Intravascular pump with controls and display screen on handle
The present invention provides an intravascular blood pump comprising a handle in operational connection and communication with a rotational motor and impeller assembly that is configured for placement and positioning within a patient's vasculature. The handle comprises a display for displaying real-time physiological parameters associated with the blood pump procedure and controls for modifying operational parameters. In some embodiments, the display portion of the handle may be connected and/or disconnected from the non-display portion to allow re-use of the display portion in subsequent blood pump procedures.

Blood filtration systems
A blood filtration system can reduce the amount of plasma constituents (e.g., water and/or electrolytes) in the blood of the patient, and accordingly increase the hematocrit value of the patient. The blood filtration system (e.g., a controller, or the like) can determine a hematocrit value of a patient. The blood filtration system can determine a venous pressure of vasculature of a patient. The blood filtration system can compensate for pressure head in a component of a blood circuit (e.g., a withdrawal line of a catheter), for example to improve the accuracy of the venous pressure determination. The blood filtration system can determine one or more resistance characteristics of a blood circuit for the blood filtration system. The resistance characteristics can correspond to a resistance to a flow of blood through a component of the blood circuit.
HVAD FLOW PULSATILITY TRACKER
A method of predicting an adverse event in a patient having an implantable blood pump including correlating a pulsatility value to a flow trough value associated with the blood pump to determine a flow peak value; dividing the determined flow peak value by a pump current to determine a pulsatility peak value; tracking a first moving average of the pulsatility peak value, the first moving average defining a threshold range; tracking a second moving average of the pulsatility peak value, the second moving average being faster than the first moving average; and generating an alert when the second moving average deviates from the threshold range.

Implantable blood pumps comprising a linear bearing
Systems and methods for generating blood flow with a pump incorporating linear bearing technology are provided. The pump may include an actuator assembly, a moving assembly, and a linear hydrodynamic or thin-film bearing positioned within a housing. The moving assembly may include at least one magnet and the actuator assembly may include a magnetic assembly for selectively generating a magnetic field to cause linear reciprocating movement of the moving assembly with respect to the actuator assembly. The linear hydrodynamic or thin-film bearing may include a bearing portion on the moving assembly that is in fluid communication with a bearing portion on the actuator assembly or pump housing. The system may involve an implantable pump, an extracorporeal battery and a controller coupled to the implantable pump. The implantable pump may be suitable for use as a left ventricular assist device (LVAD).

Integrated System to Assist Cardiovascular Functioning with Implanted Cardiac Device and Sensor-Enabled Wearable Device
This invention is a system to assist human cardiovascular functioning which integrates the operation of an implanted cardiac device and a wearable device with an arcuate array of biometric sensors. Analysis of data from the biometric sensors on the wearable device is used to automatically adjust and optimize the operation of the implanted cardiac device. This system can work as a closed loop system for assisting and improving human cardiovascular functioning.
