SAFE URINARY CATHETER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD
20190321589 · 2019-10-24 ·

A urinary catheter may include a catheter shaft and a connector coupled with the proximal end of the catheter shaft. The connector may have a first arm ending in a fluid outlet configured to allow urine to flow out of the urinary catheter and a second arm with an aperture and ending in an inflation inlet used for introducing inflation fluid into the urinary catheter. The catheter may further include a primary lumen, an inflation lumen, a retention balloon mounted to the catheter shaft proximal to a fluid inlet and over a distal filling hole, and a pilot balloon mounted on the second arm of the connector over the aperture. The pilot balloon inflates at an inflation pressure that is higher than the inflation pressure of the retention balloon and lower than a predetermined pressure threshold.

METHODS OF URINARY CATHETER COLLECTION AND DRAINING
20190321212 · 2019-10-24 ·

A sterile dual-purpose closed intermittent urinary catheter system that may be used as either a drain line or a collection bag. A catheter resides within an inner cavity of an extensible sheath and may be extracted from a forward end through a hub for insertion into the urethra. A valve at a rearward end of the sheath may be opened to permit the sheath to function as a drain line, or closed to permit the sheath to function as a collection bag. The sheath has an extended length substantially longer than the catheter length. The catheter is extracted from within the sheath and inserted into the urethra to start urine flow. The urine may be collected in the sheath with the valve closed, or drained straight into a toilet with the valve open. The hub may have a source of lubrication to wet the catheter as it passes through.

COMPACT URINARY CATHETER
20190275289 · 2019-09-12 ·

A urinary catheter system includes a urinary catheter, a slidable sheath surrounding a portion of the catheter proximate the distal end, and an enclosure having a bottom member and a top member that rotate relative to one another about an axis of rotation. Rotating the top member or the bottom member relative to the other member causes the catheter to wind into a spiral between the inner wall of the bottom member and the outer wall of the top member. Some embodiments also include a urine collection bag attached to the proximal end of the catheter and housed within an inner open portion of the enclosure. Some embodiments also include a hygienic sleeve disposed over at least part of the catheter, to enhance cleanliness of the catheter before use.

DILATING DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PROSTATIC URETHRA

A dilating device for the prostatic urethra comprising: Prostatic implant includes independently actuatable distal retractor incorporating and proximal retractor. Retractors may be connected via a spine member. System and method include implant manipulator detachably connected to implant, for manipulating and forcing implant into close proximity, for delivery into subject.

CLOSED SYSTEM WITH INTERMITTENT URINARY CATHETER FEED
20190255280 · 2019-08-22 ·

A sterile closed intermittent urinary catheter system which is an easier to use by virtue of ergonomic shaping to facilitate advancement and retrieval of the catheter from the collection bag. The bag may have a closed internal hole adjacent an indent in one edge that creates a narrow channel through which the catheter passes. The narrow channel is located near to and in alignment with an outlet assembly so that the catheter extends from the narrow channel directly to the outlet. A user may easily grasp the catheter from outside the bag at the narrow channel and urge the catheter forward or backward to alternately extend and retract it through the outlet. A flexible pusher sleeve with gripper features may be added around the narrow channel to further facilitate catheter advancement.

DRUG-COATED BALLOON CATHETERS FOR BODY LUMENS
20240165303 · 2024-05-23 ·

Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating, preventing, or reducing the recurrence of a stricture and/or cancer, or for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in a non-vascular body lumen and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter includes a length-control mechanism which stretches and elongates the balloon when it is in a deflated state, giving the balloon a smaller cross-sectional deflated profile for tracking through the body lumen and for removal after treatment.

Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion

Ureteral catheters and assemblies are provided including: a drainage lumen including a proximal portion configured to be positioned in at least a portion of a patient's urethra and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's ureter and/or kidney, the distal portion including a coiled retention portion including at least a first coil having a first diameter and a second coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter; or wherein the retention portion extends radially outwardly from a portion of the distal end of the drainage lumen portion, the retention portion including a proximal end having a first diameter, a distal end having a second diameter, and a wall and/or surface extending therebetween, the retention portion having a second diameter is greater than the first diameter when deployed; or wherein the retention portion includes a plurality of drainage tubes.
