A DEVICE TO ASSIST IN SELF INSERTION OF A CATHETER TUBE INTO THE URETHRAL ORIFICE OF WOMEN
The present invention is a device to assist in the insertion of a catheter tube into the urethral tract of women The device simplifies the finding of the location of the external urethral orifice and widens the orifice so that women patients may perform self-insertions of a catheter into the external orifice of the urethral tract for medical treatments without the assistance of a physician or a caregiver and with substantialy reduced discomfort. The device is constructed of: a vaginal insertion portion, a catheter tube guiding portion, at least two wing structures configured to widen the urethra orifice and a vaginal insertion element. Both the vaginal insertion portion and the catheter tube guiding portion of the UCAD are constructed as plates having elongated configurations. The vaginal insertion portion and the catheter tube guiding portion connect at one of their edges in a spatial configuration that forms an L shaped structure. The vaginal insertion portion of the UCAD has a configuration designed to be placed in the vagina, adjacent to the pubic symphysis of a treated women patient. The catheter tube guiding portion has a hole at the unconnected edge. Through the hole the catheter tube is inserted into the urethral tract of a treated patient. The catheter tube is removable from the hole in the catheter tube guiding portion without having to remove the catheter tube from the orifice of urethral tract, as explained below. The vaginal insertion element is connected to the vaginal insertion portion. The wing structures connect to the catheter tube guiding portion and protrude from the rim of said hole in the catheter tube guiding portion.
APPARATUS AND METHODS FOR RECEIVING DISCHARGED URINE
A system suitable for collecting and transporting urine away from the body of a person or animal may include an assembly having a fluid impermeable casing having a fluid reservoir at a first end, a fluid outlet at a second end, and a longitudinally extending fluid impermeable layer coupled to the fluid reservoir and the fluid outlet and defining a longitudinally elongated opening between the reservoir and the outlet. The assembly can further include a fluid permeable support disposed within the casing with a portion extending across the elongated opening, and a fluid permeable membrane disposed on the support and covering at least the portion of the support that extends across the elongated opening, so that the membrane is supported on the support and disposed across the elongated opening. The assembly can further include a tube having a first end disposed in the reservoir and a second, fluid discharge end.
Pre-lubricated female urinary catheter package
A rigid package or container for a sterile pre-lubricated, ready to use female-length catheter with enhanced gel holders and simple constructions. A main body of the rigid container has a hollow interior which may receive a gel holder defining an inner cavity filled with a lubricating gel. The gel holder partly inserts into the main body and a tube of the catheter inserts through the gel holder into the main body with a proximal outlet projecting out of the gel holder so as to be graspable. Alternatively, the gel may be provided within the hollow interior of the main body. A rigid and closed cap seals to either the main body or the gel holder and closes the hollow interior of the main body.
Leakage resistant external female catheter system and method of use
A system and method for automatically removing by suction urine voided by a female. The system includes an external catheter. The external catheter includes a suction tube having a portion enclosed in a hydrophilic sponge cover. The suction tube is arranged to be coupled to suction of a desired value. The cover is arranged to be disposed externally at the female's urethra opening to receive urine voided by the female, whereupon the suction draws the urine through the cover into the suction tube. The external catheter is arranged to be connected to a receptacle for collecting the urine received by the external catheter. Various embodiments of the suction tube and the cover are disclosed.
CONTAINER FOR COLLECTING LIQUID FOR TRANSPORT
A container for collecting liquid for transport, comprising: a web of flexible porous material defining at least a portion of a chamber in which liquid can be collected for transport. The chamber is configured to receive a tube in a position within the chamber that enables the tube to transport liquid from the chamber while the liquid collects within the chamber upon being drawn through the web when a partial vacuum is applied within the chamber via the tube. The porous material comprises a web of spun plastic fibers, such as spun polyester fibers. In one embodiment, the web of spun plastic fibers is configured to define an elongated portion of the chamber. In another embodiment, a backing of non-permeable material covers a portion of the web and is so combined with the web as to further define the chamber.
ADAPTERS FOR FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES
Examples relate to fluid collection assemblies, systems, and methods for collecting fluid from a wearer of the fluid collection assembly. The fluid collection assemblies include a fluid collection device attachable to an adapter. The fluid collection device includes porous material disposed within a fluid impermeable barrier. The adapter includes an interfacing body having at least one orifice and at least one attachment feature for attaching the adapter to the fluid collection device such that the porous material is fluidly connected to the at least one orifice. A fluid collection system includes a fluid collection device operably coupled to a fluid storage container and vacuum source via one or more sections of conduit.

Fluid collection assemblies including at least one inflation device and methods and systems of using the same
An example fluid collection assembly includes a fluid impermeable barrier defining at least one opening, a chamber, and at least one fluid outlet. The fluid collection assembly also includes at least one porous material disposed in the chamber. The fluid collection assembly further includes at least one inflation device. The inflation device includes bladder having one or more walls defining an interior region. The inflation device also includes at least one valve configured to selectively permit fluid flow into and out of the interior region to switch the bladder between a first state and a second state. The inflation device may at least one of controllably change the length of the fluid collection assembly or controllably change a width of at least a portion of the fluid collection assembly to more comfortably fit the fluid collection assembly within the labia folds of an individual using the fluid collection assembly.
An intermittent urinary catheter
An intermittent urinary catheter 1 with a generally triangular cross-section with three substantially flat surfaces 7a, 7b, 7c connected by rounded corners 8a, 8b, 8c and at least one eyelet 6, 10 positioned in one of the surfaces is described.
