Medical product comprising a functional element for the invasive use in a patient's body
So as to be able to determine the position of a functional element as precisely as possible during the invasive use of a blood pump in a patient's body without the use of imaging methods, the blood pump is connected to a main sensor which records signals of the patient's heart, which are compared to other electrophysiological heart signals recorded by several sensors distributed on the body surface so as to allow the position of the blood pump to be determined by way of linking.

METHOD OF DETERMINING A SYSTEM COMPRESSIBILITY VALUE OF A MEDICAL MEMBRANE PUMP DRIVE
The present invention relates to a method of determining a system compressibility value of a medical membrane pump drive, wherein a first and second pressure level are moved to and a first and second operating parameter value of the membrane pump drive are detected; wherein the system compressibility value is determined on the basis of the detected operating parameter values; and wherein the membrane of the membrane pump drive is supported at a rigid surface during the determination of the system compressibility value.
Methods for LVAD operation during communication losses
Methods, systems, and devices for an adaptable blood pump are disclosed herein. The blood pump can be part of a mechanical circulatory support system that can include a system controller and the blood pump. The blood pump can include a rotary motor and a control unit that can communicate with the system controller. The blood pump can determine when communication with the system controller is established or has been lost. The blood pump can retrieve one or several back-up parameters when communication with the system controller has been lost, and can operate according to these back-up parameters.
Automated pre-filtration air management and filtration systems and methods
Filtration systems and methods using a pump and pressure sensor are provided for improved efficiency in fluid filtration systems. A filtration system includes a pre-filter container joined to a post-filter container by a filter line having a filter. To reduce the time required for filtration a pump and pressure sensor are included in a filter inlet flow path. The pump also is used to provide air management in the system via pre-filtration evacuation of air from at least the filter.
PUMP PRELOAD INDEX/INDICATOR
A method of estimating an amount of work available to be performed by a blood pump implanted in a patient includes calculating a first coordinate value characterizing a volume of blood impelled in the pump and a second coordinate value characterizing a differential pressure across the pump for each of a plurality of flow rate data points of a given cardiac cycle of the patient, each flow rate data point indicative of a flow rate of blood through the pump. An area enclosed by the first and second coordinate values of the plurality of flow rate data points is determined, the determined area being indicative of an amount of work available to be performed by the blood pump.
Method and device for the intermittent occlusion of the coronary sinus
In a method for intermittently occluding the coronary sinus, in which the coronary sinus is occluded using an occlusion device, the fluid pressure in the occluded coronary sinus is continuously measured and stored, the fluid pressure curve is determined as a function of time, and the occlusion of the coronary sinus is triggered and/or released as a function of at least one characteristic value derived from the measured pressure values. The pressure increase and/or pressure decrease per time unit each occurring at a heart beat are used as characteristic values.
Method and computer system for processing a heart sensor output
The disclosure relates to a method and system for processing a heart sensor output, wherein a blood flow and a simulated aortic blood pressure are derived from a sensed blood pressure using an arterial flow model and values for arterial flow parameters. The simulated aortic blood pressure is matched to a part of the sensed blood pressure in the cardiac cycle by manipulating at least one of the values for the arterial flow parameters of the arterial flow model.
DEVICE AND SYSTEM FOR AUGMENTING A HEART
A radially compressible cardiac gripper for at least mechanical stimulation of a heart. The cardiac gripper has two gripper arms, wherein at least one of the gripper arms comprises a flexible section configured for movement of the arm having the flexible section.
PRESSURE SENSING EXTRACORPOREAL CIRCULATION DEVICE
An extracorporeal blood circulation system reduces the risk of generation of air bubbles entering the circulation circuit associated with placement of a pressure sensor that detects a patient's blood pressure at a blood removal line. Instead of directly measuring pressure at the blood removal line where suction exists, an intermediate part pressure sensor detects pressure between a centrifugal pump and an oxygenator. A controller identifies a discharge pressure specific to the centrifugal pump based on a rotation speed of the pump and a blood flow rate. The discharge pressure and the intermediate pressure values are combined to estimate the pressure at the blood removal line.
