DRUG-COATED BALLOON CATHETERS FOR BODY LUMENS
Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating strictures in body lumens and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent.
STERILE URINARY CATHETER PACKAGE WITH DISPENSING SYSTEM
A packaged closed intermittent urinary catheter system equipped with a dispensing system and method of dispensing a packaged catheter using the dispensing system. The dispensing system is a pair of separately translatable movement control devices, each operably engaging the catheter for permitting unidirectional movement of the catheter in a first axial direction relative to the movement control devices. The movement control devices may be mounted to a hand-grippable assembly with a sliding or pivoting movable member reciprocal to a base member. Alternatively, the movement control devices are mounted to a coupling member and a spring member biases them apart.
CATHETER ASSEMBLY
A catheter assembly that has a catheter having a proximal end for insertion into the body and a distal end, a valve assembly, and a fluid collection bag arranged to receive fluid from the distal end of the catheter via the valve assembly. The valve assembly has a first configuration in which the valve assembly inhibits fluid flow in a direction from the fluid collection bag towards the catheter and permits fluid flow in a direction from the catheter towards the fluid collection bag; and a second configuration in which the valve assembly permits fluid flow in a direction from the fluid collection bag towards the catheter and inhibits fluid flow in a direction from the catheter towards the fluid collection bag. The catheter may be a male urinary catheter. Colour may be used to indicate the configuration of the valve assembly.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR CONTROLLING NEEDLE PENETRATION
A needle adjustment device is provided. The needle adjustment device includes a stopping component and an actuator. The stopping component is configured to establish a maximum penetration depth of a needle. The actuator is fixedly coupled to the needle and movable proximally and distally to one or more positions and to adjust a penetration depth of the needle depth up to the maximum penetration depth.
Adapters for fluid collection devices
Examples relate to fluid collection assemblies, systems, and methods for collecting fluid from a wearer of the fluid collection assembly. The fluid collection assemblies include a fluid collection device attachable to an adapter. The fluid collection device includes porous material disposed within a fluid impermeable barrier. The adapter includes an interfacing body having at least one orifice and at least one attachment feature for attaching the adapter to the fluid collection device such that the porous material is fluidly connected to the at least one orifice. A fluid collection system includes a fluid collection device operably coupled to a fluid storage container and vacuum source via one or more sections of conduit.
Ureteral and Bladder Catheters and Methods of Inducing Negative Pressure to Increase Renal Perfusion
Ureteral catheters are provided including a drainage lumen including a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's kidney, renal pelvis and/or in the ureter adjacent to the renal pelvis for receiving fluid from a patient's kidney and a proximal portion for draining the fluid from the distal portion, the distal portion including a coiled retention portion including: at least a first coil having a first diameter; at least a second coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter, the second coil being closer to an end of the distal portion of the drainage lumen than the first coil; and one or more perforations on a sidewall of the coiled retention portion of the distal portion of the drainage lumen for permitting fluid flow into the drainage lumen, wherein the proximal portion of the drainage lumen is essentially free of or free of perforations.
URETHRAL CATHETERS AND METHODS FOR FACILITATED INTRODUCTION INTO THE URINARY TRACT
Embodiments of the invention provide apparatus, systems and methods for facilitating introduction of a urinary drainage catheter (UDC) into the urinary tract (UT). One embodiment provides a UDC including electrodes for delivering high frequency current to a patient's pudenal nerves to relax the urinary sphincter (US) before passing the UDC therethrough so as reduce the resistance force on the UDC and discomfort to the patient. The electrodes can comprise at least one pair of bipolar electrodes and may be flexible so as to bend and flex within the urethra. The UDC includes one or more lumens including a drainage lumen and an inflation lumen for inflating an anchoring device on the UDC. The UDC can include a pressure sensor to assess relaxation of the US. The UDC may include a second set of electrodes and irrigation lumen for relaxing the US and flushing the urethra with the UDC in place.
Ureteral and bladder catheters and methods of inducing negative pressure to increase renal perfusion
Ureteral catheters and assemblies are provided including: a drainage lumen including a proximal portion configured to be positioned in at least a portion of a patient's urethra and a distal portion configured to be positioned in a patient's ureter and/or kidney, the distal portion including a coiled retention portion including at least a first coil having a first diameter and a second coil having a second diameter, the first diameter being less than the second diameter; or wherein the retention portion extends radially outwardly from a portion of the distal end of the drainage lumen portion, the retention portion including a proximal end having a first diameter, a distal end having a second diameter, and a wall and/or surface extending therebetween, the retention portion having a second diameter is greater than the first diameter when deployed; or wherein the retention portion includes a plurality of drainage tubes.
Male urinary catheter package
Package (10) for holding an intermittent, male urinary catheter (1). The package (10) has a vessel (5) which is tubular in shape allowing the urinary catheter (1) to be movably arranged in an inner volume of the vessel (5). An enveloping housing of the package entirely encloses the urinary catheter (1) when packaged. The enveloping housing has three tubular parts (2, 3, 6) of which a first and second straight part (2, 3) are of a hard plastic material, and a third part (6) is of a flexible material. The first straight (2) part is closed off at a bottom end thereof and the second straight part (3) is closeable by the cap (4) and comprises the vessel (5).
ADAPTERS FOR FLUID COLLECTION DEVICES
