Faceless labels and related systems and methods
Multilayer laminates are described which include one or more layers or regions of printed images or graphics captured under an outer adhesive layer. The laminates include two layers of a release coating applied to opposite faces of a support layer. Also described are systems and methods for applying wound rolls of the multilayer laminates to a collection of articles.
Removable covering and interactive packaging
A removable covering for an object includes an adhered section that is adhered to the object (e.g., adhered to a receiving surface of the object via an adhesive layer) and a free section that is not adhered to the object. The removable covering is sufficiently flexible to allow at least partial removal of the adhered section from the object by application of a force to the removable covering. Typically, the removable covering is adhered to the object such that resistance to removal of the covering from the object varies at different zones of attachment between the removable covering and the object. The resistance variation may be achieved, for example, by employing tabs, loops, folds, varying-strength adhesive strips, textures and/or release coatings. Exemplary packaging systems (e.g., containing removable coverings and/or objects) include features such that resistance to removal of the packaging system from an object varies at different phases of removal.
Label assembly and method of using the same to label articles durably yet removably
A label assembly and method of using the same to label articles durably, yet removably. In one embodiment, the method includes providing an image removing laminate. The image removing laminate includes (i) a remover support, and (ii) a remover layer secured to the remover support, the remover layer, upon being activated by at least one of heat and light, being bondable to an ink image on a garment in such a way that the bonding between the remover layer and the ink image is stronger than the bonding between the ink image and the garment. The method then includes bonding the remover layer of the image removing laminate to the ink image on the garment and, then, detaching the ink image from the garment by separating the image removing laminate away from the garment.
Prepregs Including UV Curable Resins Useful for Manufacturing Semi-Flexible PCBs
Prepregs having a UV curable resin layer located adjacent to a thermally curable resin layer wherein the UV curable resin layer includes at least one UV cured resin portion and at least one UV uncured resin as well as methods for preparing flexible printed circuit boards using the prepregs.
Resin composition for forming recording layer, recording medium, and image-recorded material
A resin composition for forming a recording layer, includes a resin and satisfies the following Expression (1):
20 C.T.sub.1T.sub.10120 C.,Expression (1):
wherein T.sub.1 represents a temperature at which the viscosity of a solid sample of the resin prepared from the resin composition, measured using a flow tester, is 10.sup.4 Pa.Math.s under an applied pressure of 1 MPa, and T.sub.10 represents a temperature at which the viscosity of a solid sample of the resin prepared from the resin composition, measured using a flow tester, is 10.sup.4 Pa.Math.s under an applied pressure of 10 MPa.
SELF ADHESIVE FOULING RELEASE COATING COMPOSITION
A multilayer self-adhesive fouling release coating composition includes an optional removable underlying liner; an adhesive layer applied over and to the optional underlying liner when the latter is present; and a synthetic material layer applied over and to the adhesive layer. Optionally, an intermediate silicone tie coat is applied over and to the synthetic material layer. A silicone fouling release top coat is applied over and to the synthetic material layer, or, when present, over and to the intermediate silicone tie coat. Optionally, a removable polymeric film is applied over and to the fouling release top coat.
POLYMER FILM GRAPHICS
The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of polymer film graphics comprising providing a continuous substrate having a release layer thereon; applying an image layer in the shape of a graphic letter or design to the release layer; depositing an adhesive layer to the image layer and which has the same shape as the image layer graphic letter or design; curing the adhesive and image layers; and winding the polymer film graphics onto rolls. The invention further relates to a polymer film graphic comprising a substrate having an upper surface and a lower surface; a release layer overlying the upper surface of the substrate; an image layer in the shape of a graphic letter or design overlying the release layer; an adhesive layer overlying the image layer, the adhesive layer having the same shape as the image layer graphic letter or design.
Adhesive articles with improved air egress
Methods of making adhesive articles providing air egress by supplying a route for the air to flow out from under the construction are described. One method includes providing a release liner comprising a moldable layer having a release surface and a back surface; applying a first pattern of a first non-adhesive material to a first portion of the release surface; applying a second pattern of a second non-adhesive material to a second portion of the release surface, wherein the second pattern partially overlaps the first pattern; embedding at least one of the first or second non-adhesive materials into the moldable layer; and transferring an adhesive layer having a front and back surface and end edges onto the release liner, wherein the front surface of the adhesive layer is adhered to the release surface of the release liner.
