Spindle clamp for tool holder
10058927 · 2018-08-28 · ·

A machine tool clamping device for releasably holding a tool holder having a tapered shank and a knob protruding from the tapered shank, the clamping device having: a spindle, rotatable about an axis, and having a tapered socket at a lower end thereof and an axial passage, the tapered socket being complementary in shape to the shank of a tool holder. Clamping members are pinned to the spindle and extend into the axial passage, the clamping members being pivotal between a clamped position in which the clamping members clamp the tool holder knob, and an unclamped position in which the clamping members release the tool holder knob. A drawbar is slidable within the spindle axial passage between the clamping members, the drawbar having a surface that acts to pivot the clamping members between the clamped and unclamped positions depending on the position of the drawbar within the axial passage. A spring is arranged between the drawbar and the spindle to bias the drawbar to the clamped position.

CHUCK DEVICE

A chuck device includes a chuck main body, an exchange member, an axial direction regulating mechanism, and a circumferential direction regulating mechanism. The axial direction regulating mechanism has a circumferential groove section, which extends in the circumferential direction, that is recessed into one of the chuck main body and the exchange member and a radially protruding section, which is able to protrude in the radial direction, that is disposed in the other of the chuck main body and the exchange member. The circumferential direction regulating mechanism has an axially recessed section, which is recessed in the axial direction, that is disposed in one of the chuck main body and the exchange member and an axially protruding section, which is able to protrude in the axial direction, that is disposed in the other of the chuck main body and the exchange member.

Provided is a method for evaluating tool installation when fastening a tool to a main shaft of a machine tool, wherein the method includes a storage step for storing a reference location of a draw bar at the time when the tool is contacting a mounting seat of the main shaft, in a state in which foreign matter has been removed from the surface of the mounting seat and from the contacting surface of the tool. The method for evaluating tool installation includes a measuring step for measuring a measurement location of the draw bar when the tool is installed on the main shaft, and a determination step for determining the installation state of the tool to be abnormal if a measurement-location error with respect to the reference location exceeds a predetermined determination range.

A milling apparatus has a housing, a drive shaft extending along and rotatable about an axis in the housing and an axially compressible and radially expansible washer stack on the front end of the drive shaft. A tool is held by the on the shaft. A bolt projects radially in a slot through the shaft and is limitedly axially displaceable in the shaft. An actuator element shiftable axially in the passage projects axially forward out of the drive shaft and is fixed in the bolt. A clamping assembly axially compresses and radially expands the stack so as to lock the tool to the drive shaft. A spring assembly is braced axially forward against the housing and axially rearward against the bolt. A piston axially displaceable on the drive shaft in the housing bears axially forward on the bolt.

CLAMPING ASSEMBLY AND CLAMPING DEVICE WITH SUCH A CLAMPING ASSEMBLY

A clamping assembly for a clamping device for clamping of a workpiece or tool or a toolholder on machine component with a clamping cone movable axially via a tension rod and several clamping elements arranged spaced from each other in the peripheral direction on the outside of the clamping cone, which can be moved between a radially outer clamped position and a radially inner released position by axial movement of the tension rod. The clamping cone includes two parts movable opposite each other in the axial direction.

A clamping device is arranged for releasably holding a tool holder shank. The clamping device includes a housing, a drawbar mounted reciprocally movable inside a bore in the housing, and an actuator. An aperture extends along an actuator axis and is delimited by an aperture housing surface and a drawbar groove. A first locking pressure applying surface on the actuator acts upon a first locking pressure receiving surface in the drawbar groove to effectuate a displacement of the drawbar when the actuator is moved along the actuator axis in a first direction, resulting in clamping of the tool holder shank.
