Method for stiffening a curved sheet-metal panel by means of a cardboard panel
A method for stiffening a curved sheet-metal panel, in which a flat cardboard panel is applied to the concave face of the curved sheet-metal panel, includes a step in which a number of parallel cuts that pass partially through the thickness of the cardboard panel are made in that face of the cardboard panel that is intended to be applied to the concave face of the sheet-metal panel. A number of adhesive strips that each cover said parallel cuts are applied to said face of the cardboard panel and said face, provided with said adhesive strips, of the cardboard panel is applied to said concave face of the sheet-metal panel.
Thermal insulation products for use with non-planar objects
High-efficiency thermal insulation products and methods for use thereof for insulating cylindrically-shaped and other non-planar objects such as pipes, tanks, and the like. One method includes heating a substantially gas-tight enclosure to render the gas-tight enclosure pliable, wrapping the inner surface of the gas-tight enclosure about at least a portion of a non-planar surface, and cooling the gas-tight enclosure to render the gas-tight enclosure substantially unpliable about the non-planar surface. The gas-tight enclosure may include a sealed interior portion having a pressure that is not greater than about 500 mbar at a temperature of about 20 C. before the heating step and/or after the cooling step. A ratio of a thickness of the gas-tight enclosure to a radius of curvature of the portion of the non-planar surface may be at least about 1 to 8.
Method for adhering parts and device for implementing said method
A method is provided of bonding together at least two parts. The method includes assembling together at least two parts and at least one adhesive layer, the adhesive being configured so that its adhesive power increases on heating as a result of it polymerizing, at least one of the parts being made of composite material or of metal, the adhesive layer being present, after assembly, between the parts, the assembled together parts and the adhesive being present in a chamber defined by a wall, the wall having an inside face situated facing a first part present between the adhesive layer and the wall, the first part being intended to be bonded to a second part and only a fraction of the second part being present inside the chamber; and applying a liquid against the wall on its side opposite from the chamber.
Arrow fletching system and method
A system and method for arrow fletching by bonding vanes to a vinyl wrap allows for efficient, accurate fletching of arrows. The vanes are placed into a number of slits positioned on a jig plate. The jig plate in a holder is placed into a heat press, thereby bonding the vanes to the vinyl wrapping and creating a fletched arrow wrap. Once the fletched arrow wraps are cooled they are placed in a fletching jig, with an adhesive coating on the backside of the wrap exposed by removing a paper backing. The shaft of each arrow is rolled over the adhesive coating such that the wrap becomes affixed to the shaft of the arrow, thereby fletching the shaft.
Sheet bonding method, sheet bonding device, and transfusion bag
A sheet bonding device includes a pressurization mold which is constituted of an upper mold and a lower mold and performs sealing through heating by sandwiching a sealing target portion of a bag main body and a sealing target portion of a gas barrier function sheet with pressurization surfaces; a plurality of support pins which are provided in the lower mold so as to be retractable and position the gas barrier function sheet with respect to one surface of the bag main body by penetrating the sealing target portions of the bag main body and the gas barrier function sheet; and gas spray means for making the gas barrier function sheet float by spraying inert gas to an area-enlarged portion, which does not overlap the bag main body, of the gas barrier function sheet supported by the support pins.
Rotary die system
A rotary die system that includes first and second axially aligned, coacting rotary dies positioned adjacent one another. Each die includes a working surface having a plurality of recesses defined therein. The recesses in the first die are each configured to align with a recess in the second die to form a product cavity upon coaction of the first and second dies. The product cavity is configured to receive a product. Each recess in at least one of the first or second dies includes a pin therein that is configured to puncture a film that at least partially surrounds the product.
Carbon fiber tubular pole and method of manufacture
A carbon fiber tubular pole and method of construction thereof. The pole includes a left in place lightweight mandrel, preferably formed of tubular polyvinylchloride or cardboard, which substantially reduces cost of manufacture. A socket is formed in the carbon fiber tubular pole for receiving an adjacent carbon fiber tubular pole.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR POSITIONING A PLY OF MATERIAL OF A COMPOSITE COMPONENT ALONG AN ARCUATE SURFACE
A method and device of positioning a ply of material for a composite component along an arcuate surface are presented. The ply comprises two end portions and a plurality of fiber tows extending longitudinally between the two end portions. The arcuate surface has a curved edge and a planar surface extending from the curved edge. The method comprises placing a first longitudinal edge portion of the ply along the curved edge; and rotating at least one of the two end portions away from the arcuate surface about a pivot axis normal to the ply, so as to cause sliding of at least some of the plurality of fiber tows relative to each other, and substantial aligning of the plurality of fiber tows in a curved direction along the arcuate surface. A method of positioning a ply of material for a composite component onto a curved mandrel is also presented.
LABEL SHEET FOR EXTENDED TAB LABEL
A label sheet for making a pharmaceutical label for placement on a medicinal container, the label sheet includes a front printing face having an adhesive backing, a first portion for adhesion to the container and a second and third portion that form an information tab projecting radially from the container. A backing sheet liner covers the adhesive backing. The front printing face may have a score formed therein defining a first portion and a second portion of the front printing face. Optionally, the score may define a border between the first portion and the second portion, whereby the second portion projects from the container when the first portion is attached to the container. The backing sheet liner may have a liner score line formed therein corresponding to the score in the front face for removing the releasable backing liner from the first portion.
CURVED DISPLAY PANEL MANUFACTURING METHOD
A curved display panel manufacturing method is provided. The curved display panel manufacturing method in which a display panel in a desired curved shape is manufactured using a prefabricated flat liquid crystal panel including a lower substrate and an upper substrate formed of glass and opposite each other, each of the lower substrate and an upper substrate being provided with a polarizing plate, and a liquid crystal layer formed between the lower substrate and the upper substrate, includes separating the polarizing plates from the lower substrate and the upper substrate, removing the outer surface of the liquid crystal panel to reduce the lower substrate and the upper substrate from which the polarizing plates are separated to a designated thickness, and bending the liquid crystal panel having the removed outer surface in a desired curved shape.
