Valve for fire protection
One aspect of the invention provides a diaphragm valve having a plurality of sealing members disposed on the diaphragm, the plurality of sealing member and the seat define two intermediate chambers, coupled to at least one and potentially more, alarm port, to alert of leakage of fluid from the inlet side and/or the outlet side. A second aspect of the invention provides at least one angled lip disposed to improve the seal quality of any diaphragm valve. The angled lip enjoys increased sealing responsive to increased pressure of the fluid it seals against. The angled lip may be disposed on the inlet side, he outlet side, or both. In certain embodiments the lip is utilized in a diaphragm having two sealing member forming a single intermediate chamber therebetween when the valve is in the closed condition.
Portable brinell hardness tester with stented through bore pumping chamber
A portable Brinell metal hardness tester has a test head mounted in a carriage, movable vertically along elevating screws, and includes a reciprocable pumping rack movable in response to manual movement of a pumping lever, for pumping hydraulic fluid into a passageway of the tester to increase hydraulic fluid pressure in the tester to a level required for metal hardness testing; and a stent located in the passageway for permitting pumped hydraulic fluid to flow through the passageway into a test head portion of the tester to apply hydraulic fluid to the ball contacting the test piece and interferingly stopping the rack upon movement of the rack into the passageway by a preselected amount.
Gas flow monitor
The invention relates to a gas flow monitor wherein the closing flow has the same value in a plurality of installation positions. According to the invention, the gas flow monitor is further intended to be suitable for small pressure loss values. Design and production are intended to be as simple as possible. The gas flow monitor according to the invention, comprising a gas-tight housing (1) that has a valve seat (4) for an axially movable closing body (10) in the interior that to is held against the direction of flow in the opening position by spring force, is characterized in that the play of said mounting is greater in the open position and continuously narrows upon beginning the closing movement.
SAFETY DEVICE FOR INSTALLATION IN A GAS-SUPPLY SYSTEM, IN PARTICULAR, AN ACETYLENE-SUPPLY SYSTEM
Relevant specifications in the field of gas supply provide for different safety devices for installation in a gas-supply system, in particular, an acetylene-supply system. To provide such a safety device, which is characterized by a compact structure and a high level of operational reliability, this invention proposes that a valve body (1) incorporates an over-pressure valve (4; 104) of a quick-action shut-off device, a control valve (3; 103) of a pressure-limiting device, and a safety valve (2; 102), whereby the safety valve (2; 102) can be fluidically connected to the over-pressure valve (4; 104) and the control valve (3; 103), and closes either when the over-pressure valve (4; 104) opens due to an inlet pressure that is above the inlet-pressure limit value or when the control valve (3; 103) opens due to an outlet pressure that is above an outlet-pressure limit value.
Cryogenic check valve
The subject matter of this specification can be embodied in, among other things, a check valve that includes a valve body having a bore and a seat along the bore, a fluid inlet at a first end of the bore, and a fluid outlet a second end of the bore, a stopper selectively movable along the bore to contact the seat, the bore being occluded when the stopper is in contact with the seat, a first bias member on a first side of the stopper within the bore, the first bias member providing a first bias force upon the stopper in a first direction, and a second bias member on a second side of the stopper within the bore, the second side being opposite the first side, the second bias member providing a second bias force upon the stopper in a second direction opposite the first direction.
Spring controlling valve
A valve member for a spring-loaded valve assembly includes a top portion having a spring retaining recess, the spring retaining recess extending into the top portion to form a void space, the void space to receive at least one coil of a spring, the spring retaining recess having a recess diameter that is smaller than a top portion diameter, wherein the recess diameter is larger than a rest diameter of a spring base including the coil, the spring retaining recess blocking expansion of the at least one coil when the spring is compressed. The valve member also includes a bottom portion coupled to the top portion. The valve member further includes a sealing element positioned axially below a shoulder of the top portion and legs coupled to the bottom portion.
