to the patient line via the outlet channel while the second fluid flows to the patient line.
Transfer device valve
A valve is disclosed, the valve comprising a housing having an first opening and a second opening, and an elastomeric member positioned in the housing, the elastomeric member comprising a thickness, a continuous peripheral wall projecting from the thickness, and a slit extending through the thickness, a continuous portion of the peripheral wall creating a continuous sealable contact with the housing and partitioning the housing into an upper section and a lower section, the elastomeric member configured such that upon creating a pressure differential between the upper section and the lower section of the housing causes either: (i) the peripheral wall to deflect from the housing permitting fluid flow around the elastomeric member; or (ii) the slit to open permitting fluid flow through the elastomeric member. Methods using the valve are also disclosed.
NEEDLELESS CONNECTOR HAVING CHECK VALVE WITH CONCAVE FLOW SURFACE
A needleless connector may include a housing having an inlet port, an outlet port, and an inner surface defining an internal cavity extending between the inlet and outlet ports, and a compressible valve reciprocally disposed within the internal cavity. In a closed state, a top section of a head portion of the compressible valve may have a planar shape configured to contact and seal against the inner surface of the housing. In an open state, where the compressible valve is subject to an axial force, the top section of the head portion may be lodged between two pinch points between opposing walls of an inwardly angled portion of the internal surface. Additionally, in the open state, the top section of the head portion may have a non-planar shape defining a fluid path extending at least partially between opposing walls on an outwardly angled portion of the internal surface.
VASCULAR ACCESS DEVICE HAVING A VENTED BLOOD COLLECTION PORT
A vascular access device may have a vented blood collection port. The vented blood collection port can be provided on a side port of the vascular access device that is positioned between a catheter adapter and an extension set. The side port provides separate fluid pathways for collecting blood and injecting fluids to thereby isolate the blood from the extension set. The vented blood collection port may be provided in the form of a septum housing that moves from a blood collection position to a fluid injection position. When in the blood collection position, the septum housing may enable the extension set to be primed and remain primed during a blood draw.
Medical functional device with a valve seat for a remanent check valve
A medical functional device with a valve seat for a check valve wherein the check valve is embodied such that it takes, in addition to a first position which is suitable for gas sterilization, a second, functional position, by means of applying force onto a section of the check valve or by means of moving or shifting the section, in which the check valve adopts a check or non-return function, wherein the check valve is embodied such that it remains in the second position after release or shortfall of the force or the moving effect following an accomplished transfer into the second position.
